How to Beat Kuldra in RuneScape Dragonwilds: Preparations, Boss Fight Phases, and More Tips

PublishedPublished: Oct 20, 2026

ModifiedModified: Oct 20, 2026

Before more powerful raids and their associated bosses arrive in RuneScape Dragonwilds, your primary objective should be to complete Scorned Wilderness raid, specifically, to defeat its final boss, Dragon Queen Kuldra.

To ensure you finish Kuldra Saga before the end of 2026, clearing the way for you to dive fully into Blood Crystal Saga at the start of 2027, we have put together a detailed guide on how to defeat Kuldra.

How to Beat Kuldra in RuneScape Dragonwilds: Preparations, Boss Fight Phases, and More Tips

How to enter Scorned Wilderness raid?

The entrance to this raid is located in Fractured Plains of Ghornfell. Cross Dragon Gate on the map to enter Fractured Plains, then head deeper into the northwestern region to locate the raid entrance.

Since Kuldra is part of Scorned Wilderness raid, you must first complete RuneScape: Dragonwilds quest Icthlarin's Little Helper. This will unlock the subsequent Regicide quest, which is a prerequisite for gaining access to the raid.

Essential preparations

At the top of Fractured Plains zone, you will find a small safe area known as Rasthin's Rest. Here, you can construct facilities to serve as a base for resting or repairing your gear as you progress through the raid.

Commander Zilyana, the NPC overseeing Scorned Wilderness raid, is also stationed here; speak with her to begin the raid.

Should you leave the raid or, unfortunately, meet your demise while attempting it, you will need to return here to recover your gravestone. Therefore, our first practical piece of advice is to place a Lodestone right next to Zilyana.

This will save you unnecessary travel time, as your gravestone will be transported to this location, allowing you to jump straight back into the raid after a death.

Regarding equipment, you should bring the best gear you currently possess for Scorned Wilderness raid, ideally, Tier 7 gear obtained from Mumble Sands.

Alternatively, you can acquire additional materials, available through RuneScape Dragonwilds items for sale, to upgrade your existing gear to Rune version, which significantly boosts its effectiveness.

As for consumables, anti-fire potions are absolutely essential; you should also stock up on plenty of antidotes. As poisoning becomes increasingly frequent throughout this raid, having an antidote is absolutely essential, especially when facing Kuldra.

Additionally, bring the best healing food you can afford. We recommend Monkfish Skewers and Pumpkin Spice Infusion. While items like whetstones or other buffs aren't strictly required, they can make the encounter smoother and more efficient.

Raid exploration tips

RuneScape: Dragonwilds Scorned Wilderness raid features several checkpoints. Once activated, you can use them to temporarily leave the raid, return to base to restock or recover, and then re-enter through the same checkpoint.

The raid is divided into five main sections: Dragontail Vines, Fragments of Ghornfell, The Shattered Stronghold, Cataclysm Keep, and finally, Kuldra's Sanctum.

Once you complete the raid, all checkpoints are reset, and you must start from the beginning. Therefore, if you wish to defeat Kuldra repeatedly to farm her unique drops, you will need to restart the encounter from the very beginning.

Kuldra boss fight guide

The boss fight consists of four phases. The first three phases share a core mechanic: the arena contains an energy-orb dispenser, several elemental energy sources, energy pylons, and a resonator.

You must utilize elemental mechanics to power the resonator by loading it with energy orbs, then fire the resonator at Kuldra to deal damage.

In each of these three phases, dragon-like enemies, aligned with specific elements, will spawn. You must defeat them to power the necessary energy pylons and keep the resonator charged.

If you are tackling the encounter solo, loading a single energy orb typically provides three shots, with each shot dealing approximately 9,999 damage. Once loaded, be sure to fire all three shots as quickly as possible.

Keep in mind that the boss will continue to attack you while you are interacting with these mechanisms; do not become so focused on the mechanics that you neglect your own survival. For this reason, tackling the raid as part of a team is highly recommended.

Kuldra's attack patterns vary depending on which of her heads is currently active. It unleashes elemental attacks, including poison, fire, and ice, but these are usually telegraphed on the ground, allowing you to dodge them with ease.

Be especially wary of the beam fired from the boss's primary head; it deals massive damage. You can avoid this by taking cover behind the green crystals or other sturdy objects scattered around the arena, or simply by moving out of the beam's range.

When Kuldra's health drops to 75% and 50%, Commander Zilyana will appear and grant you a protective shield.

Use this window to recover your health, refresh your buffs, and get yourself ready for the next phase of the boss fight.

After the third phase concludes, keep firing with the resonator until Kuldra collapses, but this isn't the end; it's the start of the final phase.

A bridge will appear; cross it to approach Kuldra, and an interaction prompt will let you enter its body. Your objective here is to destroy its heart.

If your supplies are running low, a safer approach is to stay at a distance and use ranged attacks to strike the heart.

RuneScape Dragonwilds Kuldra's heart

For a faster, more aggressive clear, you can push forward toward the heart, but watch out for Heartworms that will attack you.

As you deal more damage to Kuldra's heart, Heartworms will pulse more rapidly and attack more frequently. You will also be subjected to constant poison damage; if things get too intense, don't hesitate to pull back.

Eventually, as you continue to deal damage, the heart will stop beating, and the game will prompt you to leave. Retrace your steps, and once the cutscene ends, you'll be teleported back to Commander Zilyana. Speak with her to conclude Scorned Wilderness raid!

That covers the essential information you need to conquer Kuldra boss fight. If you're ready, gear up with your best equipment and head out!
