WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Tier 4 Raid DPS Rankings | Which Classes Deal The Most Burst Damage After Bosses Nerfs?

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary will open in early 2026. However, before the official launch of this expansion, the developers have significantly nerfed Tier 4 raids, drastically reducing boss health and shortening raid fight durations.
This change undoubtedly leads to a very different combat rhythm for Tier 4 raids, with higher burst DPS becoming more favored. Below are the predicted DPS rankings in Tier 4 raids based on PTR testing.

Tier B
Shadow Priest
Shadow Priests are the biggest victims of the raid nerfs, mainly because the shorter fight times mean the mana shortage issue will be almost nonexistent. This reduces the core value of Shadow Priest as a mana battery.
Without this advantage, Shadow Priest's damage isn't particularly high, and its primary damage output is over time, making it less suitable for the current raid rhythm. Furthermore, its gear scaling is poor, with no room for improvement in the short term.
Its value is expected to rebound in more difficult raids in the future, but it performs the worst from a pure DPS perspective in Tier 4.
Druid
Both Druid DPS specializations, Feral and Balance, are performing poorly. Feral Druid is the worst performing of the two specializations. This is because its rotation is too complex. Players who want to play Feral Druid are advised to prepare a dual-spec build to tank in raids.
Balance Druid performs better than Feral Druid in the current environment. Many guilds tend to use Dreamstate Druid build (a healing Druid with a primary Restoration talent and Improved Faerie Fire talent in Balance tree).
This allows the team to gain key benefits without occupying a pure DPS slot, thus indirectly reducing the need for a Balance Druid. While some guilds with many Mages may still need Balance Druid's aura, its overall competitiveness is insufficient.
Shaman
Shaman DPS performance is actually decent, but due to nerfs, teams no longer need multiple Shamans, although they remain popular. Elemental Shamans benefit from shorter, more burst-oriented fights, resolving their traditional mana issues and making them arguably the third-best spellcaster DPS in Tier 4 raids.
Enhancement Shamans have also improved, but their performance is heavily reliant on gear. They might perform well early with top-tier gear, but other melee classes will scale better over time. They still provide significant Windfury Weapon buffs to melee-heavy teams.
Tier A
Retribution Paladins
Overall, the nerfed environment is very favorable for Retribution Paladins, as shorter fights allow them to use Seal Twisting more aggressively without mana concerns. However, their damage is heavily dependent on player skill and RNG, resulting in inconsistent DPS.
Rogue
In the traditional The Burning Crusade, Rogue was often considered one of the worst DPS classes due to its lack of utility. However, in the nerfed Classic TBC Anniversary, utility is less important.
Rouge's toolkit is entirely designed for burst meta. Adrenaline Rush and Blade Flurry boast high burst damage, capable of dealing massive damage from the very first second, making them a perfect fit for the post-nerf meta.
Warlock
Warlocks remain extremely strong, but their meta value has decreased compared to its initial state. This is because other classes have seen significant improvements, and this relative ranking drop may only be limited to Tier 4, as raids don't require multiple Warlocks.
Destruction Warlock performs best among all specializations, with a very simple gameplay and rotation. For novice players, Warlock is the easiest DPS class to learn.
Tier S
Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunters perform exceptionally well in the early game due to their pet management and high damage output, resulting in a relatively simple skill rotation and stability throughout The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. However, with the accumulation of gear and WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold, the top two classes will eventually surpass Hunters in performance.
Fury Warrior
Warriors are widely considered the strongest in the late The Burning Crusade era, but it seems they will become top contenders in the nerfed T4 phase.
Fury Warriors perfectly fit the nerfed meta, and their damage distribution is naturally suited for explosive sustained output. With shorter fight times, Death Wish and Recklessness will have a higher percentage of active time, resulting in extremely high DPS.
Arcane Mage
Arcane Mages have consistently been the highest DPS in Phase 1, but their fatal weakness is their extremely rapid mana consumption. In long fights, they require significant resource support.
However, in the nerfed T4, boss fights are typically shorter than 60 seconds. This means Arcane Mages can unleash massive burst damage, ending the fight before they even need to worry about mana.
No longer mana-dependent, raids can now use multiple Arcane Mages to instantly deplete a boss's health bar. Arcane is the perfect specialization for short combat situations, perhaps only rivaled by Fury Warriors.
The rankings above are predictions based on the nerfed meta. DPS meta will change again as TBC Anniversary progresses. If you want to gain an advantage in the first phase of The Burning Crusade, choosing the top three classes is a safe bet.
Although T4 raids have been significantly nerfed, some classes are heavily reliant on gear and items. If you need to replenish consumables or upgrade gear before entering raids, you can buy WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold in IGGM. Then you can loot everything you need from the auction house.
