Although Torchlight Infinite SS13 faced player criticism shortly after launch regarding loot drops linked to the new seasonal mechanic, the developers quickly implemented adjustments, allowing players to refocus on developing new builds.
While Afterlight Season introduced a new hero, Selena, established heroes remain reliable choices. Here, we introduce a dependable build for Bing 1 in the current season: Lightning Shot Escapist!

Sources of skill-based damage
As the name suggests, Lightning Shot is the core skill and primary source of damage for this build. Crucially, following updates to Bing 1, this skill can now be cast automatically; it fires and locks onto enemies without requiring any manual input.
This setup can be further enhanced by pairing it with Fixate and Aim skills. Both utilize Root Activation as their activation medium, meaning they trigger automatically whenever you stop moving.
Timid can be added as a curse skill; by linking it to Elite Activation Medium, it triggers automatically whenever a boss or elite monster is nearby. Additional offensive skills include Electric Overload and Quick Decision.
Dash, a standard movement skill with no cooldown, is used for traversing maps; alternatives include Shadow Raid, Magic Dash, and Periodic Burst.
Regarding support skills, Magnificent and Noble are essential and should ideally be leveled up to 5; other support skills should be selected based on their ability to directly boost physical damage.
As for passive skills, Precise: Weapon Amplification provides a 41% physical damage multiplier bonus. Furthermore, the conversion of physical damage to lightning damage is critical for Lightning Shot Escapist build.
Electric Conversion provides a lightning damage multiplier bonus, while Rejuvenation serves as a vital recovery skill; once the aura is activated, it grants health regeneration per second to both you and nearby allies.
Talent selection
Talents in Torchlight Infinite function uniquely, tied to the game's six Gods, each representing a specific elemental mastery. Your character can construct up to three talent panels based on these deities.
For Lightning Shot Bing 1 build in Torchlight Infinite SS13, you should prioritize Goddess of Hunting and Perception talents. Since this build focuses on Agility Blessing, these choices provide valuable, relevant bonuses.
Next, Rushed trait grants a 30% multiplicative damage bonus after you move 5 meters, while Assassin further boosts the build's Agility stat. Thunderclap consumes Agility Blessings to provide a 35% multiplicative lightning damage bonus.
Gale talent converts 60% of projectile speed into projectile damage; Lich adds +4 levels to all Support Skills; and Seal Compensation allows you to activate more skill seals simultaneously.
Best Hero Trait
Bing 1, specifically Creative Genius Bing, is a spell-bursting hero that relies on the power of repeated spellcasting to destroy enemies.
For Lightning Shot Escapist build, the first Hero Trait to unlock is Master Escapist. Firepower Coverage allows bombs to detonate instantly, working exceptionally well when paired with damage multipliers based on bomb radius.
Regarding Hero Memories, prioritize affixes related to agility, evasion, and attack speed.
Gear setup
First, both Blind Vision and Lightning Striker's Sacrum perform best after being Corrupted; you should roll for a Projectile Speed affix on the former, and Master Escapist plus Evasion affixes on the latter.
Next, the most crucial item is Ralph's Laws gloves. They provide a 20% multiplicative lightning damage bonus for every stack of Agility Blessing. Additionally, these gloves offer elemental penetration and a significant amount of evasion, making them essential for this build.
The core strategy for the amulet is to stack agility. For boots, Ralphy's Journey is mandatory; after double corruption, these boots provide Agility affixes and movement speed bonuses based on Agility.
As for the belt and rings, standard T1 affixes for Health, Agility, and Max Health suffice. For a more specific strategy, aim for lightning damage, general damage, and agility affixes on the rings.
Choose War Repercussion Musket as your weapon, but more importantly, ensure you upgrade it as you progress through Torchlight Infinite Season 13.
Ideally, you want to roll for a +6 Attack Skill Level affix; other beneficial affixes include increased Agility, Lightning Damage, or Physical Damage. For the bottom-tier affixes, you should look for stats like elemental damage, attack speed, or health regeneration.
Which pets offer the best bonuses?
While pets aren't strictly mandatory for a Torchlight Infinite build, the right choice can significantly boost your combat efficiency in specific scenarios.
For Lightning Shot Escapist build, we recommend Backup Power. Although it looks like a chubby, harmless mole, it provides substantial bonuses to attack speed and movement speed. It also appliesthe numb effect, which is excellent for lightning-based builds.
If you have the capacity to add more Pactspirits, Flower Whisperer and Traveling Lizard are also great choices, as they provide multiplicative damage bonuses for projectiles.
That concludes our introduction to Lightning Shot Escapist build. If you're looking to try out new playstyles in Torchlight Infinite SS13, this is a fantastic option!
As we've discussed, optimizing this build requires acquiring the right gear and repeatedly re-rolling until you secure the ideal affixes. To ensure a smooth process, it's a good idea to buy IGGM Torchlight Infinite Flame Elementium to stock up beforehand.
Upgrading gear consumes a significant amount of FE; running out of resources mid-process could stall your seasonal progress. And if your budget allows, why not make things easier for yourself?
