Helldivers 2 Into the Unjust Patch 6.0.1 Strengthens Combat And Gear | Can You Survive the Automatons' Deadly Attack?
Category: Helldivers 2 Posted: Feb 04, 2026 Views: 1011
Helldivers, your contributions to Super Earth have paid off. The situation is now largely stable, and we can now organize a counter-offensive against the enemy's lair. However, the despicable Automaton Collective has stolen Super Earth's peace weapons. Therefore, as instructed by High Command, your next mission will be an attack on Automaton!
Helldivers 2 Into the Unjust Patch 6.0.1 brings new equipment and supplies to the battlefield, along with a series of important balance adjustments and bug fixes. See which weapons are most effective at destroying these mechanical thieves.

New Features and Core Adjustments
Bastion Tank
The new Bastion Tank is a powerful team-oriented vehicle. Its main cannon is incredibly powerful, capable of destroying transport ships directly, much like the old recoilless rifle, without needing an attack engine. It can also destroy a Factory Strider with a single headshot.
Its coaxial machine gun is equally powerful, appearing to be a 2000-round heavy machine gun (HMG) with considerable output.
However, this tank is not very player-friendly, as players cannot switch between the driver and gunner positions without leaving the vehicle. This limits its practicality in single-player mode, making it more suited for team play.
Melee Damage Mechanism Refactored
A core adjustment in this update is the removal of melee damage from Peak Physique and Rock Steady passive skills, replacing them with a direct buff to the base damage of all melee weapons.
This means players no longer need to equip these two passive skills to achieve decent melee damage. While these skills still provide additional damage, players have more freedom to choose other equipment such as Med-kit.
SMG and Pistol Crosshair Sway
This update completely reverts to the crosshair sway mechanism for SMGs and pistols introduced in previous versions. This change was considered by many players to be one of the worst changes to the game.
After the revert, the feel of precision SMGs and secondary weapons has significantly improved, becoming usable again. While the drag changes remain, they are much more acceptable than reticle sway.
Weapon And Equipment Balance Changes
Weapons
P-72 Crisper (Pistol)
P-72 Crisper's magazine capacity has been significantly increased. However, due to the current issue with the fire damage mechanism (enemies often ignore flames and pass right through), this buff may not immediately change its weak position.
GL-21 Grenade Launcher
GL-21 Grenade Launcher now possesses heavy penetration capability. However, since most heavy units have extremely high resistance to blasts, this change is likely primarily used to finish off wounded heavy enemies, rather than directly against units like Bile Titans or tanks.
Throwables
G-7 Pineapple
You can now carry one more G-7 Pineapple, and the carry limit is now 4. However, its overall power and cost-effectiveness are still inferior to regular fragmentation grenades, limiting its practicality.
G-31 Arc
The carry limit has also increased by one. However, G-31 Arc suffers from uncontrollable ricochets and low damage, making its use not recommended.
Strategic Equipment
- SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack: The respawn cooldown after the shield is destroyed has been reduced to 1 minute.
- Orbital Smoke Strike: Cooldown reduced by 25 seconds, but given the specific use of smoke grenades, this change has little impact.
- StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher: Its unguided mode has been moved from the right to the left.
Vehicle Changes
Enemy damage to durable vehicles has been increased, making the new Bastion Tank less sturdy than expected against Automatons. However, Helldivers can now reload inside their FRVs, a welcome change.
Enemy Faction Adjustments
Enemies like Automatons will now aim more accurately, which is why Helldivers feel more difficult.
- Dragon Roach: Health reduced, but this is only a temporary measure. The fundamental problem lies in its unpredictable hit detection and damage capable of instantly killing a Dragon Roach.
- Devastator: Arms are no longer sturdy, making them easier to disarm.
- Rocket Units: Rocket Raider, Rocket Devastator, and other small robotic rockets deal increased damage to vehicles.
- Gunship: Accuracy improved; its rockets seem to be more effective at knocking players away.
- Overseer: Increased effectiveness against mechs.
- Crescent Overseer: Its attacks now cause stun and deal increased damage. Its attacks were already accurate and could be launched from behind cover, and its high damage makes it even more difficult to deal with.

Bug Fixes
Stability
Fixed some fundamental issues that caused devices to crash; the game will now crash normally instead of lagging.
Commando Rockets
Fixed the technique of firing from behind cover. This technique itself wasn't very powerful.
Turrets
Fixed an issue where turret bullets wouldn't hit their summoners. Players now need to be more careful with their automatic turrets.
Rapid Acquisition Mission on Difficulty CR7-10
The enemy spawn rate has been reduced, bringing its difficulty closer to other missions. While the high density of combat is gone, this avoids a decline in experience due to additional performance overhead.
Overall, Into the Unjust Patch 6.0.1 is a decent update. Most notably, the removal of crosshair sway for SMGs and pistols has significantly improved the handling of many weapons. The refactoring of melee damage mechanics is also a positive change, giving players more freedom in gear customization. However, enemies have been strengthened in various ways, meaning Helldivers will still face challenging combat.
Many players have reported that the game has become more difficult after Patch 6.0.1, due to more accurate enemy attacks and less reliable vehicles. But Warbond can offer you new weapons and armor, and you can buy Helldivers 2 Super Credits in IGGM to unlock Warbond, thwart Automatens' plot, and defend the glory of Super Earth!
