EA FC 27 The Grounds Gameplay Details | How the New Social Hub Changes Pro Clubs Experience?
Many players have grown tired of Ultimate Team. This long-running official mode has seen very few meaningful changes in recent years, but The Grounds in EA FC 27 is bringing a fresh new direction.
The official team has now shared a much more detailed overview of The Grounds. It is a mode that combines social interaction with competitive gameplay, so let's take a look at its gameplay.

Open World
The Grounds is a large open-world environment where players can socialize, play street football, or jump into matches whenever they want. Pro Clubs has been fully integrated into this shared social space.
You begin by creating your own player, who starts in an area called Terrace, which serves as the main spawn point for The Grounds. The open world is divided into three regions inspired by football cultures in the United Kingdom, France, and Argentina, although the cities themselves are fictional.
Players will recognize iconic landmarks along with football pitches designed to match each region's local atmosphere. Each server can host up to 100 players simultaneously, creating a lively multiplayer environment.
The Grounds Gameplay
The core design philosophy of The Grounds revolves around social interaction and teamwork. The official team has emphasized that every activity is intended to encourage players to participate alongside their Club teammates and friends.
More importantly, everything you do in The Grounds, whether playing matches or taking part in mini-games, directly contributes to the progression of your individual Pro.
Modes
The Grounds includes several match formats, including 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and Rush mode.
It also introduces Kickabouts, a new style of street football that blends football with the rules of other sports to create fresh cooperative and competitive experiences. Confirmed examples include modes inspired by Dodgeball and Basketball.
These street football activities will continue to evolve alongside real-world football events and seasonal updates, helping the mode remain fresh over time.
Rewards and Progression
Participating in any of these activities rewards players with Grounds Coins and Archetype XP. Both resources are essential for improving your Pro and unlocking additional content.
Large Competitive Events
Beyond casual street football, The Grounds also provides a more structured competitive stage for entire Clubs. Official 11v11 Tournaments and Live Events will be introduced regularly, giving Clubs additional competitive opportunities beyond Seasons and Playoffs while featuring unique rules and exclusive rewards.
Pro Clubs
Your Club's performance on the pitch will be reflected directly throughout The Grounds, creating a much stronger sense of achievement and community.
As your Club's reputation grows, more supporters wearing your Kits will appear throughout the streets. Your Clubhouse will receive upgrades, and your Stadium will continue to develop as well.
Whenever you and your Club teammates compete together in 2v2, 3v3, or Rush matches, your Club's banners will be displayed around the venue.
The Grounds also solves one of the biggest frustrations from the previous Pro Clubs experience, which required enough teammates to be online before playing. Even when most of your Club members are offline, you can easily team up with other players throughout The Grounds.
Whether you are looking for a fun Rush squad or hoping to meet new teammates in 2v2 matches, the process is now much more convenient. You can even add new friends immediately or recruit talented players for your Club.
Every match you see taking place around the world is happening live. This allows you to Spectate your friends' games or Scout potential Club recruits before inviting them to join.
New Progression System
The Grounds expands Archetypes system with two new mechanics called Amps and Masteries.
Amps
Amps allow you to add an entirely new ability to your Archetype, even if that ability is not normally associated with your selected position.
Higher-tier Amps are inspired by the signature performances of real-world football stars, allowing players to recreate the styles of some of the world's best athletes. New Amps will continue to be introduced based on major football performances and future FC series events, ensuring that customization continues to evolve.
Masteries
Masteries provide another progression path by granting permanent bonuses that apply across all of your Builds. Reaching Level 10 with an Archetype unlocks a permanent attribute bonus for your player.
Those bonuses remain active even after switching to another build. By raising multiple Archetypes to Level 10, you can accumulate numerous permanent attribute boosts and gradually create an exceptionally powerful player.
In response to community feedback, resetting player attributes no longer requires any Grounds Coins. You are now free to rebuild any Archetype at any time, allowing you to experiment with different combinations of Amps and Masteries without restrictions.
Customization
The Grounds offers an extensive range of customization options. Players can dress their characters with a wide variety of street wear, mix clothing from favorite brands, and combine personal style with their Club identity.
The mode also introduces an Emote Wheel, allowing players to assign up to eight different emotes for interacting with others throughout The Grounds or celebrating after matches.
Mentors
Three real-world football stars appear throughout The Grounds as Mentors, offering guidance to players:
- Paulo Dybala
- Chloe Kelly
- Kylian Mbappé
Their role is primarily to trigger cinematic sequences and unlock objectives. Simply approaching and speaking with them activates these events, and no deeper interaction is currently available.
Not every player will enjoy this mode equally. Those who regularly have friends available to team up with are likely to find it much more rewarding. Even so, The Grounds introduces a refreshing alternative to Ultimate Team, giving players another enjoyable way to experience EA FC 27.
It is impossible to abandon UT mode for the developers; it's the most mature gameplay mode in the EA FC series, and they've made some improvements to it in FIFA 27.
You can buy FC 26 coins from IGGM to invest in your team if you're not very interested in The Grounds and are still a fan of UT format.

A True Innovation or Just a Patch? | EA FC 27 Latest Official Gameplay Trailer Sparks Player Debate
The official gameplay trailer for EA FC 27, launching on September 25th, has finally been released. They claim it's a major gameplay overhaul centered on player feedback - AI defense has been significantly weakened, manual defense has been greatly strengthened, the corner kicks mechanism has been completely reworked, and offensive positioning is more intelligent.
However, players familiar with the series know that the official statement every year is, "We've heard the community's voice." From FC 25 to FC 26, the drama of AI defending going from weak to strong only to being patched back has played out countless times.
So, is this a true innovation, or just a patch that was supposed to be released midway through FC 26 being repackaged as a new game? This article will provide a comprehensive breakdown of the gameplay changes in FC 27 based on official Pitch Notes and genuine community feedback.
AI Defending: Automatic Tackling Gone

The official Gameplay Deep Dive states that FC 27 has made one of the most significant gameplay adjustments to AI defending.
Specifically, AI-controlled defenders no longer automatically tackle. Previously, the AI would automatically extend its leg to attempt a tackle whenever the dribbler approached. Now, AI teammates will simply maintain their position and provide defensive support until you manually switch to them and make a tackle decision.
However, the AI can still gain possession in two situations: when a loose ball enters its reach, or when the dribbler directly collidees with the AI.
Teammate Containment has also been weakened. When performing Teammate Containment, AI teammates will maintain a greater distance from the ball carrier than before. If you want to apply real pressure, you must manually switch to that player to defend.
However, these changes don't seem to have pleased players much. Players generally believe that the weakening of AI defending, reduced second-man pressing, and weakened team pressing mentioned in the trailer are things that could be fixed with a single patch, and should have been included in FC 26, yet they're being packaged as selling points for FC 27.
Offensive Innovations
Creative Runs
FC 27 introduces a completely new offensive movement system:
- Triggered Runs: Enhanced, attacking players' off-the-ball runs are more purposeful.
- Curved Runs: Teammates will run along the defensive line's curve and maintain their position, giving you more time to observe and pass.
- Pass and Follow: Players can advance into open spaces after passing, drawing defenders away.
- Offside Awareness: AI will be more aware of avoiding offside.
Off-Balance Dribbling
This is another notable new mechanic in FIFA 27: dribblers with a combined Balance, Agility, and Dribbling rating of 85 or higher can maintain ball control even when knocked down and losing balance. This is inspired by players like Pedri and Musiala - who always find a way to protect the ball when tackled.
Passing Fluidity
Passing animations and player movement have been optimized: passing actions transition more naturally into running, reducing post-pass delays. Players will make smarter runs after passing, becoming instant passing options for One-Two Passes, quick combinations, and possession-based attacks.
Corner Kicks Redesigned
In FC 27, the studio redesigned Corner Kick mechanic, breaking the process into two phases, allowing players to participate more actively in set-piece attacks.
- Preparation Phase: Players need to choose the landing point of Corner Kick and control the power of the cross by charging it up.
- Positioning Phase: Players will have a few seconds to manually control the movement of their receiving player, allowing the player to attempt to break free of the defense and reach the predetermined landing point at the optimal moment through timing runs to win headers.
Perhaps the developers hope that this change will make Corner Kick more than just a simple cross maneuver, but closer to the Set Piece tactical design in real football.
However, the community feedback after the announcement of this new mechanism was lukewarm. Most players play football games for scoring goals, dribbling, shooting, and physical duels; few people find the corner kick system upgrade a particularly exciting new feature.
Balance of PlayStyles and Bruiser
Bruiser Nerfed
In FC 26, players with Bruiser or Bruiser+ could easily physically overpower opponents, leading to player feedback that Bruiser PlayStyle was too overpowered.
FUT 27 addressed this - defenders can no longer physically challenge from behind, meaning they can no longer simply run towards the dribbler to win possession.
Attributes vs PlayStyles
The official trailer also stated that EA FC 27 will rebalance the relationship between PlayStyles and core attributes. They have adjusted a range of Playstyles, including Finesse Shot, Technical Dribbler, and Rapid, which will allow attributes to play a greater role in determining player performance than before, thus enabling both to have a substantial impact on player performance.
FC 27 Gameplay: Revolution or a Belated Fix?
Based on the currently released information, the gameplay changes in FC 27 are indeed more extensive than in previous versions. From AI Defending and Manual Defending to Creative Runs, Corner Kick, and PlayStyles balancing, the studio is attempting to make matches more reliant on player action rather than AI automation.
In terms of direction, these changes largely address the most frequently asked questions from players in previous versions. However, the biggest question remaining in the community is whether these changes will last until the end of the game's lifecycle.
Players familiar with the FC series know that many gameplay adjustments seem ideal at launch, but with subsequent patch updates, game balance often shifts again. In past versions, AI defense, passing speed, and physical confrontation mechanics have undergone repeated adjustments, leading players to question the developers' long-term maintenance capabilities.
For EA Sports FC 27, the real challenge is not coming up with new ideas, but ensuring their continued existence.
For FUT players, in addition to gameplay changes, quickly adapting to the new meta and building competitive lineups will be crucial for FC 27. Competitive players can buy FC 27 coins from IGGM.com to prepare necessary resources and quickly build their initial lineups, gaining an advantage before market fluctuations.

EA FC 27 Gameplay Changes Revealed | Manual Defending, Smarter AI, and New Attack Mechanics Explained
After the release of EA FC 27, the official team invited some players to participate in early testing sessions to experience the specific changes, especially those related to player control and gameplay.
From FIFA 23 to EA FC 26, players have repeatedly complained that each new installment brought only minor gameplay changes, with differences that could almost be fixed through a single patch. So, can EA FC 27 finally bring meaningful improvements? Let's take a look at the official information and player feedback.

Defensive Mechanics
The general opinion within the player community is that manual defending should become the most effective way to stop opponents. This is exactly the direction of FC 27's defensive changes. The core idea is to reduce AI defensive assistance and give more control and power to players who defend manually.
According to the official changes, when players manually control defenders, their players will react more quickly when tracking opponents and will have larger tackling, interception, and blocking ranges.
Based on feedback from players who participated in the testing, when they manually controlled a defender, the defensive circle around the player's feet was three to four times larger than the circle of AI-controlled players. As long as the ball entered this area, they could complete an interception or tackle, which clearly increases the importance of manual defending.
However, the official team has historically been more likely to listen to casual player feedback rather than the opinions of experienced competitive players. If a large number of casual players complain that AI defending is too weak and defending becomes too difficult within the first few weeks after release, the defensive system could once again be adjusted and potentially return closer to its previous state.
Reducing AI Dependency
In addition, AI-controlled players will almost never aggressively rush forward to win the ball or actively engage in challenges. The effectiveness of teammate support and full-team pressing has also been reduced. Defenders can no longer initiate physical challenges from behind or simply use collisions to take the ball away from dribblers.
Especially in competitive modes, automatic AI tackles have been heavily limited. AI players will still maintain useful defensive positions, but they will rarely extend their legs or take risks to challenge attackers. Teammate support and team pressing in the defensive third have also become less effective.
Attacking Runs
Compared with defensive changes, FIFA 27's attacking AI has received a significant improvement, especially in decision-making for forward runs.
Players testing the game reported that the pass and follow mechanic is extremely powerful. After making a pass and triggering this mechanic, the passing player will continue running forward and automatically target the largest available gap in the defensive line.
Regardless of which player you control, even if it is a full-back without strong attacking attributes, the running paths are extremely intelligent. Players will slow down at the right moment to avoid being offside, then suddenly accelerate to break away from defenders. Even more importantly, the running distance has no limit.
Even if you change tactical instructions and completely drain their stamina, they can still continue performing pass and follow runs, which makes the mechanic appear somewhat unbalanced.
However, EA FC 27 will not launch until September, meaning the official team still has time to make adjustments. If these issues are not addressed before release, they will most likely be fixed through a hotfix shortly after launch.
Player Positioning
The developers of EA FC 27 also stated that attacking players will no longer be strictly restricted by their positions. For example, if a left winger is assigned Winger role with a Balanced or Attack instruction, they will usually stay wide.
However, once they detect space between the full-back and center-back, they will automatically make curved inward runs to create attacking opportunities. This dynamic positioning greatly improves attacking fluidity, preventing teams from becoming stuck because of rigid positional structures.
Off-the-ball Runs system for attacking players has also been redesigned. Teammates can now perform curved runs along defensive lines and adjust their running pace at the right moments, creating longer passing windows and clearer passing lanes for the player in possession. This allows attackers to break through defensive structures more effectively.
Corner Kick Rework
In FUT 26, goals from corners were extremely rare because one-button crossing and one-button finishing required almost no skill. As a result, the official team intentionally increased the difficulty of corner kicks.
After the rework, corners will be divided into two stages. First, players need to select the target area and charge the delivery power. Then, while the ball is in the air, they must control the runner's movement, escape defensive marking, and time their attack.
This reduces the influence of luck and places more emphasis on player skill. Players will have more freedom when choosing delivery locations, controlling power, and using several seconds to move away from defenders, creating set-piece combinations with more tactical creativity similar to real matches.
Other Adjustments
The official team also mentioned several other changes made based on player feedback:
- Off-Balance Dribbling: Elite dribblers will maintain better control of the ball even when they are hit or lose balance.
- Passing System: Ground passes will follow the player's stick direction more strictly instead of relying too heavily on assisted targeting toward predetermined routes, increasing the skill requirement for passing.
- Possession After Interceptions: The logic behind defensive interceptions has been changed, shifting from simply breaking up the pass to prioritizing gaining control of the ball.
- Shooting: Different shooting methods will become more effective in specific situations, preventing a single approach from becoming the dominant meta strategy
- Crossing: Crossing trajectories and heading accuracy have also been adjusted to create more variety in attacking situations inside the box.
These changes are actually adjustments that could have been implemented during FIFA 26, but the official team has chosen to introduce them as major changes for FC 27. Even so, many players remain hesitant to trust it because positive gameplay changes are often heavily modified in the first patch after release or end up having little practical impact.
Based on all current information, many core players believe that the new title is not a true revolution, but rather an upgraded version built on the foundation of old one. While the overall quality remains acceptable, it does not create the feeling of a major surprise.
We cannot predict how these changes will shape EA FC 27, but FC 27 is generally at its best when it's first released. You can pre-order FC 27 coins from IGGM, so you can get into the competition sooner after it launches.

Which EA FC 27 Edition Should You Pre-Order If Your Main Focus Is FC Points? Can You Get Reliable Experience without It?
Pre-orders for FIFA 27 are in full swing. Are you still on the fence, or have you already decided which edition to unlock? We previously provided a detailed breakdown of the pre-order options for each edition, which should help guide your choice.
If you are still undecided, the factors influencing your decision likely come down to a few key questions: Is FUT 27 worth playing? Do you want early access? And which pre-order bonuses do you actually need?
Deciding on the pre-order bonuses is arguably the trickiest part, as there are significant differences between the three editions that require careful comparison. However, if FC Points are a priority for you, the following analysis is worth a read.

Why are FC Points so important?
Unlike Career Mode, which is more casual and lacks a strong competitive focus, FC 27 Ultimate Team places high demands on the number of player cards you own and the stats of the cards in your starting lineup, especially if you want to win more matches.
To become a top FUT 27 player, you need to consistently acquire packs (to pull new cards) and upgrade your players through features like Evolutions, all of which require FC Points.
Like coins, Points are a vital currency in EA FC series; both can be used to redeem packs or unlock Evolution slots for players.
However, Points unlock premium features that coins cannot, such as unlocking and progressing through Premium Season Pass. Furthermore, while FC 27 coins can be earned through gameplay, Points can only be obtained via pre-order bonuses or by unlocking them with real currency.
In short, premium perks and rewards are exclusive to FC Points, and if you don't choose the right pre-order edition, your options for acquiring extra Points later on will be extremely limited.
Which FIFA 27 pre-order editions offer FC Points rewards?
There are three known pre-order editions for FUT 27: Standard, Ultimate, and Ultimate Plus. The latter two both include FC Points rewards.
Specifically, if you pre-order Ultimate Edition, you will receive 2,000 points per month for the first three months following the game's official launch as part of the pre-order bonus package. With Ultimate Plus edition, you will receive 2,000 points each month for the first five months.
More importantly, the pre-order bonuses for these two versions include a Premium Season Pass, covering either one season or five seasons, respectively.
This means a portion of FC Points you receive can be used to unlock new cards or special features based on your actual gameplay needs, without having to consume points on Premium Season Pass itself.
How to get extra FC Points?
If you miss the pre-order window for any reason, or if you are a hardcore player for whom an extra 2,000 points a month isn't enough, you can also get more FC Points using real currency once the game launches.
Please note that when making a trade, you must select the platform corresponding to the device you are using; otherwise, the transaction may fail.
Can you have a solid experience using only FC 27 coins?
If you are on a budget, don't plan to pre-order FIFA 27 or unlock extra points, FIFA 27 coins will be your only means of unlocking additional packs or players.
To be honest, while coins may not be as exclusive as points, they actually offer broader utility. Most packs in the in-game store can be unlocked with coins, and FUT 27 coins allow you to acquire any player on the transfer market, something FC Points cannot be used for.
So, unless you are aiming for a perfect player collection or specific perks that casual players rarely use, you can still enjoy a great gaming experience with few or no FC Points, provided you know how to earn enough FIFA 27 coins.
How to farm FUT 27 coins?
Even though early access hasn't started yet, the core mechanics of the series rarely change drastically. Based on the current gameplay of FIFA 26, you can expect to use your experience to continue farming coins in FUT 27.
The most fundamental approach is to complete newly released SBCs (Squad Building Challenges), Objectives, and any Ultimate Team game modes that offer coins as rewards.
These activities reward you with more than just coins; they also provide packs or player cards. If you receive players you don't need, you can hold onto them until FUT 27 launches and sell them on the transfer market when prices are at their peak, thereby earning even more FIFA 27 coins.
Furthermore, if you pre-order Standard Edition, which does not include FC Points, you can still access limited-time perks such as XP boosts and extra challenge opportunities, all of which help you earn more coins.
Summary
If you are a dedicated player accustomed to unlocking and utilizing FC Points, we recommend pre-ordering Ultimate or Ultimate Plus edition immediately, unless you have decided against playing EA FC 27, to avoid the sense of disadvantage that comes with missing out on the benefits those points provide.
However, if you do not care about points or are unable to acquire them, there is no need to worry about missing out on a great gaming experience; simply investing enough time to farm coins is highly effective!
As a final reminder, the pre-order window for Ultimate Plus edition closes on August 31, well before the full release of EA FUT 27. If you don't want to miss out, it is best to make your decision early!

What Makes EA FC 27 an Unquittable Annual Habit for Millions? | Yearly Payment, Yearly Play
Yes, every year during EA FC series release season, the debate surrounding football games is never-ending. However, if we take the time to listen to the players' honest opinions, we can see that many still choose to invest in the new titles - this year, they're still following FC 27.
This isn't blind enthusiasm or a matter of desperation, but rather a decision made by players based on their genuine experience and value judgment.
Entertainment Time Far Exceeds Game Price
Most people consider the price before deciding whether to play a game, because even the best games can't be divorced from the market; value for money is an unavoidable factor.
Players considering EA Sports FC 27 will also take this into account.
At a standard edition price of around $70 to $80, if we invest hundreds or even thousands of hours in the game a year, the cost per hour is only a few cents.
Compared to other forms of entertainment - a show plus dinner or several movies - the financial cost is roughly the same, but the time spent playing and the immersion provided by FC 27 are clearly much longer-lasting.
Even at the $150 Ultimate Edition, it's still a great value for players who log in weekly to participate in events and hone their football skills.

FC 27 is More than Just a Match
The core of this football game goes far beyond the mere 90 minutes of competition on the field, as players can also enjoy a wealth of card collection, development, and tactical experimentation through Ultimate Team.
We can also use Evolution system to gradually develop our favorite players into versions that better fit our tactics, instead of blindly chasing the popular versions in the community.
There are also some creative ways to play - custom formations, or even building a team with a strong sense of nostalgia - which allow each player to enjoy football at their own pace, rather than being held hostage by the anxiety that "winning is the only way to win."
Furthermore, the game supports mobile devices or cloud gaming services, allowing players to manage their teams and trade players in their spare time.
Not Always the Same
While EA FC series is often criticized for being merely re-skinned versions, veteran players can certainly sense the subtle evolutions each year.
For example, in the early days of FIFA 27's release this year, the controls and player responsiveness often felt fresh - even with subsequent patches adjusting balance, the initial two weeks were still exciting, with no screens full of promotional cards, allowing players to experience fair competition based on skill and team composition.
Furthermore, based on past experience, Clubs, Manager Career, and Seasons will continue to receive optimizations to cater to different player preferences.
Dopamine and a Sense of Achievement
Undeniably, FC 27 Ultimate Team's progression system, weekly goals, and promotional events precisely target players' desire to collect and their sense of progression.
But this addictive experience isn't all bad - the instant gratification of winning a tough match or completing a difficult evolution challenge after work or study is something many single-player games struggle to provide.
For veteran gamers who have entered the workforce, turning their earnings into their favorite games is a mature and autonomous choice, adding fun and challenge to their lives rather than coerced consumption.
Long-Term Habit
Some say that people continue playing FC 27 simply because they're used to it and can't live without it. A bit of an exaggeration, right? But there's some truth to it.
Many players have been playing since FIFA 12 or even earlier versions; it's as if this football game has become an integral part of their lives.
Each new release is like the start of a new season, allowing players to experience the current transfers and the rise of new stars, feeling the changes in football from the game's perspective.
Even if their skills are no longer top-tier, or they're no longer obsessed with ranked matches, they're still willing to open the game, complete evolution missions, and occasionally play a few matches.
It's certainly not the same as the constant grinding they did in the beginning; it's more like a relaxing ritual using FC 27.
No Better Rivals
Regardless of the criticisms leveled at FUT 27, the fact remains that while competitors like eFootball exist, many still believe they fall short of EA FC series in terms of content completeness and mode variety.
Whether it's league licensing or long-term operational experience, we must acknowledge that FC 27 is indeed the most comprehensive football game on the market.
Even if a monopoly isn't what we want, at least for now, it provides players with the most complete football gaming platform.
Play Rationally
It's worth emphasizing that many players aren't blindly investing money in this game. Most opt for a standard edition or a subscription service, avoiding the gacha pulls in the store.
This is a smart move, because what truly determines the quality of FC 27 experience isn't how much money you spend, but whether you can avoid being bogged down by in-game promotions and addicted to opening gacha packs, focusing instead on improving your football skills.
Additionally, if you want to have a smoother start to the game this September, you can pre-order FC 27 coins on IGGM, which will greatly reduce the chance of you getting stuck in the game.
No one will say that FC 27 is perfect, but as long as the value it brings outweighs its flaws, then the game is worthwhile.

Which EA FC 27 Pre-Order Edition Should You Choose? Why Is Ultimate Plus More Attractive and Easier to Miss out on?
With the release of the official trailer, full details regarding FC 27 pre-orders, including the pricing for all three editions, have been revealed. Combining the trailer's content with various leaks, it is time to decide which edition to pick up!
Although the community often complains that the game declines in quality year after year as a new EA FC title approaches, this series does indeed offer a more reliable virtual soccer experience than other games.
If you plan to dive into building a brand-new Dream Team this September, don't hesitate until the last minute and miss out on pre-order bonuses. Instead, do your research now and choose the edition that suits you best! We've put together a detailed analysis to help you decide.

Official trailer reveals more details
Before choosing a pre-order edition, you might want to use the details shown in the trailer to determine if FUT 27 is worth unlocking.
Overall, the trailer likely confirms much of what you already gathered from the leaks and predictions circulating over the past month. It focuses on showcasing the new The Grounds feature and reveals further optimizations for Ultimate Team and Career Mode.
Therefore, if The Grounds interests you, you want a superior experience, and you are keen on playing with stars who shone at this year's World Cup, such as Mbappé or Bellingham, then FC 27 should deliver a great experience.
Pre-order schedule
Pre-orders for FC 27 opened fully on July 23, covering three editions: Standard, Ultimate, and the newly introduced Ultimate Plus.
Ultimate and Standard editions are available for pre-order right up until the game's official launch on September 25. However, since Ultimate Edition includes seven days of early access (starting September 18), it is best to secure it early if you've made up your mind.
Note that Ultimate Plus edition is only available for pre-order until August 31. Naturally, it offers the most extensive special bonuses.
Which edition should you choose?
If you have unlocked the latest FIFA game immediately upon release every year, you might already be in the habit of pre-ordering a specific edition. However, the addition of Ultimate Plus edition this year might give you pause, especially if your budget allows for it.
It is also worth noting that with EA Play membership, you get a 10% discount on any edition. Even if you don't plan to pre-order immediately and prefer to wait and see after the game launches, the membership still grants you a free trial of about 10 hours of gameplay.
Standard Edition
This edition is priced at the familiar $69.99. Beyond the base game, its pre-order perks are quite limited, making it best suited for casual players who focus on offline Career Mode or The Grounds, and who aren't aiming to build a top-tier Ultimate Team squad right away.
However, this edition offers one exclusive advantage not found in the other versions: an untradeable OVR 92+ ICON Player Item for use in FC 26.
Additionally,Standard Edition includes perks such as Dual Entitlement (allowing you to upgrade your game version when moving to a new console, like PS4 to PS5) and player/manager boosts to help you get a head start in Ultimate Team or Career Mode.
If you fit this player profile and are currently playing FC 26, pre-ordering Standard Edition of FIFA 27 is likely sufficient. It ensures a much smoother experience at launch compared to players who didn't pre-order.
Ultimate Edition
This year, Ultimate Edition remains priced at $99.99. If you are a hardcore Ultimate Team player who prioritizes competitive gameplay and doesn't want to fall behind during the early stages of the game, Ultimate Edition is an excellent choice.
In addition to OVR 92+ FC 26 player item and all Standard Edition pre-order perks, this edition includes Season 1 Premium Pass and a bonus of 6,000 FC Points, distributed over three months.
It is worth noting that none of the pre-order perks across any edition include Coins, unless they happen to be part of Premium Pass, and Coins serve purposes that cannot be replicated by Points or other special currencies.
So, if you want to avoid falling behind, in addition to choosing a superior pre-order edition, it is a good idea to pre-order FC 27 coins on IGGM. This ensures you can trade on the transfer market or unlock packs in the shop without any worries.
Before EA FC 27, Ultimate Edition also consistently enjoyed greater popularity. It not only offers more generous resources for the early game but also provides seven days of early access, allowing you to gain an advantage in the transfer market and build a head start in Champions and Rivals modes right from the launch.
Ultimate Plus Edition
We had originally predicted a price point of $119.99 or $129.99 for this edition, but the final price exceeded expectations at $149.99.
Fortunately, the perks included in this version are significantly richer. If you have plenty of time to dedicate to FIFA 27, don't want to miss out on any Season Passes, and are aiming for a top-tier collection, then unlocking Ultimate Plus Edition is the way to go.
Ultimate Plus Edition includes all the pre-order bonuses of the standard Ultimate Edition but upgrades the single Season Pass to five passes and adds 10,000 FC Points, distributed evenly over five months.
If you also own FUT 26, FC 27 Ultimate Plus Edition grants an Evolution perk usable in the previous game, allowing you to boost any player's physical attributes to 99.
This edition also includes Hall of FUT Player Pick perk, letting you choose one of five classic fan-favorite players: Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loic Remy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia.
As EA's first attempt at a super-ultimate version within FIFA series, Ultimate Plus Edition is essentially an all-inclusive annual pass; it is a worthwhile investment for players planning to play FUT 27 intensively throughout the year.
If we had to make a recommendation, we would still lean towards Ultimate Edition: it offers great perks and early access at a more wallet-friendly price.
Ultimately, however, there is no objective best choice among the three editions, it simply comes down to which one suits you best!
