Helldivers 2 released a major update on February 10, 2026, titled Machinery of Oppression. This update not only extends Galactic War directly to Cyberstan, but also brings back humanity's most threatening enemy ever - the Cyborgs - once again threatening the freedom and sovereignty of Super Earth and its inhabitants.
With the return of Cyborg sub-faction, Helldivers must delve into the shadowy streets of Cyberstan and traverse massive factory cities to stop Cyborg Legion and swarms of automatons before they can cooperate, breach their defenses, and ultimately destabilize Cyberstan's stable rule. Thus, the arrival of Machinery of Oppression marks the official start of a new chapter for this cooperative shooter.
Now, let's jump straight into what's happening in Cyberstan world of Helldivers 2.

The Cyborgs
First, the brand-new main storyline, Machinery of Oppression, is now available. You can travel to Cyberstan at any time and fight the three new cyborg enemies added to the game.
The Radicals
First and foremost, the most anticipated - the Radicals. These guys are a hybrid of flesh and machine, and they look incredibly cool. They are much larger than Helldivers, equipped with close-range shotguns, and possess formidable melee capabilities. Furthermore, they are skilled in martial arts, making them truly formidable opponents; fighting them will definitely be a tough battle.
The Agitators
We will also encounter another enemy – the Agitators. These guys are also quite powerful, capable of controlling subordinate automated machines and making tactical decisions for the entire squad. Visually, they are usually heavily armored, but they are not invulnerable; their back radiators are weak points that can be targeted. In any case, this unit's performance on the battlefield is highly anticipated.
The Vox Engines
Finally, and perhaps the most terrifying enemy, is the Vox Engines. This is a colossal war machine piloted by high-ranking Cyborg officers, equipped with dual laser cannons, rockets, and laser gatling guns. This massive machine roams Cyberstan, and its head is equipped with loudspeakers that blare Cyborg propaganda. Ignore this propaganda and relentlessly destroy it with the supreme power of freedom.

Factory Cities
In addition, we have discovered new factory buildings within the automaton mega-cities. These heavily fortified industrial complexes are fraught with danger, and we must liberate them, for what they produce serves only one purpose: to destroy our way of life in the most brutal way.
Since the automatons occupied Cyberstan, it has been polluted, forming new mega-factory cities. Therefore, Helldivers' mission here is not only to fight these terrifying Cyborgs in the harsh environment that powers the machine war, but more importantly, to destabilize Cyberstan and ultimately stop the production of more factories.
Furthermore, amidst the dense factories, there appears to be a new administrative building that resembles a cathedral. It might be a Cyborg's place of worship or a location spreading Cyborg propaganda, or it could be another important building we must destroy.
Galactic Reinforcement Counter
However, missions on Cyberstan are far more dangerous than on other planets. Here we might see some Cyborgs carrying Automaton Legion insignia; note that this insignia is particularly anti-democratic, and any Helldivers encountering it should destroy it immediately.
More importantly, due to the addition of Galactic Reinforcement Counter, battles against large numbers of Cyborgs can only be fought by a limited number of Helldivers. If the counter reaches zero, the operation will be terminated as invalid, and the battle for Cyberstan will be considered a complete failure. To cope with this situation, players should focus more on their own and their teammates' survival, employing defensive strategies and using buffs wisely.
New Weapons
Finally, Helldivers, new firepower arrives with Machinery of Oppression update. They proudly introduce TD220 Bastion, a direct upgrade to the TD110, the first such weapon in First Galactic War.
The Bastion is equipped with a 120mm main battle gun capable of firing high-explosive rounds and a coaxial heavy machine gun. The tank can carry a full crew, including a driver, a gunner, and two support passengers. So, drive your tank, fight your way through the cities of Cyberstan, and ultimately conquer the capital!
In addition to the new tank, Helldivers 2 also launched a brand-new warbond on February 3rd - Siege Breakers - providing players about to parachute into Cyberstan battlefield with new weapons to fight against the Cyborgs. This warbond includes a laser shotgun, an explosive sledgehammer for demolition, a belt-fed grenade launcher capable of causing massive explosions, and a powerful new disposable rocket launcher. However, please note that all of these require getting Helldivers 2 Super Credits to unlock!
In short, with this Machinery of Oppression update, we see the studio's ambition to further expand the game, bringing a whole new meta-gameplay. Now players can more clearly understand the consequences of their chosen actions and attack the planet from many different angles.
So, Helldivers, join the game now, besiege Cyberstan's new stronghold, stop them before Star of Peace is replicated, and wipe the cyborgs off this planet completely!
