Leveling Build

If your priority is reaching higher levels as quickly as possible, you can also consider a Build that is better suited to early progression. This is not mandatory, but it usually makes the process much smoother.

For example, certain Fire-based Druid or Warlock Builds offer strong damage and relatively simple gameplay. Even after entering Hell Difficulty, they can still farm specific areas safely despite encountering immune monsters.

Once you reach Hell Difficulty, you can also respec into a Magic Build, an Echoing Strike Build, or continue using a Fire-based setup.

Trading

During D2R Ladder Season 14 campaign, defeating all of these bosses is mandatory. Once you reach the endgame, however, the differences between them become much more apparent. Some Act Bosses have poor loot tables and high difficulty, making them inefficient to farm, while others offer outstanding rewards for relatively little effort. Starting with Act 1, let's evaluate each Act Boss individually.

Act 1: Andariel (Tier S)

Antidote Potions are one of the most important preparations for this battle. Each one significantly increases your Poison Resistance, and multiple potions stack their duration. Even if you only have around 30% Poison Resistance, drinking several Antidote Potions can raise it to 85%, which is more than enough for the entire encounter.

Mephisto is one of the more challenging Act Bosses, but he is also one of the most important farming targets in the game. Since Andariel's loot was adjusted, Mephisto has become even more valuable and is arguably the best Act Boss to farm in Season 14.

How to Find Mephisto?

Mephisto is located on Durance of Hate Level 3. Start from Durance of Hate Level 2 Waypoint and head left to locate the entrance to Level 3.

Although the entrance is not always in exactly the same place, this route works in most runs. Since only one floor separates the waypoint from the boss, characters with Teleport can reach him very quickly.

How to Defeat Mephisto?

The path to Mephisto is filled with Dolls and Council Members, both of which can stun or curse your character, so proceed carefully.

During the fight, a Clay Golem can significantly slow Mephisto, allowing ranged builds to attack safely from a distance while avoiding most incoming damage.

After defeating Mephisto, be sure to open Super Chest directly behind him. His loot is consistently excellent, and because reaching him requires relatively little time, he offers one of the highest farming efficiencies in the game.

Act 4: Diablo (Tier A)

How to Find Diablo?

Diablo resides in Chaos Sanctuary. While the overall layout changes from run to run, the entrance, central hub, and Seal locations remain largely consistent.

Compared to Andariel and Mephisto, reaching Diablo takes more time because you must activate all five Seals before he appears. However, the monsters encountered during this process provide excellent experience and loot, making the journey worthwhile.

How to Defeat Diablo?

The monsters inside Chaos Sanctuary are not particularly fast, so as long as your resistances are properly capped, the area is not overly dangerous. Diablo deals several types of damage, with Lightning being the greatest threat, followed by Fire. Make sure both resistances are fully capped before the fight.

Diablo has one of the best loot tables in the game, and certain items actually have better drop rates from him than from Mephisto or Andariel, making him one of the best sources for several top-tier unique items.

Chaos Sanctuary itself is also one of the best farming locations in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Even outside of Terror Zones, the monsters provide excellent experience and worthwhile loot. How to Find Baal?

Baal is located in Worldstone Keep. Similar to Andariel, reaching him requires descending two levels, but the enemies throughout Act 5 are significantly more dangerous.

Start from Worldstone Keep Level 2 Waypoint and head toward the right side of your character, which is usually the quickest route to the entrance to Level 3.

How to Defeat Baal?

Before facing Baal, you must clear five fixed waves of Minions. Each wave always contains the same monsters with no variation, making the process repetitive. These Minions are not Super Unique monsters, so they are not guaranteed to drop two magic items, and their overall loot quality is fairly mediocre.

Baal himself has a massive health pool. Static Field can quickly reduce his health to half, but the remainder of the fight still takes a considerable amount of time.

Although Baal is capable of dropping valuable equipment, his long clear time, lower farming efficiency, and repetitive encounter make him a much less attractive target than the other Act Bosses.

Overall, every Act Boss except Baal and Duriel offers excellent farming value. If a Terror Zone includes Baal or Duriel and you do not enjoy fighting them, you can safely skip them.
