  Jeremy Peña had an outstanding July, hitting five home runs across six games from July 20 to 26. His performance earned him American League Player of the Week award for the first time in his career.

  Peña has remained in strong form heading into August. On August 1 against the Rangers, he went 3-for-5 with three hits and three RBIs.

  Jeremy Peña could receive significant upgrades to his Power against both sides, Contact, Vision, and Clutch attributes.

  An increase to 87 or even 88 OVR is possible. This is more of a long-term investment, making Jeremy Peña a solid and reliable option.

  84 OVR Drew Rasmussen | Tampa Bay Rays

  Drew Rasmussen continues to get better. Since All-Star break, Rasmussen has won five straight games. During that stretch, he has pitched 30 innings with a 1.20 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP, 35 strikeouts, and only six walks.

  He currently has an 84 OVR and a market value of around 2,500 MLB The Show 26 Stubs. An increase to 86 OVR is highly possible, which could mean roughly 1,200 Stubs of potential profit per card. That makes him a very worthwhile investment.

  84 OVR Dillon Dingler | Detroit Tigers

  Dillon Dingler can be considered one of the most underrated players in the league. His WAR this season is approaching 6.0, and he may be the best defensive catcher in the league behind only Patrick Bailey.

  At the same time, his offensive production has also been excellent, with his home run total approaching 30. His hitting attributes are currently mostly in the 70s, leaving plenty of room for improvement. He is a very safe option, and even if he does not reach Diamond this update, he could still reach 87 or 88 OVR by the end of the season.

  84 OVR Ceddanne Rafaela | Boston Red Sox

  Ceddanne Rafaela has made progress with his swing. He is controlling the strike zone better and hitting the ball in a more complete way rather than simply looking for extra-base power.

  In MLB The Show 26, this card has elite defense, but its hitting attributes are extremely poor, with both Contact and Power sitting at surprisingly low levels.

  However, that also creates an advantage. If he performs well offensively and receives attribute boosts, his overall rating could rise much faster than that of other hitters. He has a strong chance of reaching 86 OVR.

  84 OVR Fernando Tatis Jr. | San Diego Padres

  Through his first 22 games after All-Star break, Fernando Tatis Jr. has hit .307 with six home runs, 19 RBIs, and 19 runs scored. His performance against right-handed pitchers has been particularly impressive.

  He may not receive much of an upgrade against left-handed pitchers, but improvements to his attributes against right-handed pitching could be enough to push him to 85 or even 86 OVR. His current value is around 2,400 Stubs, so there is still room for growth.

  Low-Risk, High-Reward Players

  83 OVR Bryan Baker | Tampa Bay Rays

  Bryan Baker has allowed almost no runs since May and was selected to his first All-Star game, so he’s likely to see a rating increase.

  His current value is only around 1,300 Stubs. For players who recognize his potential, that is actually good news, making him an investment with very little downside.

  82 OVR Troy Melton | Detroit Tigers

  Troy Melton already rose from 79 to 82 OVR in the previous update. He currently has excellent strikeout ability and has been one of the best-performing pitchers in MLB this season.

  The reason he has been overlooked is that he did not enter the regular rotation until May, preventing him from ranking at the top of several statistical categories. Since returning on May 24, his ERA ranks second in the league, behind only Jacob Misiorowski of Brewers.

  He is one of the most attractive investment targets for this update and could even jump directly to Diamond.

  82 OVR Jesús Luzardo | Miami Marlins

  Jesús Luzardo was selected to All-Star team this season. Although his performances have been inconsistent at times in the past, he has been in excellent form throughout August, delivering outstanding starts against Nationals and Blue Jays. Across those two starts, he pitched 15 innings, allowed only two runs, and recorded 19 strikeouts. His consistent performance should earn him a modest upgrade.

  82 OVR Cade Smith | Cleveland Guardians

  Cade Smith is another underrated reliever who has allowed only one run over the past few months and has been outstanding. His excellent performance in May helped him earn an All-Star selection.

  His current market value is very low, making him an excellent low-risk investment. Even if he does not receive an upgrade, a significant drop is also highly unlikely, so there is little downside to holding him.
