Deep within the ruins of Tirisfal Glades, the remnants of the former Kingdom of Lordaeron are still occupied by undead forces. Ruins of Lordaeron is one of the nine new five-player dungeons added to WoW Forever, located above Undercity. The dungeon revolves around Forsaken's efforts to eliminate the remaining Scourge and regain control of the old capital, combining familiar Lordaeron history with brand-new dungeon exploration.

Dungeon Overview and Entry Method

WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron Complete Guide: Hidden Quest, Boss Mechanics & Best Dungeon Route

The recommended level for Ruins of Lordaeron is 16-23, with a minimum entry level of 15. However, many experienced WoW  Forever players recommend that Tanks and core members be at least level 17 before entering the dungeon, as this will make facing the dense mobs and some bosses with complex mechanics much easier.

The dungeon entrance is located in Lordaeron ruins area of Tirisfal Glades. Once inside the ruins, look to the left to find the dungeon portal. Route-wise, the entrance is easily accessible on the way from Brill towards Undercity.

A notable feature of this dungeon is its non-linear structure. The six bosses are not required to be killed in a fixed order; players can adjust their route flexibly based on team composition and quest requirements. However, this, coupled with heavy fog and fenced-off areas, makes it easy to get lost on first entry. It is recommended to browse the dungeon map before entering to have a general idea of the area layout.

High Experience Reward Quests

Ruins of Lordaeron quests offer very substantial experience rewards, making them an important means for players to gain experience between levels 15-20, and also one of the early ways to accumulate WoW Forever gold.

Horde players can accept a total of 6 quests, 4 outside the dungeon and 2 inside.

One of the most representative quests is The New Plague, which you accept from Theodore Griffs. The objective is to defeat the first boss, Witherfang, and obtain the quest item highly toxic strain from him.

Since this quest corresponds to an early boss in the dungeon, it's recommended to accept it before entering to avoid missing progress after defeating Witherfang.

Another noteworthy quest is Light's Justice, which aims to collect 25 Intact Limbs.

Intact Limbs can be obtained from Undead type enemies within Ruins of Lordaeron. This quest doesn't require specifically finding a boss; simply progress through the dungeon and clear enemies along the way to complete it. Therefore, it's ideal to complete alongside other dungeon quests.

There's also a hidden quest within the dungeon that's easily overlooked. After defeating Witherfang, continue forward to reach the area behind him. After passing the platform and entering the subsequent building, explore upwards along the stairs to find Crest of Lordaeron.

Picking up the quest item will unlock the corresponding questline, which is easily missed by teams following only the main route. According to feedback from WoW Classic Plus player community, the experience gained from completing this hidden quest is very high, exceeding 8000 points.

Recommended Route

The dungeon entrance area is a relatively open courtyard. It's recommended to descend the slope at the entrance into the spider area. This direction has many doorway structures, and although the path is winding, it's relatively easy to follow. After clearing the spider-like mobs along the way, you'll find the first boss, Witherfang.

After defeating Witherfang, there's a crucial fork in the road. Near the boss room, you can find a small archway. The entire team should jump over this archway, turn left, and go up the stairs to reach the location of the hidden quest item, Crest of Lordaeron.

After obtaining the item, you can either jump down the stairs or return the way you came and then proceed south. The map will mark the approximate location of Baron - he resembles Abomination and patrols an indoor courtyard area. After defeating Baron, you'll need to use jumps to traverse areas separated by fences. Specifically, find the edge platform near Baron's room, jump onto it, and then vault over the obstacle to enter a U-shaped path on the map.

This route leads to a closed area. Entering the door within will trigger a Gauntlet event: several waves of mobs will spawn consecutively, culminating in the boss Viktor the Vile. After completing this area, proceed towards Market Street to trigger the Abandoned fight.

Continue north to Bjork, eventually venturing deeper into the instance to challenge the final boss, Rath'mael. If the team wishes to adjust the order after Gauntlet, they can fight Rath'mael first, then return to deal with Bjork, as the two bosses are not far apart.

Boss Fighting Tips

WoW Forever Witherfang

Witherfang

Witherfang is the easiest boss in the entire Ruins of Lordaeron. The only thing to note is not to engage with mobs while they are still present. Clear the mobs along its patrol path beforehand, then pull it out and kill it individually.

Baron

Baron is one of the most likely wipe-inducing bosses in the early stages of WoW Forever. His core threat is the powerful Knock Away, which can quickly reduce the tank's health. The solution is for the team's crowd control classes to use stuns as much as possible to interrupt his rhythm.

Viktor the Vile

Viktor the Vile fight consists of 5 waves of mobs before the boss appears. This boss deals high damage, and the tank needs to establish a Threat as soon as each wave of mobs spawns.

The Abandoned

The Abandoned appears in Market Street area, spawning after 3 waves of mobs. He has Frost Nova and Chill effects, but his most crucial skill is Drain Life. The strategy is to interrupt his cast with a stun before it finishes, while keeping the tank's health safe.

Bjork

Bjork's combat mechanics are relatively simple. He only has one short-duration anti-nagic shell. During its effect, casters can postpone key burst skills; otherwise, normal DPS is sufficient.

Rath'mael

Rath'mael is the final boss of the raid. Its core mechanic is Flamestrike. This skill creates a continuous damage zone on the ground; all members should move out of the damage zone immediately. Prioritize survival and positioning during the fight, avoiding prolonged stays within the Flamestrike area to maintain DPS.

Overall, Ruins of Lordaeron occupy a unique position in the early raid system of WoW Classic+. It is one of the most important sources of experience and gear for the Horde faction in the early game, and also the first time players truly face a high-density combat environment requiring Threat management, chain control coordination, and positional awareness.
