Genshin Impact 6.1 Luna II Nefer Review | Best Builds, Skills, Teams & Should You Pull

Posted: Oct 21, 2025 Views: 73

Hello Travelers, Genshin Impact Version 6.1 "Luna II" will be released soon, featuring a single new character: Nefer. Some players are enthusiastic about Nefer's appearance, setting, and background, while others are excited about her power and burst damage.

However, some players remain skeptical. Is she truly as powerful as the trailer suggests? Is a gacha necessary for free-to-play players? And how many Constellations are necessary for Nefer? Let's take a closer look at Nefer's specific performance.

Genshin Impact 6.1 Luna II Nefer Review | Skills, Best Builds, Teams & Should You Pull

Nefer Skills

Nefer is a top-tier Lunar Bloom DPS character with Dendro element and a Catalyst weapon.

Normal Attack

Nefer's normal attack damage is very low, and it's not her primary damage output. Players with limited resources may want to hold off on upgrading it.

Her special charged attack, Slither, is an exploration skill that slightly increases movement speed and saves a small amount of stamina, but its utility is pretty common.

Elemental Skill

After using this skill, Nefer enters Shadow Dance (9s). While in this state, she can consume Verdant Dew to unleash special charged attacks.

Special Charged Attack: Each attack deals 2 Dendro elemental damage and summons Shade to deal 3 Lunar Bloom damage. Each Elemental Skill can perform up to 3 special charged attacks, and each skill has 2 charges.

Note that this skill is Nefer's primary damage output, with Lunar Bloom accounting for over 90% of her total damage, while Elemental Burst only contributes a small portion.

Elemental Burst

Costs 60 Energy, dealing AoE Dendro Damage with two damage cycles. This skill is generally not worth using in high-DPS rotations, as it consumes important stacks of Veil of Falsehood and the damage is low damage to enemies. Therefore, stacking with Energy Recharge is not recommended.

Passives

1st Ascension Passive

While in Ascendant Gleam (with two Nod-Krai characters on the team), using an elemental skill transforms Grassland Cores on the board into Seeds of Deceit.

By charging these seeds with a charge, Nefer absorbs them, gaining up to 3 stacks of Veil of Falsehood. Each stack increases the multiplier damage of special charged attacks by 8% (total 24%). At 3 stacks, gain an additional 100 Elemental Mastery.

4th Ascension Passive

While in Shadow Dance, when a character other than Nefer triggers Lunar Bloom, the interval between Verdant Dew generation increases based on Nefer's Elemental Mastery. This caps out at 1000 Elemental Mastery, increasing generation efficiency by approximately 50%.

Moonsign Benediction Passive

When any character in your party triggers a Bloom reaction, it is converted into a Lunar Bloom. Lunar Bloom functions exactly like a regular Bloom, but generates Verdant Dew every 2.5 seconds and grants Nefer a base damage bonus based on Elemental Mastery (capped at 14% at 800 Elemental Mastery).

Core Skills And Stats

Dash Cancelling

By dashing immediately at the start of a special charge attack animation, Nefer's on-screen time can be significantly reduced, from approximately 5 seconds to approximately 3.5 seconds. This also allows Shade's Lunar Bloom to deal full damage. This is a core skill for increasing damage, and the time saved translates to a DPS increase of approximately 15%.

Elemental Mastery

Since over 90% of Nefer's damage comes from Lunar Bloom, and this damage is solely determined by Elemental Mastery, critical strike rate, and critical hit damage, and not by ATK or DMG bonus, stacking attack damage has minimal benefits. Elemental Mastery, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage are the most important stats, and achieving 800-1000 Elemental Mastery is not difficult.

Team Compatibility Analysis

Best Teammate: Lauma

Lauma's Elemental Burst grants 18 stacks of Pale Hymn, perfectly complementing Nefer's 18 Lunar Bloom damage per round. Her elemental skills also reduce enemies' Dendro elemental resistance by up to 25%. On an Ascendant Gleam team, her passive grants 10% critical strike chance and 20% critical strike damage.

If you acquired Lauma during the 6.0 gacha, you've put your Genshin Impact Genesis Crystal to good use. She's practically tailor-made support for Nefer, providing a massive 40%-50% damage boost. This boost even surpasses some meta teams and can be a game-changer for Nefer.

Best Team Compatibility

  • Nefer, Lauma, Nahida, and C6 Aino.

Lauma provides a massive all-around damage boost, while Nahida provides high Dendro Elemental Mastery and can even provide support when off the board. C6 Aino provides an additional 10%-15% damage boost.

F2P Team

  • Nefer, Dendro Traveler, C0 Aino, and Sucrose.

Use Dendro Traveler to activate Verdant Dew, then have Aino equip the Instructor set to provide Elemental Mastery, with Sucrose sharing Elemental Mastery. In this pairing, Nefer contributes almost all the damage and lacks healing or shields, putting him under survivability pressure.

Other Possible Teammates

  • Hydro Elemental Characters: Xingqiu, Furina, Aino, Kokomi, etc. Their damage boost is ineffective, and their main function is to use Hydro Elemental.
  • To improve survivability: Zhongli (shield), Baizhu (shield and healing), Qiqi (healing).
  • Off-Carry: Non-Ascendant Gleam teams can consider Fischl or Ineffa to supplement their damage.

Ascendant Gleam (double Nod-Krai Characters) team is highly recommended to activate Nefer's 1st Ascension Passive and gain the crucial damage boosts of Seeds of Deceit and Veil of Falsehood. Otherwise, her damage will be significantly reduced.

Gacha Recommendation

Although Nefer appears simple to control, there are some tricks to increase her damage. If you're looking for high-powered damage, her damage ceiling depends on whether you have Lauma.

If you don't have Lauma, Nefer is a powerful Dendro DPS with respectable damage, but her support compatibility is limited. Lauma, however, will transform her, making her an absolute core partner in the current meta.

Lauma may be prioritized over Nefer's Constellations and special weapons. The damage of a C0 Nefer with a forged weapon and C0 Lauma (with a unique weapon) is almost on par with a C1 Nefer (with a unique weapon) but without Lauma.

For any player with Lauma, gachaing Nefer is highly recommended. Free-to-play players can skip the unique weapon and maximize her damage with a Blackmarrow Lantern and Elemental Mastery sets.

If you have enough Genesis Crystals, gachaing Nefer for Constellation 2 is recommended. This will give her a roughly 26% damage boost, while the C1 Nefer boost is much smaller.

That's a rough assessment of Nefer. If you don't need DPS, Furina, featured in the 6.1 Luna II banner, is also highly recommended, and she's a very powerful Hydro elemental support.

The gacha experience in Genshin Impact is always frustrating. Bad luck will come to you at any time. No one can guarantee that you'll get Nefer within 30 or 40 pulls. If you happen to use up all your Genesis Crystals, you can buy safe and cheap Genshin Impact Genesis Crystals on IGGM.
