EA Sports College Football 27 recently released Title Update 3.5. This is a significant update, not only making numerous adjustments and optimizations to gameplay but also fixing several issues in Dynasty mode and Team Builder. Most importantly, it adds over 1900 new players! Below, I'll guide you through all the key highlights of this update.
Gameplay Adjustments: More Balanced Risk and Reward

Title Update 3.5 brings several important balance adjustments to gameplay, with the core idea of making matches more realistic and strategic choices more impactful.
Aggressive Blocking Will Be Penalized
One of the most noteworthy gameplay adjustments in Title Update 3.5 is the re-tuning of the aggressive setting in the blocking coach adjustment.
Previously, aggressive blocking had almost no negative effects. Players could keep this setting enabled for extended periods to enhance blocking performance with minimal penalty.
After the update, when the blocking coach adjustment is set to aggressive, the frequency of holding penalties increases significantly. This means that while players enjoy a stronger blocking effect, they must also bear the risk of being called for fouls, truly realizing CFB 27's high-risk, high-reward design philosophy.
Offensive Tackle Targeting Improved
Another important gameplay improvement is the optimization of offensive tackle targeting. When facing contain defenders, the offensive tackle can now achieve greater positioning depth, move more steadily to the outside, and effectively block contain rushes.
Previously, some contain blitz tactics could penetrate the offensive line almost every down, appearing too powerful. After the update, while these tactics haven't been completely weakened, they can no longer easily penetrate every down - the tackle will slide out better and intercept contain defenders.
The original intention of contain defense was to confine the quarterback to the pocket, not as a super-powerful pass angle that works on every down; this adjustment brings it back to its original design purpose.
Multiple Bugs Fixed
- Fixed an issue where offensive tackles wouldn't recognize linebackers: In a 33 Cub defensive formation, offensive tackles previously failed to correctly recognize linebackers when moved to wide alignment. This issue has now been fixed.
- Fixed unnecessary receiver jump catches: Previously, receivers frequently jumped to catch the ball when unnecessary, appearing unnatural. This has been significantly reduced after the update.
- Fixed slot defender flip desynchronization: When the offensive team flips formation, the slot defender's database sometimes wouldn't follow the slot receiver's movement. This issue has now been completely resolved.
- Fixed an error with custom adjusted defenders in hurry up.
- Adjusted defender non-engage win chances: Non-engage win chances have been optimized when the defender has a higher rating than the opposing blocker.
- Improved zone block targeting, making it suitable for various tactical types.
Team Builder and Dynasty Mode Fixes
Team Builder Stability Fixes
Team Builder received critical stability fixes in this update. Previously, some players used unofficial methods to create teams using unauthorized assets, causing stability issues in Team Builder.
After the update, all teams containing unsupported assets will be restored to the default options.
The official statement indicates that this stability fix is crucial for the long-term usability of Team Builder.
Dynasty Mode Fixes
Dynasty Mode also received several important fixes in Title Update 3.5, including resolving the issue where some players did not immediately gain Skill Points after obtaining Practice XP, requiring participation in official matches for the points to take effect. A bug was also fixed that displayed incorrect winners for Heisman Ceremony.
Furthermore, the official team corrected the scheduling conflict between Conference Championships and CFP First Round, both scheduled for December 19th, further improving the overall stability of Dynasty Mode and the rationality of the season flow.
Roster Update: 1900+ New Players Added
This is the most exciting part of the update - over 1,900 new players have been added to the NCAA 27. These include top freshmen for the 2026 season as well as previously missing upperclassmen.
For Dynasty players, this means a more complete roster of current players and a wider range of team-building options; while for CUT players, with the influx of new players, it's advisable to prepare sufficient CFB 27 coins in advance to cope with market changes.
Here are some of the high-rated freshmen added in this update:
| Player | Team | Position | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chris Henry Jr. | Ohio State | WR | 84 OVR |
| TK Keys | Tennessee | WR | 84 OVR |
| Jett Washington | Oregon | SS | 83 OVR |
| Derek Cooper | Texas | HB | 83 OVR |
| EJ Crowell | Alabama | HB | 82 OVR |
| Jared Curtis | Vanderbilt | QB | 81 OVR |
| Faizon Brandon | Tennessee | QB | 80 OVR |
Chris Henry Jr. is the most anticipated freshman in this update. As the highest-rated player in Ohio State's 2027 recruiting class, he was not included when EA CFB 27 was released, generating considerable interest among players. He has now officially joined the game with a rating of 84 OVR, adding a high-potential player to the Buckeyes' WR roster.

Another player attracting attention is Jared Curtis. This Vanderbilt QB joins the game with an 81 OVR, even higher than Tennessee's starting QB Faizon Brandon's 80 OVR. However, in the real season, Vanderbilt ultimately chose Blaze Berlowitz as his starter, which means Curtis's addition provides Dynasty Mode with more roster and development options.
EJ Crowell is one of the new running backs added in this Alabama update. Alabama has gained several high-rated newcomers in this update, including CB Jordan Edmonds (82 OVR), SS Jaylen Edwards (82 OVR), TE Mack Sutter (80 OVR), WR Sedarian Morgan (80 OVR), and OLB Xavier Griffin (80 OVR).
Oregon also saw significant additions, including SS Jett Washington (83 OVR), HB Tredarian Ball (82 OVR), Edge Anthony Jones Jr. (81 OVR), RG Tommy Togiai (80 OVR), and WR Jaylen Lott (78 OVR).
Overall, Title Update 3.5 is an important patch that balances gameplay, mode fixes, and roster updates. However, the biggest highlight is undoubtedly the addition of over 1900 new players. Many previously missing freshmen and upperclassmen have finally joined the game, significantly improving the depth and realism of the Dynasty mode roster.
Whether you play Dynasty, CUT, or other modes, Title Update 3.5 is worth paying attention to.
