College Football 27 is about to receive a major update. Although the official team has not yet released a complete announcement, the main changes can be inferred from previous statements by the development team, clues on social media, and adjustments that have already been implemented.

Second Title Update is expected to include roster adjustments, gameplay fixes, Dynasty and Road to Glory fixes, new uniforms, new equipment, and more. It is expected to go live before the real-world CFB season officially gets underway.

College Football 27 Second Title Update Preview | Major Changes Coming before Real CFB Season

Roster Update

Since the game received its first major update on August 5, the roster update has been one of the things most eagerly anticipated by the player community. It is important to note that roster updates and title updates are separate from each other, so they will be delivered independently.

According to the official commitment, this year's first roster update will arrive before the real college football season begins, making it more timely than in previous years.

This update will focus on adding a large number of incoming freshman players, including Ohio State wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis.

Because the game currently uses an NIL system, adding incoming freshman players is a relatively complicated process. The team must not only adjust existing players' team affiliations, equipment, and appearance details, but also enter all of the required data for every incoming freshman who is added.

There are already more than 12,000 players in the game, so second Title Update process takes considerable time. Although many players hoped to see all incoming freshmen available at launch so they could use them immediately when starting a Dynasty, this update will fill in as many of those missing faces as possible.

Gameplay Fixes

August 19 Minor Content Update

On August 19, the official team quickly fixed two gameplay exploits through a minor live content update.

Run-pass option play's on-target defender mechanic was disabled. Previously, players could exploit this mechanic to gain an unintended offensive advantage against man defense;

The handoff animation distortion issue in Buck Sweep running play was also adjusted. The problem had not become widespread, but the development team responded quickly and resolved it in a timely manner.

These types of live fixes show that the official team can now address certain issues quickly without having to wait for a full title update.

What Could Be Included in Second Title Update?

Removal of Speed Boosting

This is an issue that has drawn strong criticism from the player community. The technique allows ball carriers to gain an abnormal burst of acceleration immediately after starting a play. Although it is primarily used at a high frequency by the top 1% of players, it still has an impact on game balance.

The official team has already removed this mechanic from Madden NFL 27, and the upcoming update of CFB 27 is also expected to follow suit, eliminating this exploit completely.

Adjustments to Man Coverage Effectiveness

Man coverage has been extremely strong in both College Football 27 and Madden NFL 27. Defensive players stay extremely close to receivers, leaving very narrow passing windows.

Although man coverage had been too weak for years and strengthening it in NCAA 27 was originally a positive change, its current strength has led many players to simply set man coverage and use it throughout entire games, making matches feel repetitive while making offensive progression much more difficult.

The development team has confirmed that man coverage will be tuned, and players are hoping for moderate adjustments rather than changes that go too far and make the coverage ineffective once again.

Hurry-Up Offense Resetting Custom Adjustments

Custom Adjustments are one of the key tactical features introduced in College Football 27, but the hurry-up offense can sometimes unexpectedly clear players' preset defensive or offensive adjustments. The issue has been added to the list of fixes, and the upcoming update is expected to resolve it.

These adjustments should significantly improve CFB 27 multiplayer experience. However, strong players will bring you more victories. You can buy College Football 27 coins at IGGM.com to acquire more star players or use EVOs to upgrade your favorite players.

Dynasty and Road to Glory Fixes

Regarding these two major single-player and co-op modes, the official team typically does not reveal detailed changes too early, although members of the development team occasionally provide clues on social media platforms such as Twitter.

One confirmed fix involves the white helmet glitch, which occurs in Dynasty. Some players can unexpectedly appear with completely white helmets, making it a visual bug that emerged following the previous update.

Beyond this, Dynasty currently does not have any other major game-breaking issues, although the development team may optimize several smaller details. The exact changes will have to wait for second Title Update notes.

New Uniforms

Since the series was revived with College Football 25, almost every update has added newly released alternate uniforms and throwbacks from various schools. This update will also bring several completely new uniform sets:

  • Georgia's all-white uniforms
  • Tulane's Marty Gigard commemorative uniform
  • Arizona State's brand-new throwback uniforms
  • Tennessee's new gray uniforms

The timing for schools to provide uniform data to the official team varies. Some submit the information ahead of time, while others only transfer it after the uniforms are publicly revealed. As a result, some new designs may arrive later, but this update is expected to include several recently announced uniforms.

The information above consists only of changes that have been mentioned by the official team, hinted at by developers, or confirmed through data mining. However, some of these additions may not be released immediately. In addition, because the previous update contained a large amount of content, second Title Update is also expected to include more unannounced adjustments.
