No More Crafted Mythic Limits after Patch 3.1.1a! Your Ultimate Diablo 4 Season 14 Farming Guide Just Changed

Diablo 4 Season 14's fate took another turn. After Patch 3.1.1 failed to completely quell player dissatisfaction, the studio swiftly released Patch 3.1.1a on July 16th, making a second round of emergency adjustments to Mythic Unique system. This patch's core content is only a few points, but each one directly addresses the most painful issues for players since the launch of Season 14.
3.1.1a Patch Core Changes Explained
Crafted Mythic Limits Completely Removed

At the beginning of Season 14, Mythic Unique items crafted through Horadric Cube were marked as Crafted. Previously, players could only equip one crafted Mythic Unique at a time, while naturally dropped Mythic Uniques did not have this restriction. This meant that if you crafted multiple Mythic items, you could only choose one to wear depending on the situation in combat, while the rest would just sit in your inventory. Patch 3.1.1a completely removed this restriction. Now, Mythic items obtained through Hordric Cube, Blacksmithing, or Jeweler can be freely combined and equipped.
However, the developers also stated in the patch that unlike the random reforging of the same item in Diablo 4 Season 14, Hordric Cube in Season 15 will be directly upgraded. That is, placing a Unique item will directly upgrade it to the corresponding Mythic version, retaining the original Unique item. This sounds great, but they may reintroduce the restriction of only being able to equip one crafted Mythic item.
Corrupted Reaper Drop Rate Increase
This is the second time the drop rate of Corrupted Reaper has been increased. In patch 3.1.1 on July 14th, the Corrupted Reaper received a buff that allowed a maximum drop of two Pandemonium Fragments, with the number increasing with Torment difficulty. However, player testing revealed that even with this buff, Mythic acquisition efficiency was still not ideal.
Hotfix 3.1.1a further increases the drop rate of Mythic and Iconic Mythic items from the Corrupted Reaper. According to the developers, they noted that "even after the latest patch, this is still not enough."
In practice, killing Corrupted Reaper three times can increase the number of Pandemonium Fragments from 2 to 17. Upgrading a Mythic item now only requires 4 fragments, meaning farming Corrupted Reaper has become extremely cost-effective.
Mythic Charm Bug Fix
Patch 3.1.1a also removes the ability to add Mythic modifiers to Unique Charms and Seals in Horadric Cube. The developers explicitly stated in the comments that adding Mythic modifiers was not an intended feature of Season 14, but rather an unintended side effect of another fix. If you have already crafted Mythic Charms, they will be completely ineffective.
Next Week's Preview: More Buffs on the Way
The studio announced in an official blue post that another patch will be released next week (expected July 23rd and 24th).
Superior Lair Keys will be added to repeatable chests in Glints of Hope, providing a stable source of Corrupted Reaper keys without relying entirely on Death Toll Chambers. Additionally, the drop rate of Mythic Tributes in Diablo 4 Undercity will be increased, making this alternative farming method more profitable. These changes will further enhance players' ability to consistently acquire Mythic items across various events.
While these adjustments make farming gear more feasible, the multi-step cycle still requires a significant time investment. If you want to skip the tedious and random farming process, you can buy Diablo 4 Mythic items from IGGM.com to instantly boost your character's strength.
Updated Mythic Farming Strategy
Step 1: Farm Helltides to Increase Reputation
First, farm Helltides to obtain Glints of Hope and increase your Reputation level. The higher your Helltides farming efficiency, the faster your Reputation will increase. This is because Reputation caches contain Pandemonium Fragments, the raw material we use to craft Mythic using Horadric Cube.
Step 2: Farm Death Toll Chambers for Superior Lair Keys
First, find a Rupture in Nightmare Dungeon, then close 15 Tears within it. Only then can you enter the portal to Death Toll Chambers. Enter and defeat the boss to receive the key reward.
If you are in a group, remember to keep everyone in the same Rupture. The more players in Rupture, the faster it closes, and the faster you can reach the 15 Tears goal, increasing your farming efficiency.
Step 3: Farm Corrupted Reaper
Due to Diablo 4 3.1.1a patch increasing the Mythic drop rate from this boss, it will become the primary source of Mythic items at this stage.
After defeating her, use Superior Lair Keys obtained in the previous step to open the chest and obtain Mythic. Besides equipment, each kill of Corrupted Reaper will reliably drop Pandemonium Fragments, which are also essential for obtaining Mythic from Hordric Cube.
Therefore, don't waste your Superior Lair Keys on other bosses; Corrupted Reaper, providing a dual source of Mythic items, is its best use.
Step 4: Using Hordric Cube
Next, we craft Mythic using Pandemonium Fragments within Hordric Cube. Hordric Cube in Diablo 4 Season 14 will destroy your original Unique and randomly generate a Mythic of the same piece.
Because the final product is random, remember to only use Unique items you will never use for crafting. Many players have accidentally destroyed valuable equipment due to misreading the recipe.
Step 5: Salvage and Craft
The final step is to disenchant any unwanted Mythics for Resplendent Sparks. Each disenchanted item yields one Resplendent Spark. Resplendent Sparks can be used to craft Mythics at Blacksmith.
In short, patch 3.1.1a, along with more updates coming next week, will improve Diablo 4 farming experience, creating a seamless loop from material farming to targeted Mythic crafting. Now is the perfect time to return to Season 14 and efficiently pursue endgame gear.
