As we move into the latter half of September, the third Path of Exile 1 Race Qualifier is fast approaching. With only one more event to follow, the full roster of competitors qualifying for ExileCon 2026 race finals will soon be finalized.
As with previous events, Qualifiers 3 features exclusive Twitch Drops rewards that can be earned by watching the livestream for a specified duration. Below, we outline the details and provide some tips for Qualifiers 3, in case you plan to participate!

Qualifiers 3 Twitch Drops
For each round of Path of Exile 1 Race Qualifiers, you can earn Twitch Drops rewards by watching the official stream or other players' race broadcasts for at least 30 minutes within the first 24 hours of the event.
While the rewards for the first two rounds were Wild Footprints Effect and Scavenger Hood, Qualifiers 3 brings Darkshard Helmet Attachment.
Visually, this is a semi-covering helmet featuring two long, black demonic horns extending from the forehead and the back of the head, accented by black straps and silver buckles on the sides.
To be honest, the helmet evokes an eerie, intimidating vibe rather than a purely aesthetic one, so it may not appeal to everyone. Still, it's a free reward, there's no reason to miss out!

How to secure the top spot in Qualifiers 3?
As the penultimate qualifying round for PoE 1, Qualifiers 3 kicks off at 2 PM PDT on September 17. It runs for one week, concluding just before the next round begins.
In each qualifying round, only the first-place finisher claims the title of true winner and secures the substantial prize package, which includes a spot in the finals. To achieve this, you must complete Acts 1 through 5 as quickly as possible, culminating in the defeat of Kitava.
This means that even if you hold the top spot during the early days, you could still be overtaken by another player before the qualifier ends.
Therefore, if you decide to jump into Qualifiers 3 right at the start and take the lead, you'll need to keep a close eye on the standings throughout the week while also finding time to practice in SSF mode.
This means that if someone surpasses your record, you can create a new character at any time to challenge it again. If you set a record, your latest result will be recalculated and updated on the corresponding leaderboard.
Alternatively, you could choose to sit out the first few days of PoE 1 Race Qualifiers 3. Instead, you could focus on watching other players' livestreams to study and practice the fastest completion strategies, then make a comeback in the final day or two.
The advantage of this approach is that by compressing the remaining time, you minimize the window for others to overtake you again. However, this relies on your strategy being highly effective; otherwise, you will have limited opportunities for further attempts.
Act 1-5 walkthrough and tips
The first five acts of Path of Exile 1 constitute the first half of the campaign; this is a crucial phase for laying your character's foundation and setting up for fast progression.
Whether you are a newcomer or aiming to top the leaderboard in this qualifier, your core objective isn't to clear every map, but to level up as quickly as possible, farm more PoE currency and complete the acts.
Core principles to follow
First, prioritize eliminating enemies you can easily defeat based on your current level. Any death renders your character unable to act for a minute, severely impacting your final time.
Therefore, if you encounter dangerous targets, use movement skills to bypass them whenever possible and avoid direct confrontation.
Second, fully utilize anything that boosts your movement speed, such as prioritizing boots with movement speed modifiers.
Finally, ensure you build up various resistances based on the specific requirements of each act, using Crafting Bench to add resistance modifiers when necessary.
Detailed strategies
Beyond Kitava in Act 5, the first four acts of Path of Exile 1 feature their own final bosses. These are targets you must conquer; they also drop valuable loot that helps you progress more smoothly into the next act.
In addition to bosses, focus on unlocking and crafting the main skills and movement skills required for your build during Act 1. Act 2 is valuable primarily for providing access to a wider range of support gems.
Upon reaching Act 3, you can complete Trials of Ascendancy to unlock an Ascendancy class for your character, granting significant power enhancements. Afterward, continue refining your gear setup in Act 4 until you reach the final objective in Act 5.
The encounter with Kitava, the Insatiable
As the final boss of Act 5 and the finish line for Path of Exile 1 race qualifiers, Kitava primarily deals physical and fire damage.
Therefore, before initiating the encounter, you need to ensure your gear provides sufficient armor and have consumables ready to bolster your fire resistance as needed.
In addition to the boss itself, two mini-bosses, Champion of the Feast and Shaman of the Feast, will appear during the fight to disrupt your progress.
It is worth noting that while map layouts in standard Path of Exile gameplay are usually randomized, Path of Exile 1 & 2 qualifiers utilize fixed layouts to ensure fairness and consistency.
Although some players in the community have recently expressed dissatisfaction with Path of Exile 1 Race Qualifier map layouts, the development team cannot simply alter them based on such feedback. Consequently, the only way to achieve a strong result in Qualifier 3 is to practice hard and aim to beat the record!
