Charged Skill in Diablo 2 Resurrected are quite creative, but drawbacks such as limited effectiveness and the need for frequent repairs make them flashy rather than practical. As a result, most players overlook them. However, certain Charged Skill that appear on gear can be unexpectedly powerful.
With the addition of Warlock in Season 13, many stronger Charged Skills have been introduced. Let's go through the available Warlock Charged Skills - some of which may prove useful during your early progression or even in the endgame.

How Do Charged Skills Work?
In essence, Charged Skills are abilities intrinsically tied to specific pieces of equipment, granting a limited number of uses. Once the item is equipped, the associated skill appears in your skill bar. Using it consumes no Mana; however, since it is not part of your character's innate skill tree, it does not scale or level up over time. Furthermore, once the charges are depleted, you must repair the item in question to replenish them and continue using the skill - a requirement that explains why many players tend to dislike Charged Skills.
Additionally, only specific types of weapons and armor can generate Charged Skills. For Warlock class, these skills can appear on various items, including daggers, polearms, shields, gloves, and rings.
Daggers
Daggers are among the most interesting sources of Warlock Charged Skills, because they can spawn with very high skill levels. The skills you really want to watch for are:
- Rancor
- Miasma Bolt
- Lethargy
Among these, a level 8 Lethargy offers the greatest value obtainable from a Dagger. With a radius of 4 yards and a duration of 12 seconds, it provides the following effects:
- Reduces enemy defense by 40%
- Increases damage taken by enemies by 27%
- Slows enemy run/walk speed by 50%
- Slows enemy attack speed by 50%
When facing a boss, you can have your Mercenary cast Decrepify first, then use Lethargy on the boss. This combination greatly reduces the boss's threat - especially the potent slow effect, which can practically immobilize monsters.
For melee builds - especially those aiming to maximize their Boss-killing speed - pairing your gear with a dagger bearing Lethargy affix is highly recommended; it can even serve as a viable alternative option when farming Heralds.
A dagger can also roll level 7 Rancor with 112 charges. Rancor has some niche applications. In short, it places a Sigil on the ground. Enemies that enter the area become enraged and have a chance to attack each other.
If your summons, Valkyrie, or an Act 3 to Act 5 mercenary step into this area, their attack speed and damage increase. Meanwhile, monsters inside the area have a 75% chance to become enraged and turn on each other. This skill is very useful in summon-based setups.
Rings
Rings are the most highly recommended gear slot for this purpose. You can acquire rings featuring Lethargy affix through Blood Crafting or Caster Crafting. These crafted rings can roll up to level 4 or level 5 of Sigil: Lethargy skill.
Although level 5 effect is slightly less potent than level 8 version found on daggers, the difference amounts to a mere two or three percentage points. Be sure to keep an eye out for Lethargy rings that also possess Faster Cast Rate (FCR) attribute; these are incredibly valuable for many unconventional or off-meta builds.
Polearms
Polearms can also spawn with level 8 Lethargy. Although switching to a polearm feels unusual for nonWarlock classes, you can keep one on your weapon swap specifically for boss fights if you haven't found a suitable ring yet. Swap to it when needed - a flexible option.
Helms
Another avenue for acquiring Warlock skill is through Coven Helmets, which you can craft using Ist, Ral, and Io Diablo 2 Resurrected runes.
This item grants you a 5% chance to trigger a level 10 Lethargy effect whenever you are struck by an enemy. Although level 10 version boasts a larger radius and higher statistical bonuses compared to level 8 dagger or level 5 ring versions, the 5% trigger chance is simply too unreliable to be consistent; consequently, this option is generally not recommended.
Shields
An Artisan's Tower Shield can spawn with level 1 Rancor, which is of little use - even Paladins won't need it. However, a Jeweler's Monarch can roll level 4 Rancor, which is quite decent for a Summon Druid and worth keeping an eye on.
Gloves
Gloves can roll level 1 Apocalypse. Its maximum damage is only 120. The damage output is low, so you can use it for fun, but it has little practical value.
Hope the information above proves helpful as you make your gear selections. Remember that daggers can roll very high levels of charged Skills, and Rancor on shields is also worth a look. Be sure to watch for rings with Lethargy, especially those that come with Faster Cast Rate. Their true value may not be immediately apparent right now, but once this particular build gains popularity, these rings will become incredibly rare and precious commodities.
