Diablo 4 Season 5: The Theme Of Season Of The Infernal Hordes Shares Both Merits And Deficiencies
Category: Diablo 4 Posted: Aug 22, 2024 Views: 3183
As we all know, Diablo 4 Season 4 has reached the peak of the game since its release, and the new content of Season 5 was launched this month.
Diablo 4 Season 5 is known as Season of the Infernal Hordes, which is set to start on August 6 and running through the beginning of Vessel of Hatred expansion, which concides the publication of Season 6 on October 8. Although the duration is relatively short, the content in it has also won the appreciation and love of many players.

The Season of the Infernal Hordes is aimed to introduce a new mode of game which is based on the story of fighting back against the minions of Mephisto, Lord of Hatred in Vessel of Hatred. Therefore, players will own enough time to make preparation for the content of next season.
As a key character of Season 6, players must understand the content of this season in order to prepare for Vessel of Hatred expansion. However, considering the fact that the length of Season 5 has been shortened, this important turning point in the fight against the forces of Hell may not be able to wield the true function of it.
Season Of The Infernal Hordes Serves As A Precursor To Season 6
The highlights of the previous season were mainly some changes to itemization, and an overhauled Helltide to promote player’s game experiences and feelings. But there are still some shortcomings. For example, the lack of quest lines.
In Diablo 4 Season 5, this shortcoming has been well made up, and it has laid a good foundation for the next world of Sanctuary for Vessel of Hatred. This continuity is also one of the highlights of Season 5.
Diablo 4 Season 5 focuses on the titular Infernal Hordes, legions of demons who show their loyal to Mephisto. They have taken their journey to flood Sanctuary to make some preparations for Mephisto’s return in Vessel of Hatred.
As a result, players will fight waves of Infernal Horde in this mode and setting. If you can survive long enough and defeat the enemy, there are many rich and special rewards waiting to be obtained. The new seasonal quest will be expanded in Seasonal Realm to lead players get through lower World Tiers.
Next, players will be exposed to the fundamental Infernal Horde quest which only could be accessed to at World Tier 3. To ensure smooth access to World Tier 3 and start the seasonal journey, it is best to prepare some Diablo 4 Gold to help you fight enemies.
Once the player has the right to reach World Tier 3, they are also being allowed to get known as the primary Infernal Horde questline in Eternal Realm.
Some Deficiencies Of The Theme Of Season 5
Devoting an entire season to the game’s new mode is a good move to allow players to get a good understanding of Vessel of Hatred expansion itself. However, as an episode of the new season, Season 5 is too short and may not attract the attention and discussion it deserves. It also bears the risk of being covered by Vessel of Hatred expansion, because Season 5 not only represents the preparation for the next season in terms of content, but also lasts for a short time.
If players choose to wait for the publication of Vessel of Hatred and overlook the existence of Season 5, then it can be counted as a pitiful thing, especially regarding the short duration of the season, which may limit players’ attention to the storyline. But fortunately, Infernal Horde mode and its questline will be accessed to on Eternal Realm even after the season comes to a conclusion, meaning players can still look it up once Vessel of Hatred launches.
If you have great enthusiasm about Diablo 4 Season 5, welcome to join IGGM discord. A lucky draw event will be conducted in its Giveaway channel on August 26. And 100 Torment Duriel materials, 100 Torment Andariel materials, 1,000 Stygian stones and 2,000 Exquisite Blood will be given away for free. Participate in and you will own the opportunity to get them.
The above is the sharing of the theme of Season of the Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4 Season 5. Due to the duration of the issue, this theme has both advantages and disadvantages, becoming a double-edged sword.

Why are Bac and Ohm Runes the secret to craft the strongest Mythics in Diablo 4 Season 12? Master the ultimate farming guide!
While you might currently be looking forward to the second Diablo 4 expansion, which set to launch in a month, the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, introduced many new mechanics that remain highly valuable and relevant today.
Chief among these are the rune and Runeword systems. By socketing these into your weapons and armor, you can gain exclusive buffs and benefits that are simply unobtainable through any other game mechanic!
However, the amount of gear you can equip and the number of runes or Runewords you can socket into that gear is limited. Consequently, you might be unsure which runes are the most worthwhile choices for Season 12.
With this in mind, we will focus this guide on recommending Bac and Ohm runes, detailing their specific effects and explaining how to farm them.

Rune system overview
This feature was introduced alongside the launch of Vessel of Hatred DLC and Season 6; therefore, if you wish to utilize runes today, you must first own this DLC.
All runes fall into one of three rarity tiers and belong to one of two categories: Runes of Ritual or Runes of Invocation. The former features a yellow icon, while the latter features a purple one; combining one of each type allows you to form a Runeword.
It is important to note that individual runes are inert on their own; they only become active and trigger their synergistic effects when combined in pairs and socketed into a piece of gear that possesses two sockets.
In essence, runes only become functional once they have been assembled into a Runeword.
More specifically, a Rune of Ritual generates offerings during combat. These offerings serve to empower the corresponding Rune of Invocation and trigger the combined effect of the Runewords. Your objective is simply to fulfill the specific requirements needed to generate these offerings.
What is Bac rune?
In Diablo 4, Bac rune is classified as a yellow Rune of Ritual. It generates 50 offerings, and its activation condition requires you to move a distance of 5 meters from your current location.
The most common application for this rune is to pair it with a Rune of Invocation, such as Ohm or Vex, to leverage their combined synergy and significantly boost your character's mobility.
Additionally, Diablo 4 Bac rune is one of the essential crafting materials required to create Mythic item known as Shroud of False Death.
How to craft Shroud of False Death?
Once you have unlocked Torment I difficulty or higher, you can acquire Mythic items by farming lair bosses or participating in other endgame events within the game; however, the specific rewards obtained through these methods are entirely random.
Therefore, if you wish to specifically obtain Shroud of False Death, crafting is your best option. To do so, you will need to gather the following materials:
- 2 Resplendent Sparks
- 6 Bac runes
- 6 Kry runes
- 6 Moni runes
We will cover the general methods for acquiring runes shortly; however, since Resplendent Spark is a rare item, its primary acquisition methods are as follows:
- Salvaging unwanted or duplicate Mythic items
- Progressing through Seasonal Journey and Reputation tracks to earn rewards
- Defeating Echo of Lilith (drops one upon defeat - one time only)
What is Ohm rune?
As a rune designed exclusively for Barbarian players, Diablo 4 Ohm rune requires its paired Rune of Ritual to provide 600 offerings to activate; it has a cooldown of two seconds.
The rune's sole bonus effect is to evoke Barbarian's War Cry, thereby boosting your damage output by 15% for 6 seconds.
Much like Bac rune, Ohm rune is also one of the materials required to craft Mythic Ring of Starless Skies:
- 2 Resplendent Sparks
- 6 Ohm runes
- 6 Tzic runes
- 6 Cem runes
It is worth noting that the crafting recipe for all Mythic items follows this same pattern: 2 Resplendent Sparks, plus six runes each of legendary, rare, and magic rarity.
How to farm runes?
Broadly speaking, there are two methods for obtaining runes in Diablo 4: farming and crafting. Neither method allows you to specifically target and acquire a particular rune; however, crafting does allow you to influence the rarity of the rune you ultimately receive.
Clearing Kurast Undercity
This dungeon was added to the game via VoH expansion. To unlock it, you must first complete the campaign quest Reunion within this DLC and ensure your character has reached at least level 15.
Afterward, a new quest chain titled The Kurast Undercity will guide you through the dungeon step-by-step until you are fully familiar with the area.
The unique feature of Kurast Undercity is its time-limited mechanic: you must defeat enemies within a specific time limit. However, defeating higher-level Afflicted Monsters will restore a greater amount of your remaining event time.
Defeating enemies does not grant immediate rewards; instead, you earn Attunement Points. Once the dungeon run concludes, your final rewards will be calculated based on the total points you accumulated.
Additionally, you may encounter special beacons within the dungeon. Activating these beacons triggers optional events for you to complete, providing you with extra Attunement Points and combat buffs.
If you wish to engage in more targeted farming within Kurast Undercity, you can first collect Tributes by completing other world events. Submitting these Tributes prior to your run will grant you specific bonuses based on the type of Tribute submitted.
Among these, Tribute of Harmony is the one relevant to runes. If you submit this Tribute before clearing Kurast Undercity, the total number of runes you obtain at the end will be doubled.
Defeating lair bosses
Theoretically, all lair bosses in Season 12 have a chance to drop runes; however, the highest rarity boss Belial is undoubtedly the best choice for farming.
Regardless of which boss you ultimately decide to farm, you must first acquire the corresponding lair keys. These keys are required to unlock the boss's hoard after it has been defeated, allowing you to claim all the rewards contained within, including runes.
Crafting at Jeweler
Jeweler is a vendor in Diablo 4 that allows you to perform various crafting operations. To craft a new, randomized rune, you must consume three unused runes of the same rarity, along with 4,000 gold.
The type of rune produced is independent of the specific runes used as materials; however, the rarity of the resulting rune is directly determined by the materials used. The resulting probabilities are as follows:
- Three magic runes: 85% chance for 1 magic rune; 15% chance for 1 rare rune.
- Three rare runes: 85% chance for 1 rare rune; 15% chance for 1 legendary rune.
- Three legendary runes: 100% chance for 1 legendary rune.
That wraps up everything we have to share with you this time. Although Bac and Ohm are highly sought-after, as long as you combine them effectively, acquiring other runes can be just as rewarding!

Diablo 4 Season 12 Review: Why being The Butcher might not be enough to save this Buggy Grind?
It has been over a week since the launch of Diablo 4 Season 12, how has your experience been so far? While our current impressions may not be entirely comprehensive, they offer a genuine, real-time perspective.
This season centers around themes of blood and slaughter, with its seasonal gameplay revolving primarily around The Butcher and various Bloodied activities.
Given that the second DLC is slated to launch in just a month, Season 12 clearly serves as a transitional phase; however, this does not excuse the development team from delivering a quality experience.
Below, we present a comprehensive, real-time review of Season 12, evaluating its various gameplay features and their performance over the past week.

Are Slaughterhouses worth playing?
This newly added dungeon serves as one of the primary battlegrounds where you get to play as The Butcher. Once you have obtained a Slaughterhouse Key by clearing Helltides, simply select the key from your inventory and interact with the dungeon entrance on the map to enter.
While inside the dungeon, you can go on a rampage as The Butcher to earn loot. Other players can also enter the dungeon while it is active, which may lead to issues regarding loot distribution and competition.
First, it must be admitted that the ability to transform into The Butcher is genuinely fun, the experience is particularly enjoyable when using this method to level up your alternate characters.
However, the awkward reality sets in once the battle is over: compared to other endgame activities, the loot drops in Slaughterhouses are generally underwhelming. For instance, you must complete the dungeon six times just to earn a single skill point.
On the other hand, as you progress through the season, you can earn Slaughterhouse Keys more quickly by increasing your Reputation level; yet, the inherent lack of value in the dungeon itself ultimately renders this accelerated access somewhat pointless.
The Broiler lair boss battle
During Season 12, you can view The Broiler as a variant of The Butcher, specifically, a unique Lair Boss encounter or a distinct challenge phase related to him.
The primary drop obtained after defeating The Broiler is Fresh Meat, which can be exchanged at vendors for powerful Bloodied items. This special gear improves itself by acquiring unique affixes based on the tier of your current Killstreak.
From a visual standpoint, the arena design for this Lair Boss battle is excellent. Furthermore, beyond just Bloodied items, trading your Fresh Meat offers a chance to gamble for even rarer Mythic items.
While Slaughterhouses can indeed drop Fresh Meat, The Butcher lair boss battle surpasses them in every respect, both in terms of the quantity of drops and the sheer fun and value of the gameplay experience itself.
Bloodied and Blood-Soaked Sigils
The primary function of these two items is to allow you to earn greater rewards upon victory by increasing the difficulty of the enemies or the dungeon itself.
Specifically, Bloodied Sigils utilize exclusive affixes to guarantee that The Butcher will appear during the modified event; furthermore, the difficulty of all other enemies will be raised one tier higher than your current global difficulty setting.
Blood-Soaked Sigils operate similarly to Bloodied Sigils, with the key difference being that they elevate enemy difficulty to a level approaching Tier 100 of The Pit, provided, of course, that you have already unlocked that specific tier.
If you are keen on dedicating a significant amount of time to playing Season 12, the challenges presented by Bloodied Sigils will undoubtedly satisfy your appetite.
However, it is precisely this combination of high rewards and extreme difficulty that makes things a bit tricky, as some of the content appears to be designed specifically for builds centered around the powerhouse Paladin class or other high-tier characters.
This comes as unwelcome news for players who wish to challenge themselves but find their options limited by their choice of class or available gear. While Paladin is certainly fun to play, the experience loses its luster if you feel forced to choose it just to keep up.
Analysis of the current loot landscape
First off, Bloodied items, a signature feature of Season 12, are quite interesting in their own right. They become particularly appealing if you manage to roll additional boosts to various core attributes, as this allows for even deeper levels of optimization within your gear enhancement system.
In terms of gear drop rates, Season 12 is actually quite generous; provided you actively engage with the various gameplay activities, you stand a good chance of acquiring gear pieces featuring double, triple, or even more Greater Affixes.
However, an awkward issue arises when you attempt to further enhance this gear. For instance, when imprinting an Aspect onto a standard piece of gear that lacks Greater Affixes, the resulting numerical values consistently default to the lowest possible tier.
While this issue does not affect Mythics or gear pieces that already possess GAs, standard gear currently constitutes the backbone of most players' build-crafting efforts.
Consequently, this bug prevents players from making progress according to their plans during the early stages of the season.
Furthermore, if you attempt to claim Paragon points awarded as seasonal progression rewards, you will discover that they simply fail to register in your character's inventory.
Furthermore, this applies even if you managed to secure the Resplendent Sparks reward chest on the very first day of the season.
While some of these bugs were subsequently resolved, the launch day of Season 12 was indeed plagued by numerous issues, problems significant enough to have wasted your time and effort.
More importantly, as of now, the drop rates for various crafting materials, particularly items like Obducite, remain consistently low. This scarcity prevents you from further enhancing your acquired gear through mechanics such as Masterworking.
Summary
In terms of new gameplay mechanics, specifically the various design elements centered around The Butcher, Season 12 offers some rather innovative concepts.
However, regarding the ultimate rewards and overall balance, it falls short of expectations; consequently, content like Slaughterhouses is almost certain to be forgotten as the season progresses.
Additionally, the loot system suffers from unbalanced drop rates, and the early days of the season, were rife with bugs, a combination of issues that has severely dampened players' enthusiasm for the seasonal grind.
Most notably, Paladin class currently offers a far superior gameplay experience compared to the others, leading one to suspect that Diablo 4 is deliberately attempting to entice players into pre-ordering Lord of Hatred expansion. This sensation of being coerced into making a trade is truly unpleasant.
As a concise and focused transitional season, Season 12 should have aimed to delight players and build anticipation for the upcoming DLC; instead, it has erected various obstacles in their path.
The above constitutes our preliminary review of Diablo 4: Season 12, based on the current state of the game. Whether you choose to invest your time in playing remains entirely a matter of your personal preference. Regardless, we wish you the best of luck in the new season!

Diablo 4 Season 12 Rune Farming Guide: Tribute of Harmony Strategy for guaranteed drops in T4 | Nerfs won't stop us!
Fellow Diablo fans, today we want to talk about Runes in Season 12. Yes, in this season, Runes continue to hold a pivotal position in crafting endgame builds; through various combinations of Ritual and Invocation Runes, they provide characters with powerful skill boosts and defensive enhancements. Runes harbor immense energy, not only do they allow you to trigger class-exclusive skills from other classes, but they also serve as indispensable key materials for crafting Mythic Unique items at the Jeweler.
So, let's take a look at how to collect these runes in Diablo 4 Season 12. Follow along to see how hardcore players are achieving massive power spikes this season by leveraging the power of Runes!

Rune Drop Rates Nerfed
Before we dive in, if you've already created and started playing your seasonal character, you may have noticed that in D4S12, many avenues for obtaining specific items have been significantly nerfed. This includes not only the drastically reduced drop rate of Obducite in Horadric Strongrooms, which we mentioned previously, and the methods for unlocking Mythic Unique items, but naturally, the farming of legendary Runes has not escaped these nerfs either.
Consequently, compared to Season 11, acquiring legendary runes in S12 has become more difficult. To be honest, this move has sparked considerable controversy within the player community; given that this season's duration is already shorter than usual to align with the upcoming Lord of Hatred Expansion release on April 28th, the pace of farming Diablo 4 Runes should theoretically have been increased to compensate. However, contrary to expectations, we did not receive such improvements.
Farming Kurast Undercity with Tribute of Harmony
No matter since the current situation is set in stone, we simply have to find a way to make the best of the existing conditions. First and foremost, there is no doubt that the absolute best method for farming legendary Runes right now is by utilizing Tribute of Harmony within Kurast Undercity. In fact, as early as Season 11, this method was already widely recognized as the most effective way to acquire runes. However, back then, the channels and opportunities available to us for acquiring Tribute of Harmony were far more numerous than they are today.
Precisely for this reason, even though the efficiency of this particular farming method has diminished somewhat, it remains, among all the farming strategies available this season, the undisputed best choice.
Tributes of Harmony can be deposited into the braziers located within Kurast Undercity. When you successfully clear this dungeon, performing this action guarantees that you will receive a substantial bonus drop of Runes upon the dungeon's completion. Notably, if you are playing on Torment 4 difficulty, defeating a single boss can yield as many as 10 Runes; furthermore, a significant portion of these drops will consist of Legendary Runes.
How do you collect Tributes of Harmony?
However, the current challenge lies not in clearing Kurast Undercity dungeon itself, but rather in acquiring that crucial consumable: the Tribute of Harmony, after all, this is the essential material required to double your Rune drops.
In Season 11, thanks to various powerful season-exclusive mechanics, we were able to effortlessly stockpile vast quantities of Tributes of Harmony. In Diablo 4 Season 12, however, the sources from which we can obtain these Tributes have become few and far between.
Currently, the primary source for Tributes of Harmony drops is The Pit. While running The Pit, you will occasionally encounter Tribute drops, roughly once every 4 to 5 runs, and there is a strong probability that the item you receive will be the very Tribute of Harmony you have been tirelessly seeking. Therefore, if you intend to specifically farm for this item, we strongly recommend that you focus your efforts on The Pit first and foremost.
Additionally, Tributes of Harmony can be obtained from Whisper Caches, particularly those specific caches that contain Dungeon Keys.
You may also find this Tribute on Treasure Goblins, specifically Glittering Prym Goblins. Unfortunately, Goblins are difficult to farm in a concentrated, targeted manner, resulting in a relatively low farming efficiency.
Finally, World Bosses also serve as an excellent source for obtaining Tributes of Harmony; however, for obvious reasons, you cannot farm them indefinitely by repeatedly killing the same World Boss. Therefore, it is recommended that you first farm Tributes of Harmony in The Pit, and then deposit these Tributes into the altars within Kurast Undercity to harvest several Legendary Runes upon completing the run.
Of course, you can also enter Kurast Undercity directly to take on the challenge without depositing any Tributes; simply press Activate button to begin. In this scenario, the last boss still retains a chance to drop a Rune for you, though the farming efficiency is significantly reduced.
Defeating Lair Bosses
Additionally, there is another excellent source for farming Runes: defeating Lair Bosses. This is particularly effective when defeating bosses on Torment difficulty or higher, where Rune drop rates are exceptionally high—with Belial offering the highest probability of dropping Legendary Runes.
We recommend that you first farm Living Steel in Helltide zones; this is one of the essential materials required to open the boss chest after defeating Grigoire on Torment difficulty. It is worth noting that Grigoire drops not only Runes but also Mucus-Slick Eggs—the very item required to challenge the boss Duriel.
Consequently, by using Mucus-Slick Eggs obtained from Grigoire to defeat and loot Duriel, you can secure additional Runes from him. Furthermore, while you are locked in battle with these bosses, there is a chance you may trigger the appearance of a hidden boss: Mini Belial.
This boss also has a chance to drop Runes, as well as a special material known as Betrayer's Husks. You can then take these Betrayer's Husks to challenge Belial, whose boss chest will, in turn, yield additional Runes. This constitutes the complete process for utilizing Lair Boss mechanic to acquire Legendary Runes. While it is a more involved process than the previous method, it remains a reliable source for obtaining Runes.
Converting Runes at Jeweler
Finally, there is one last, highly important tip for acquiring runes. If you are looking to obtain specific Legendary Runes, you can visit Jeweler to upgrade your Rare Runes into Legendary Runes.
However, please note that you must consume three identical Rare Runes to convert them into a single, randomly selected Rare Rune. However, during this conversion process, there is a 15% chance that a random Legendary Rune will be generated. Consequently, this presents you with an opportunity to acquire a legendary rune. If you happen to have a large stockpile of Rare Runes on hand, this is absolutely an excellent way to put them to good use. May RNG gods be in your favor!
These are all the reliable methods for obtaining Legendary Runes in Diablo 4 Season 12. Of course, if none of the aforementioned methods appeal to you—yet you still wish to quickly acquire specific Rare Runes—you can head over to IGGM to buy cheap Diablo 4 Runes you need. This allows you to spend the time you would have otherwise spent farming runes on the brand-new Slaughterhouses event and Butcher mechanics instead, letting you simply sit back and enjoy the game!

Diablo 4 Season 12 Every Lair Boss Key Location and the fastest ways to farm them | All three tiers explained in one go!
Regardless of the season, as you delve deeper into your exploration of Diablo 4, you will encounter a wide variety of bosses. Ranked from easiest to hardest, these include world bosses, lair bosses, and pinnacle bosses.
While Pinnacle Boss, Lilith, is undoubtedly the most dangerous of the bunch, the numerous lair bosses serve as the primary source for core gear. Furthermore, to claim this loot, you must first farm the specific keys required to access the lair bosses.
Each boss possesses its own unique key, which is used to unlock the hoard that appears after the boss is defeated, the very place where all the loot is hidden.
Notably, Season 12 introduces a new lair boss: The Butcher. Based on this addition, we present to you a complete guide to Season 12 lair keys and how to farm them.

Lair boss keys overview
First, it is important to clarify that all lair bosses are categorized into three tiers, from highest to lowest: Exalted, Greater, and Initiate. Of these, Exalted tier currently consists of only one boss: Belial, the Lord of Lies.
Additionally, beyond specific Diablo 4 lair boss keys, all Initiate-tier lair bosses drop Stygian Stones. These items can be used to craft keys for Greater-tier lair bosses (with the exception of Vessel of Hatred boss).
Initiate lair boss keys
This tier comprises a total of five bosses; however, Urivar can only be challenged if you own Vessel of Hatred expansion. The specific keys required for each boss, along with the quantity needed to unlock a single Hoard, are as follows:
- Varshan: 12 Malignant Hearts
- Grigoire: 12 Living Steel
- The Beast in the Ice: 12 Distilled Fear
- Lord Zir: 12 Exquisite Blood
- Urivar: 12 Judicator's Masks
The sources for all Initiate lair boss keys are largely consistent, involving approximately four distinct methods. We will outline each of these methods below.
Tree of Whispers rewards
Once you have completed or skipped the main campaign, you will unlock access to Tree of Whispers. You can then begin earning Grim Favors by completing various World Events across the map.
For every 10 Grim Favors you accumulate, you must return to Tree of Whispers to redeem them. You can receive standard rewards such as gold and XP, and choose to select a specific cache, categorized as Normal, Greater, or Ancestral.
Exploring Undercity of Kurast after submitting Tribute of Titans
Undercity of Kurast is a dungeon exclusive to Vessel of Hatred DLC. Before entering the dungeon, you can submit Tributes to increase combat difficulty and loot quality, or to specify the type of loot you wish to obtain.
Specifically, Tribute of Titans is a tribute designed to boost the drop rate of lair keys as loot within Undercity of Kurast. You can acquire this tribute by defeating lair bosses, obtaining Whisper Caches, or running high-level Pit tiers.
Defeating world bosses
As the most fundamental type of boss in Diablo 4, world bosses do not spawn at fixed locations; instead, they appear randomly across Sanctuary at specific time intervals. The world bosses you may currently encounter include:
- Ashava, the Pestilent
- Avarice, the Gold Cursed
- Wandering Death, Death Given Life
Each world boss carries a Grand Cache, which, in addition to lair keys, may contain Legendary and Unique items. However, if you fail to defeat the boss, it will escape, taking the cache with it!
Mercenary Bartering
This system allows you to trade with Bartering Vendor, Fayira, to acquire various items; the special currency required for these transactions is Pale Marks.
To unlock this vendor, you must reach friendship level 5 with any one of the four mercenaries. Subsequently, raising each individual mercenary's Friendship Level to 8 will unlock their full range of trade options.
If you wish to prioritize unlocking the trading channel for lair keys, you should focus on increasing your friendship level with Subo. However, please note that Mercenary Bartering feature is accessible only to owners of Vessel of Hatred DLC.

Greater lair boss keys
With the exception of The Butcher (introduced in Season 12), the other three Greater lair boss keys are obtained by defeating specific Initiate Bosses:
- Duriel: 3 Shards of Agony - Varshan and Grigoire
- Andariel: 3 Pincushioned Dolls - The Beast in the Ice and Lord Zir
- Harbinger of Hatred: 3 Abhorrent Hearts - Urivar
The Butcher - Pound of Flesh
Lair bosses of any tier have a chance to drop this key upon defeat; additionally, the general methods for exploring Undercity of Kurast (as described above) also apply. Furthermore, you can acquire Pounds of Flesh by completing Bloodied Activities.
Bloodied Activities is a gameplay feature exclusive to Season 12. It requires you to first acquire Bloodied Sigils from other endgame world activities, and then use them to transform standard activities into their Bloodied variants for completion.
Notably, Bloodied Sigils invariably carry Relentless Butcher affix; this guarantees that you will encounter The Butcher during the subsequent engagement.
Exalted lair boss keys
Opening Belial's Hoard requires two Betrayer's Husks. These lair keys can be obtained either as drops from Mini Belial encounter or as rewards from the current season's reputation system.
Mini Belial has a low probability of appearing randomly after you have defeated other lair bosses; therefore, you should aim to complete as many lair boss battles as possible to maximize your chances.
The above covers all the information you need to know regarding the acquisition of every lair boss key in Season 12. While gathering a sufficient supply of every key type can be a challenging task, if you take it one step at a time, you are bound to succeed!

Diablo 4 Season 12 Crackling Energy Sorcerer Build guide | Unleash Lightning that melts bosses instantly!
Crackling Energy Sorcerer was a massive favorite back in Diablo 4 Season 11. A quick look at the Sorcerer leaderboards in The Pit showed countless players mastering this build, and in Season 12, it remains one of the most dominant forces in the entire game. Its power rivals that of any top-tier setup, including Paladin.
This build offers incredible clear speed, making it a top-tier choice for fast farming. More importantly, it handles the increased difficulty introduced in Season 12 with ease. Its greatest strength lies in its phenomenal single-target damage. In short, it excels in every scenario and is a blast to play.

How Crackling Energy Sorcerer Works?
Esadora's Overflowing Cameo
This entire playstyle is built around one key item: Esadora's Overflowing Cameo. A Sorcerer has multiple ways to generate Crackling Energy, such as through the skill Ball Lightning or the passive Static Discharge. These energy orbs appear on the ground when monsters are defeated or when certain skills trigger.
Upon picking up Crackling Energy, you gain stacks, and your character becomes wreathed in arcs of lightning that automatically strike nearby foes.
When you reach maximum stacks while wearing Esadora's Overflowing Cameo, a cascade occurs, rapidly unleashing all stored energy. At this moment, every lightning arc focuses on the single closest target, delivering a continuous barrage of strikes ten times faster than normal.
This is the secret behind the build's incredible single-target damage. During boss encounters, you will witness their health bar vanish as you effectively channel all your area-of-effect power onto them.
As for groups, your clear speed is determined by how quickly you can chain through individual monsters. However, with constant Teleports to reposition, the efficiency is surprisingly fast in endgame, whether you're leveling or farming Diablo 4 gold.
How to Scale Your Damage?
The damage of Crackling Energy is boosted by global damage modifiers and specific bonuses to Lightning damage. However, the most significant and impactful way to scale it is by stacking skill ranks.
The discharge from Esadora's Overflowing Cameo benefits exponentially from your skill ranks. Therefore, the core of this build is to maximize this stat as much as possible.
Vex Rune
A previous bug prevented Vex Rune's bonus to skill ranks from applying to amulets, but this has now been fixed. Utilizing it to boost your skills effectively grants a massive 180% multiplicative damage increase, making the build even more formidable.
Core Skills
This build features three Core skills on its action bar simultaneously: Charge Bolts, Chain Lightning, and Ball Lightning. This strategy allows affixes on your weapon, offhand, and gloves that grant ranks to Core skills to benefit all three simultaneously, maximizing the return.
All Add Skills Level Affixes
When you have affixes that boost all skills, this multiplier applies to a wide range of abilities—the three Core skills plus various passives—making it incredibly potent. Ultimately, your total skill ranks can easily reach around 100, which translates to a 10 to 12-fold multiplier for Esadora's Overflowing Cameo's discharge.
Crackling Energy Sorcerer Skills
The following skills should be placed on your action bar:
- Teleport
- Chain Lightning
- Ball Lightning
- Charge Bolts
- Unstable Currents
- Lightning Spear
Beyond the action bar, skills like Familiar also require some of your skill points, as it can be triggered by your Ultimate, Unstable Currents. Other skills such as Ice Armor and Flame Shield are utilized through their enchantment effects.
Your primary method of dealing damage is to cast Ball Lightning frequently. Your Ultimate ability, Unstable Currents, randomly triggers various lightning skills, including Charge Bolts.
Charge Bolts serves as a vital AoE skill. When triggered, it fans out, dealing widespread damage and helping you rapidly clear packs of lesser monsters.
Lightning Spear contributes additional damage and, crucially, applies Vulnerable to all monsters it hits. Combined with Aspect of Shredding Blades, it deals even more damage to vulnerable enemies.
Crackling Energy Sorcerer Gear
While Esadora's Overflowing Cameo is absolutely essential for Crackling Energy Sorcerer, several other items can be swapped based on availability. Here are some of the key Uniques you'll aim for before acquiring Mythic items:
- Esadora's Overflowing Cameo
- Temerity
- Godslayer Crown
- Orsivane
- Raiment of the Infinite
- Galvanic Azurite
- Esu's Heirloom
Although the build doesn't carry active defensive skills on its bar, your character is far from fragile.
Orsivane is a core weapon for this setup. Besides granting ranks to Core skills, its unique property provides a significant damage reduction bonus as long as you have no defensive skills on your bar.
You can place defensive skills in your enchantment slots to gain their benefits for free.
- Ice Armor: Using a healing potion automatically grants a robust barrier.
- Flame Shield: Taking fatal damage or dropping to critically low health automatically triggers Flame Shield, protecting you from harm.
Temerity, the unique pants, allows you to generate a barrier simply by dealing damage. Given the high attack frequency from Crackling Energy, Lightning Spear, and your Ultimate, this barrier is almost constantly active, greatly enhancing your survivability. Any hit that isn't strong enough to eliminate you in one blow is quickly absorbed by this barrier.
Mobility
In addition to Teleport on your skill bar, you can socket a Jah Rune to gain a second Teleport charge, further boosting your movement speed through maps.
If you want to push speed to its absolute limit, you can swap to The Oculus. Its effect resets Teleport's cooldown whenever you strike an enemy with it, enabling a chain of endless teleports to instantly traverse entire zones. You can keep The Oculus in your inventory and equip it specifically for situations demanding maximum speed.
Crackling Energy Sorcerer is an incredibly versatile build and is exceptionally well-suited for tackling the challenging bosses introduced in Diablo 4 Season 12. If you enjoyed it in Season 11, you'll find it remains a powerhouse in Season 12, made even stronger by the fix to Vex Rune interaction.

Stuck on The Pit? These 3 Diablo 4 Season 12 Meta Builds will blast you past Tier 100!
Although Diablo 4 Season 12 offers a wealth of playable content, The Pit remains the top favorite among many veteran players. It not only provides valuable rewards but also delivers a unique, fast-paced pushing experience.
However, maximizing both the rewards and the enjoyment of The Pit hinges on one crucial factor: utilizing builds that excel at clearing enemies quickly and efficiently within the current season's meta.
Without such builds, reaching the higher tiers of The Pit becomes an incredibly difficult challenge.
In this guide, based on the current state of Season 12, we will recommend several builds designed to help you rapidly conquer more than 100 tiers of The Pit, even during the early stages of the season!

The Pit Overview
This Diablo 4 endgame activity is officially known as The Pit of Artificers. Once you reach level 60, you can initiate a run by consuming 3 Artificer's Stones.
Each entry into The Pit offers up to 150 tiers to unlock, subject to a 15-minute time limit. The faster you clear each individual tier, the more new tiers you will unlock for subsequent runs.
If your character unfortunately dies during combat, 30 seconds will be added to your timer; this time penalty doubles and stacks cumulatively with every subsequent death.
Regardless of how many tiers you ultimately complete, once the timer runs out, you will be able to claim your rewards, typically consisting of Legendary or Unique gear, as well as various crafting materials.
Non-Mythic Speed Paladin
As the name suggests, the greatest advantage of our first recommended build for pushing The Pit is immediately apparent: it allows for rapid progression without the need for Mythic items! After all, while Mythics are undeniably powerful, they can be quite difficult to acquire during the early stages of a season.
To craft this build, you must first equip Godslayer Crown and pair it with the appropriate runes. By utilizing Runes that help supplement your critical hit chance, specifically GAR Rune, you can synergize with the helm to pull all nearby monsters directly toward you.
This setup ensures that whenever you apply crowd control effects to enemies, the effect of the runes is triggered. By layering other complementary runes on top of this foundation, you can trigger these effects even more frequently, allowing you to execute multiple consecutive evasions.
Juggernaut Oath skill is an absolute essential, as it grants you increased damage against crowd-controlled enemies. Additionally, do not forget to select Aspect of Glynn's Anvil for your boots to ensure you can quickly stack your Resolve to its maximum capacity.
Finally, you must ensure that your gear includes affixes that reduce your evade cooldown whenever you deal damage; without this specific stat, the entire build will fail to function correctly.
The core damage rotation for this build involves first using Arbiter of Justice to perform an evade, immediately followed by an attack, then another evade, and another attack. As long as you maintain this rhythm, virtually all skill effects will trigger automatically.
Consequently, not only does this build have low requirements regarding gear rarity, but it also features a very low operational difficulty. Aside from The Pit, it is highly suitable for tackling most standard seasonal content.
Zealspin Paladin
It must be said that, even after undergoing several nerfs, Paladin continues to hold a dominant position in the current state of Diablo 4.
This build leverages a variety of synergistic effects to deal massive damage; furthermore, when paired with Arbiter, it allows you to cast spells and inflict damage upon enemies while simultaneously evading attacks.
In terms of combat style, it actually bears similarities to the previous Paladin build; however, Zealspin Paladin relies more heavily on Mythic gear.
First and foremost, Heir of Perdition provides a multiplicative damage bonus of up to 60%. Moreover, if you are tackling The Pit in a party, and other teammates are also wearing this specific piece of gear, this effect can stack even further.
As for the chest armor, we recommend Shroud of False Death; its exceptional affix, granting +1 to the ranks of all passive skills, is simply perfect. Amulet of Jacques' Fervor grants you an additional strike damage bonus of up to 20% for every stack of Fervor you accumulate.
Additionally, you should prioritize stacking cooldown reduction attributes on your gear to ensure that Arbiter remains active at all times.
If you feel this level of reduction is unnecessary for your playstyle, you are free to swap out these attributes to better suit your specific needs.
Evade Spiritborn
Historically, most Spiritborn builds have been renowned for their wide-area damage coverage and excellent movement speed, qualities that are immensely beneficial for clearing The Pit.
Building upon this foundation, Evade Spiritborn build stands out as a particularly exceptional performer in this regard. Therefore, if you plan to continue playing Spiritborn class in Season 12, this build is undoubtedly your top choice for all manner of speed farming activities.
Regarding Mythic gear requirements, this build calls for Shroud of False Death. For Spiritborn class specifically, this item's greatest benefit is that if you have not dealt any damage within the past 2 seconds, you gain Stealth and a 40% increase in movement speed.
The choice of Spirit Hall is a crucial element in enhancing the effectiveness of your class and its associated builds; specifically, Double Eagle Spirit Hall is the ideal choice for Evade Spiritborn.
With this setup, in addition to activating Evade, your Primary Spirit Hall allows you to simultaneously unleash a volley of storm feathers every time you cast Evade or Seeker.
Meanwhile, your Secondary Spirit Hall ensures critical hit triggers and provides buffs specifically tailored to capitalize on Vulnerable effects.
If possible, we recommend acquiring Loyalty's Mantle unique item to further boost the overall potency of your Double Eagle Spirit Hall setup.
The above represents our recommendations for several builds that strike an excellent balance between speed and damage while farming The Pit.
Feel free to further optimize these builds based on your own preferences, or experiment with other playstyles to discover new possibilities!
