GTA 6 Trailer 3 isn't Even Here Yet, and Fans are Already Worried About a Downgrade

Category: GTA 6 Posted: Jul 31, 2026 Views: 21

To this day, no one knows when Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 3 will be released, or even if there will ever be a Trailer 3. But regardless of when or if it will be released, online discussions about whether the trailer and the final version will differ significantly have already begun.

Frankly, it's not that people are targeting GTA 6 specifically, but that they've developed a psychological aversion to the game industry's tendency to advertise one thing and deliver another.

So, are players' concerns about GTA 6 Trailer 3 justified?

It's Happened Before

Over the past decade, too many game trailers have looked like Hollywood blockbusters, only to feel like completely different games when you actually play the final version.

Some grass looks bald, some lighting is darker, and some streets are less populated with pedestrians and vendors.

The development team always claims this is to optimize frame rate, but the real feeling for players can be summed up in two words: cost-cutting.

The key point is that GTA series has done this before: in early trailers for GTA 5, the vegetation density, road reflections, and explosion effects were significantly more elaborate than the final version. While the differences weren't drastic, they were definitely noticeable.

So, when people think of GTA 6 Trailer 3, their first reaction isn't excitement, but rather, "Will the game be the same on my console?"

Will hardware upgrades alone be enough?

Some players argue that the PS5 is ten times more powerful than the PS3, so it shouldn't be unable to handle a bustling street scene, right? - That sounds reasonable, but the problem is that GTA 6 itself is also being inflated.

The map is several times larger than before, the seawater needs to be more realistic, car collisions need physical deformation, the weather system needs to affect pedestrians and traffic… all of these things are competing for performance. Adding a hundred more pedestrians might mean sacrificing half a street's worth of lighting and reflection effects.

In other words, it's like your salary increases, but rent and the cost of living also rise, leaving you with very little money for an extra nice meal.

The number of characters and items in the scene might vary depending on the time of day. The bustling atmosphere shown in the trailer might not be consistent throughout the entire game; it could only be at specific moments, something players might overlook.

In reality, Miami Beach isn't packed every day or every hour, right? It's crowded on weekends and during spring break, but almost deserted on Monday mornings or at 3 AM. If Grand Theft Auto VI incorporates a weekday cycle and holiday system, then varying crowd density is normal.

Of course, this is just speculation. If the beach is empty regardless of the time or weather in the final version, it's likely because of performance cuts.

Would a densely packed scene be fun?

Another point many players might not have considered: the screen teeming with people in the trailer might not be comfortable to play in real life.

Imagine driving along a coastal highway, only to find the road full of sunbathing tourists and running children. Hit one and you're wanted; hit two and you're immediately pursued. How are you supposed to complete the mission?

Many open-world games actively control the flow of people in certain areas to make movement easier. Otherwise, driving would be slower than walking, which would be incredibly frustrating.

So even if the final version of GTA 6 has fewer people, it might be a trade-off made by the development team to make the game smoother, not entirely a performance issue.

Skilled But Challenging

We must admit that while GTA 5 faced some controversy regarding its downgraded graphics, the development company redeemed themselves with Red Dead Redemption 2.

That game truly brought the town market to life on older consoles. NPCs had their own routines: they went drinking, took walks, and sought shelter from the rain. The details were excellent, and the trailers and the final version were very similar.

This shows that the team has the ability to optimize, and they're not just using trailers to fool people.

However, that market area is actually quite small, just a few streets. If GTA 6 were to create a map of the entire state, the coastline could stretch for several kilometers, making optimization a completely different level of difficulty.

You can't expect a large open area in the game to have the same density as a small square; that's unrealistic.

In short, everyone's concerns about GTA 6 Trailer 3 are normal, but it's unnecessary to draw conclusions now.

Overall, it's perfectly reasonable for players to be skeptical of the trailers. After all, they've been fooled too many times over the years, especially with GTA 6 raising expectations to the max. Who dares to allow it to have any flaws?

But to say that the actual GTA 6 launch will be completely empty is overly pessimistic. The most likely scenario is that the scenes will be closer to the trailers during specific times and events, while the density will be concentrated during normal exploration, and less so at night or on rainy days.

Whether Trailer 3 is reliable or not is another matter; having enough resources in your own game account is the most practical thing - to prepare your in-game resources, you can pre-order GTA 6 money at IGGM!

GTA 6 hasn't been released yet, and Trailer 3 hasn't arrived either, so the most stable approach is to keep an eye on things and make a judgment after everything is released.
