  2026 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM Eastern Timeon July 14th. The game will be held at Philadelphia Phillies' home stadium, Citizens Bank Park.

  Overtime Rule: Home Run SwingOff

  If the All-Star Game is tied after nine innings, the game will not continue in overtime as in a regular season game. Instead, a unique Home Run SwingOff rule will be used. The specific rules are as follows: Each team selects three batters to participate in the SwingOff, and each batter gets three swings, with the coach pitching the ball. After each player has had three swings, the team with the most home runs wins.

  This rule was first used in the 2025 All-Star Game, when Kyle Schwarber of the National League for the Northern League (NL) hit three home runs, helping NL win the game. MLB The Show 26's Home Run Derby format also replicates this swing-based game rule.

  Head Coaches

  The head coaches of the defending AL and NL champion teams will coach the All-Star Game. AL's head coach will be John Schneider, head coach of the Toronto Blue Jays, marking his first All-Star Game head coaching role.   The 2026 American League All-Star roster has undergone several significant changes due to injuries. First, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., originally voted by fans to start first base, unfortunately had to withdraw due to injury. Starting outfielders Aaron Judge and Byron Buxton are also both out injured. Coincidentally, Nick Kurtz, who was originally slated to replace Vladimir Guerrero Jr., is also unavailable due to a thumb strain.
