Diablo 4 Season 12 Obducite Farming Guide: Fastest Ways to Get Masterworking Materials | Don't Waste Time on Low Yields!

In Diablo 4 Season 12, Obducite remains one of the game's primary Masterworking materials, used primarily to upgrade Masterwork gear ranks from levels 1 through 4. If you have specific, higher-tier enhancement needs, or are engaging in re-rolling, you will need to use Neathiron in conjunction with it.
This is especially true during the late-game season, when tackling high-difficulty content such as The Pit or the Butcher boss; Obducite is an almost indispensable material for every player looking to rapidly boost their character's power. Therefore, stockpiling Obducite immediately is something you absolutely must do right now.
It is worth noting that the methods for acquiring Obducite in Season 12 remain largely unchanged from the previous season, with one exception: the quantity of Obducite dropped within Horadric Strongrooms has been reduced. However, do not worry—that is not the only way to obtain it! Here, we will share several of the best methods to help you farm Diablo 4 Obducite efficiently. If you consistently utilize these strategies, after just a day or two of grinding, your Obducite reserves will probably once again be bumping up against the inventory cap—just like in the previous season.
As a side note, in Diablo 4's Season of Slaughter, the maximum limit for Obducite held by players has been increased from 999,999 to 99,999,999. Nevertheless, we still recommend keeping a close eye on your current balance to ensure that the materials you've worked so hard to farm do not go to waste.

Complete Nightmare Dungeons with Treasure Breach Affix
To collect Obducite quickly, we highly recommend targeting Nightmare Dungeons that feature Treasure Breach affix. This is a rare modifier that offers a significant gameplay boost; it triggers the spawning of a large number of Treasure Goblins, thereby providing a massive haul of loot, various crafting materials, and gold.
Given its exceptionally high farming efficiency, this affix is highly sought after by players; according to reports from some players, simply by repeatedly farming these specific dungeons over the course of just two days, they were able to accumulate over 100,000 pieces of Obducite.
You can randomly acquire Nightmare Dungeon Sigils featuring this specific affix by completing almost any activity in Diablo 4; however, the most reliable method for obtaining them is by crafting them at Occultist. It is important to remember that the crafting process does not guarantee a specific type of dungeon, as the outcome of crafting Nightmare Dungeon Sigils is entirely random.
However, once you reach Torment 4 difficulty, the probability of crafting these specific dungeons increases significantly. Therefore, if you haven't reached this difficulty level yet, I recommend holding off on crafting for now; instead, save up all your Sigil Powder and use it once you have attained that difficulty tier.
Now, let's look at why these particular dungeons are an excellent source for farming Obducite. It is well known that the standard method for acquiring Obducite involves repeatedly running various Nightmare Dungeons. The unique benefit of the Treasure Breach affix is this: every time you slay a Treasure Goblin, you are rewarded with 600 to 1,500 pieces of Obducite.
Treasure Goblins are the most basic variant of the goblin family, and typically, killing them in the open world does not yield Obducite. However, once inside a Nightmare Dungeon, the situation changes entirely—not to mention that with this specific affix active, you will encounter far more Goblins than usual!
Bring your most powerful speed-farming build into Nightmare Dungeon; in just a few short minutes, your Obducite reserves could skyrocket to as much as 50,000 pieces! With the right approach, you might even find that after just a few runs, you will no longer need to bother farming for Diablo 4 Obducite ever again.
Infernal Hordes
If you are aiming for maximum farming efficiency, the best location is the high-wave-count Infernal Hordes events. While completing the 6-wave challenge is certainly viable, the 10-wave challenge offers the highest overall efficiency in terms of total Obducite yield. You can acquire Obducite by collecting Burning Aether during the waves of attacks, and then - after defeating Fell Council - spending all your accumulated Aether to open the Spoils of Materials chests.
It is worth noting that the amount of Obducite dropped varies with each instance; however, during the higher-difficulty T1–T4 tiers, the quantity of materials dropped tends to increase significantly. Additionally, do not forget to prioritize eliminating Hellborne and other elite monsters during your runs; they yield higher amounts of Aether, helping you maximize your returns within a short timeframe.
Naturally, we primarily recommend farming Infernal Hordes. Aside from dropping substantial quantities of Obducite, these challenge sequences also offer a lucrative source of Diablo 4 Gold. Furthermore, by opening specific chests, you stand a chance of acquiring high-level gear featuring Greater Affixes.
Kurast Undercity
If you prefer playing in a group, the ideal method for farming Obducite has arrived: tackling Kurast Undercity. However, please be advised that this is a multi-stage, time-limited challenge dungeon introduced in Vessel of Hatred expansion; if you have not yet unlocked this content, feel free to skip this section.
Getting back to the task at hand: within this dungeon, you must slay hordes of enemies to extend your remaining time inside—allowing you to eventually challenge and defeat the last boss. You should focus on rushing quickly toward the stone pillars and clearing out the monsters on both the first and second floors to accumulate the necessary remaining time and buffs required to complete the high-level challenge. Once you successfully navigate Kurast Undercity and defeat its boss, you will be rewarded with Obducite and other valuable crafting materials.
If you manage to achieve a higher Attunement (Rank 4) upon completion, you can earn anywhere from 2,000 to over 5,000 Obducite for every successful run on Torment IV difficulty. Concurrently, do not forget to utilize a Tribute of Refinement during your run; this ensures that your final reward chest not only contains a generous haul of Obducite but also offers a chance to drop Masterworking materials.
Horadric Strongrooms
The next effective method for farming Obducite in Diablo 4 Season 12 that we would like to highlight is Horadric Strongrooms. Although Obducite drop rates within Horadric Strongrooms were slightly reduced this season, a single run can still yield thousands of units—a figure that remains exceptionally high when compared to other farming sources.
Head to Occultist to craft or re-roll Nightmare Sigils until you obtain a key specifically bearing Horadric Strongroom affix. Next, enter a dungeon and keep an eye out for purple indicator markers or treasure chests to locate Strongrooms. Once you have finished looting, exit immediately to reset the dungeon. This method is often significantly faster than clearing the entire dungeon from start to finish. You can also tackle these dungeons in a party to further boost your farming efficiency.
On Torment 4 difficulty, a single run through a Strongroom can yield approximately 2,500 Obducite provided, of course, that you have already maxed out your Attunement level.
Transmute Masterworking materials at Alchemist
Finally, beyond these seasonal events and dungeons, you also have the option to visit Alchemist to transmute higher-tier Masterworking materials, such as Ingolith and Neathiron, into Obducite. This conversion typically follows a 1:3 ratio, allowing you to downgrade high-tier materials for use in lower-tier crafting and upgrades. This serves as a primary method for acquiring this specific material when performing lower-tier Masterworking.
All in all, the methods outlined above represent the best ways to earn Obducite in Diablo 4 Season 12. With the recent increase in material storage caps, now is the perfect time to stockpile your resources. Don't let your Masterworking progress stagnate, master these Torment 4 farming strategies today!
