WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Leveling And Farming Mechanics In Dungeons Overview
Posted: Sep 05, 2025 Views: 7
Even though WoW 20th Anniversary has reached the end of Phase 5, it's unlikely you'll be able to explore every available dungeon unless you play almost daily. After all, there are a lot of dungeons, and they get increasingly difficult as you level up.
However, to earn more gear and WoW Classic 20th Anniversary gold, in addition to completing the raids associated with each phase, you must clear these dungeons efficiently, especially if your character isn't fully leveled yet.
For this reason, this article provides a guide to the overall mechanics of WoW 20th Anniversary dungeons. With this information, you'll be able to adapt to any situation.
Basic WoW 20th Anniversary Dungeon Mechanics
First and foremost, all dungeons in the game require a group. Groups typically consist of five or ten players, with some dungeons limited to just five. A tank, a healer, and three DPS players are ideal for this purpose.
These dungeons include:
- Blackrock Depths
- Stratholme (Alive Side)
- Stratholme (Undead Side)
- Scholomance
How To Level In Dungeons?
To avoid the hassle of assembling a group before each dungeon entry, we recommend joining a group that you can play with regularly. This allows you to build synergy through repeated battles and improve your dungeon clearing efficiency.
While there are restrictions on team role assignments, you can choose your preferred class while adhering to basic principles. However, if you and your teammates simply want to complete farming or leveling quickly, there are two popular options.
1. Melee Cleave
This option focuses on leveraging Warrior's abilities like Cleave, Whirlwind, and Sweeping Strikes to consistently deal high damage to groups of enemies, while minimizing the time between farming dungeons using Rage system.
With this approach, your team should be primarily Warrior-based, with a Shaman and Paladin as a companion. Other than that, you can freely combine other classes, but Warrior is always the primary damage dealer.
2. Spell Cleave
The team build for this option should be centered around Mage. Mages can easily control multiple enemies with their Blizzard abilities and the talent Improved Blizzard, dealing powerful AoE damage to quickly complete dungeon farming.
Generally, as long as you ensure at least one Mage is in your team, combining other classes that also deal AoE damage is also possible, such as Warlocks with Rain of Fire and Hunters with Volley, as long as the total damage is sufficient.
More Specific Role And Class Selections
If you don't plan to utilize the above two options and prefer to freely combine your team, you'll need to carefully arrange the roles and classes of each member of your team based on the different divisions of labor in the battle.
Tank
In fact, in all types of combat, not just dungeons, the tank is responsible for maintaining threat, absorbing damage, preventing enemy damage, and healing.
Typically, the best tank choice is Warrior class we mentioned above. They can use their shield and consume threats to generate the abilities Sunder Armor and Shield Slam. Feral Druid and Protection Paladin are also good options.
DPS
Theoretically, all classes can deal damage, but to end fights quickly, it's recommended to prioritize Mage, DPS Warrior, Rogue, Warlock, and Hunter as your team's primary DPS. Hybrid classes are often better suited to serving as healers.
Healer
A healer's responsibility is to promptly treat the wounded or revive fallen allies to keep the team alive.
Holy Priest is often a good class choice due to its extensive healing abilities and buffs. Other possible classes include Restoration Druid, Holy Paladin, and Restoration Shaman.
