Grand Theft Auto VI is set to plunge us into an underworld far more complex than anything we've seen before: a world where various factions - from street gangs and motorcycle clubs to potential paramilitary groups - vie for power and profit.
Drawing from the official GTA 6 trailers, screenshots, and various leaks, we've compiled an overview of the known gangs, their territories, and the roles they play in the game's narrative.
San4San
First up, we'll introduce San4San, one of the street gangs that appeared most prominently in the trailer. They control La Perle district of Vice City - a neighborhood widely considered a digital recreation of Miami's Little Haiti.
The gang's name carries a connotation of blood for blood in Haitian Creole, and its members display a strong sense of affiliation: some have the word Perle tattooed on their chests, while others wear thick chains emblazoned with the gang's initials.
Beyond their involvement in the drug trade, they also operate a legitimate record label called Sound4Sound.
As for its real-world inspiration, San4San gang in GTA 6 bears a striking resemblance to Miami's Zoe Pound - a criminal organization that originated among young Haitian immigrants and later developed into a group involved in cocaine trafficking and maritime piracy.
The blue bandanas worn by members in the trailer may remind players of Haitian gang from previous entries in the series; however, San4San is clearly a fresh, reimagined faction rather than just a simple rename.
PTT Youngin$
Another group, PTT Youngin$, is an emerging gang that, while not yet the subject of extensive public information, maintains a significant presence in the southern part of Vice City.
According to details gleaned from GTA 6 promotional materials and screenshots, this group is regarded as one of the most flamboyant and active gangs in the area.
They wield considerable influence on social media, and raiding their hideouts may yield unique items or contraband. Members of PTT Youngin$ are dressed in neon shades of bright blue, pink, and green - a look that stands in stark visual contrast to the aforementioned San4San.
Notably, the appearance of motorcyclists sporting the same color scheme in La Perle neighborhood has led players to speculate about a potential territorial conflict between PTT Youngin$ and San4San.
Boobie Ike
Boobie Ike is another major figure in Vice City, presiding over a drug empire, the record label Raw Records, and Jack of Hearts strip club. His roster of talent includes artists such as Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez.
In the leaked official demo, we see protagonists Jason and Lucia engaging in a drug deal with San4San. Boobie Ike begins as a partner, but later betrays both San4San and the protagonists during a shootout at a crack house.
This antagonist appears to be inspired by the real-life Kenneth Sorrell Williams and his drug-trafficking organization, Boobie Boys.
Active in Miami during the 1980s and 1990s, this group also had ties to the hip-hop music industry.
If Boobie Ike of Grand Theft Auto VI is indeed based on Williams, it is highly likely that he commands his own gang - functioning as more than just a standalone drug lord.
Final Chapter MC
Venturing outside the city limits of Vice City, one's attention is inevitably drawn to Final Chapter MC (Motorcycle Club) in the town of Ambrosia.
Official descriptions note that while the local Allied Crystal Sugar Refinery provides employment, this motorcycle club seems to supply almost everything else. This suggests a relationship with the refinery that could be either symbiotic or defined by a power struggle.
The club's logo features a grinning Grim Reaper holding an open book, with the year 1982 marked as its founding date.
Furthermore, based on their color palette and organizational structure, Final Chapter MC appears to be modeled after the real-life Bandidos Motorcycle Club (founded in Texas in 1966).
Additionally, we noticed that some club members have enforcer patches on their vests, indicating a clear hierarchical structure - a detail that aligns more closely with how real-life motorcycle clubs operate compared to Lost MC in GTA 5.
Potential Returning Gangs
In previous titles, Vice City Bikers were led by Mitch Baker and modeled after Hell's Angels; however, there has been no direct mention of them in the information released so far regarding GTA 6.
That said, given that the development team has introduced a club based on Bandidos - who are, in reality, rivals of Hell's Angels - it remains possible that this classic biker gang could make a return in the game.
Additionally, leaks from a debug version of the user interface contain traces of a Far Right Militia, featuring labels such as training, trucks only, and final visit.
It is currently unclear whether this group exists as a formal, persistent faction, if it appears only for specific missions, or if it functions as a hostile entity - much like Altruist Cult in GTA 5.
Diversity of Gangs
All things considered, what we know so far makes it clear that GTA 6 features significantly greater gang diversity than its predecessors.
The distinct color schemes of San4San and PTT Youngin$, combined with their respective presence in the game world, set the stage for future conflict.
Groups like Boobie Ike and Final Chapter MC further elevate the depth and richness of GTA 6 experience.
Various gang factions control different areas throughout Vice City and its surroundings. Players must navigate through this environment, and preparations - such as acquiring weapons and vehicles or conducting early-stage exploration - all require financial backing.
You can buy GTA 6 money to gain a head start, allowing you to access various gang-controlled zones and dive into the action more quickly once the game launches.
With multiple factions intertwined this time around, every choice players make in Leonida could be fraught with hidden tensions.
