Diablo 4 Season 14 Complete Gem Farming Strategies | Top Methods and Infinite Loop

Category: Diablo 4 Posted: Jul 07, 2026 Views: 29

To build a powerful build in Diablo 4 Season 14, you will need gems, Mythic items, runes, charms, and more. Among these, gems truly shone in Season 13, where the Gem Strength affix could easily double a character's damage output.

Although that affix has been toned down in Season 14, the importance of Horadric Gems and Flawless Horadric Gems remains beyond question. However, the process of farming these gems has always been excruciatingly long and almost draining. That is why you need efficient methods for gathering them.

Season 14 Changes

Gem Fragment Conversion

In Season 13, if you wound up with the wrong gem color from your runs, you had to rely on the jeweler for fragment conversion. The old rule required three different types of fragments: converting 300 Gem Fragments gave back only 200 of your target type.

That meant each conversion cost you one-third of your total. Moreover, you sometimes needed intermediate materials to satisfy the recipe, which incurred multiple rounds of losses and made crafting Flawless Horadric Gems extremely difficult.

Season 14 brings a much-welcome improvement: the new conversion rule uses 200 fragments from each of two different types to return 200 fragments of your chosen type, so the process no longer incurs any loss.

As long as you have accumulated enough total fragments, you can convert them into whatever color you need at any time, without having to carefully plan your route or worry about conversion penalties. If you get tired of farming gems, you can also directly buy Diablo 4 gems from IGGM.

High-Tier Gem Salvage

In addition, salvaging a Grand Gem now returns a full 1 million fragments. Likewise, salvaging Horadric Gems gives back their full equivalent value. This means that even if you accidentally dismantle a high-level gem, it is no longer a disastrous loss, and you can also reallocate your resources more flexibly.

Gem Fragment Drop Rates

The development team realized that the previous meta - forcing players to farm a single dungeon - was not healthy. Consequently, in Season 14, at Torment 10 and above, Gem Fragment drop rates have been significantly increased, and you can now obtain large quantities of fragments from a much wider variety of activities.

Gem Farming Methods

Infernal Hordes

During Season 13, Infernal Hordes were widely criticized as a farming activity because their returns lagged far behind other endgame modes; players would invest ten minutes only to receive meager rewards.

In Season of Death Awakening, Gem Fragment and Materials Chest within Infernal Hordes has received substantial buffs. In particular, the 10-wave Infernal Compass now stands as one of the best options for farming Gem Fragments in Season 14.

Nightmare Dungeons

Nightmare Dungeons that feature Horadric Gem Reserve contain special chests scattered throughout. In Season 13, opening one such chest yielded roughly 40,000 fragments. In Season 14, that number has been greatly increased.

More importantly, because conversion now involves no loss, you do not need to worry about the type of the reserve dungeon at all. You can simply finish your runs and then convert all the fragments into the rubies or diamonds you need without any penalty.

Lair Boss

Lair Boss farming may well be the fastest way to obtain gems in Season 14, even surpassing Seer's Reach. That said, this method requires a friend to cooperate with you and also involves a fair amount of luck. Before you start, you need to go to Lair Boss page of War Plans and unlock the following three nodes:

  • Two by Two
  • Greater Nemesis
  • Ultimate Nemesis

Your core strategy is to kill as many Lair Bosses as possible, because the loot chests that appear after each kill now have a chance to open a portal to Nemesis Lair. During the first two layers, you rely on luck to trigger the portal, but once you actually enter Ultimate Nemesis Lair, you can begin an infinite loop for gem farming.

How to Set Up the Infinite Loop?

Once you finally encounter Ultimate Nemesis Lair Bosses, follow these steps.

Invite a Friend (from a Different Difficulty)

First, invite a friend to join your party, but your friend must enter from a Torment level different from yours. For example, if you are currently on Torment 12, your friend should join from Torment 11 or Torment 10 - anything other than your own level.

First Kill and Reset

You and your friend kill Ultimate Nemesis Lair Bosses together and collect the normal drops. After that, have your friend leave the party. At that point, your friend will be teleported back to Ultimate Nemesis Lair in his own Torment 11 instance, and those bosses will reset.

Switch to Your Friend's World

You then actively join your friend's Torment 11 Ultimate Nemesis Lair instance. You may choose to kill the bosses again, but this second kill will not drop any loot. However, there is a way to bypass that restriction.

When both you and your friend are inside Torment 11 instance, you leave the party on your own. The system will teleport you back to your original Torment 12 Ultimate Nemesis Lair instance, and you will find that this instance has also reset.

Quickly Shave Off Boss Health

Enter the boss room and reduce the bosses' health by at least 20% within a very short time. Then immediately leave the boss room. This step must be done quickly, because if you are too slow, a fog wall will seal the exit and trap you inside. Should you get trapped by the fog wall, you can simply let your character die and then try again.

Wait for the Fog Wall to Disappear

If you successfully leave the room before the fog wall appears, you will see the wall vanish on its own after a few seconds. At that point, re-enter the boss area. You will find that only the first boss remains. Kill it, and you will be rewarded with a large amount of loot, including up to nine Royal Gems, many of which may be Grand Gems.

Repeat the Loop

After finishing this kill, you just need to join your friend's Torment 11 instance again (he must stay there throughout), then leave the party to return to your own Torment 12 instance and repeat the cycle of quickly shaving off health, retreating, waiting for the fog wall to disappear, and killing the boss. Each cycle yields a stable influx of gems, and you can repeat it infinitely.

These are the best methods for farming gems in Diablo 4 Season 14. If you choose Lair Boss approach, it is advisable to agree with your friend in advance on how you will split the final gems.
