Forza Horizon 6's Garage System offers more features than its predecessors, not only adding extra customization options but also expanding social functions - allowing you to admire your creations together with your friends.
The garage in Forza Horizon 6 lets you either save time by directly applying ready-made designs or craft a unique personal space of your own. Let's begin with the very first garage and see how you can build your very own car showroom.

Acquiring Property and Garages
To unlock the garage feature, you first need to own a property in the game. If you have obtained the premium upgrade, you can get a house for free. Otherwise, you will need a certain amount of Forza Horizon 6 credits to obtain one. Each house you acquire unlocks a brand-new, customizable garage attached to it.
Early in the game, you can unlock Mei's House at no cost. In total, there are eight residential properties available for trade and customization. The physical floor area of each garage is fixed and cannot be expanded, but a single garage can display up to four of your favorite cars at the same time.
There is also one large garage with 78 parking spaces. Together with the garages inside the other eight properties, your total collection capacity becomes quite impressive.
Building Your Own Garage
This is the core upgrade in FH6's gameplay, allowing you to decorate your garage much like in The Sims. Go to any residence, select Customize Garage tab at the top, and you will enter the decoration mode.
From your collection you can pick your favorite cars, adjust their positions and angles, use the precision free camera to fine-tune your view, and change the movement speed. Choose furniture and decorations from the item library and place them as you like.
Pressing Tab key brings up important options, including different floor and wall materials. If you make a mistake, use the selection mode to remove objects. However, you might encounter a minor bug from time to time; in that case, resetting the layout is the simplest solution.
If you are not satisfied with your current design, you can choose to reset the garage. The system will return some of your credits, letting you start over. This mechanism encourages you to experiment boldly without worrying about wasted resources.
Copying Others' Designs
Once you enter the garage interface, you will see several key options: Customize Garage, View Garage, Browse & Manage, and Display Vehicles. Among these, Browse & Manage actually points to the community garage - that is, a collection of ready-made designs uploaded by other players.
You can download and use complete garage layouts shared by other players. However, applying a downloaded design requires you to spend Forza Horizon 6 credits to acquire the decorations featured in it. You can preview the most popular schemes first; some player-favorite designs may need fewer credits than you expect.
It is important to note that once you have copied someone else's garage, you can no longer modify its layout. Nevertheless, you can always reset it and recover a portion of your credits.
If you feel your garage is missing some cool sports cars, you can participate in IGGM Forza Horizon 6 Cars Giveaway; the winner can choose any 5 cars for free!
Expanding Your Vehicle Collection
If you want to fill your garage with a variety of Forza Horizon 6 cars, exploration on the map is the primary way to acquire new vehicles, in addition to trading cars and using prize draws.
Barn Finds
There are 15 hidden classic old cars on the map. Once repaired, you can drive them away. After receiving a clue, a purple circle appears on the map. Enter that area and focus on looking for unmarked dirt roads - they usually lead directly to the barn.
Treasure Cars
The map contains 9 treasure cars, one per zone. Finding these is more challenging because the system gives only a vague photo as a clue, forcing you to interpret the location yourself. As soon as you receive the clue, switch to the drone's top-down view - it can greatly improve your search efficiency.
Aftermarket Cars
Discounted second-hand cars appear at random locations on the map. When you approach one, the mini-map shows a green car icon with a CR label. These vehicles refresh randomly, so it is worth checking back from time to time.
Property-Specific Rewards
Acquiring certain houses grants special buffs that allow you to obtain more cars and additional garage display slots:
- Mei's House: Unlocks Car Trader ability, enabling vehicle transactions at Auto Show.
- Soko 78: Rewards "Import & Export", giving a 5% discount when trading cars at Auto Show.
- Vision House: Rewards "Travel with Friends", which adds an extra 10% skill score when performing LINK skills.
- Akusan Mountain Lodge & Vision House: These two properties provide an "Extra Garage Slot" each, increasing the number of vehicle display slots in a garage by one.
While customizing your garage, you might accidentally trigger features such as Barn Finds or new Badges - for example, discovering a hidden classic vehicle. After completing your garage, you can enter photo mode and adjust the focus to capture your most satisfying angles.
If you have plenty of time, it is recommended to start from scratch, adding items one by one and tweaking the layout - enjoy the joy of creation. If you simply want a nice garage in a hurry, you can directly copy a popular, cost-effective design from Forza Horizon 6 community, saving both time and effort.
