Aion 2 Main and Alt Progression Guide | How to Share Resources and Unlock More Rewards?

In Aion 2, Alts can help you earn more Kinah, build shared progression, and conserve resources for your main character.

However, the real value isn't simply having more characters. It's knowing what to unlock, which resources can be transferred, and which activities are worth your time. Here are some common ways to use them to support your Main.

Aion 2 Main and Alt Progression Guide | How to Share Resources and Unlock More Rewards?

Odyle Energy

Odyle Energy is one of the most important resources in the game. It's required to open the final Cubes after defeating Dungeon Bosses, allowing you to claim some of the best rewards available.

Your Main has its own Odyle Energy reserve, and each Alt has a separate reserve as well. Each character's reserve regenerates periodically over time. Therefore, the more characters you have, the more Odyle Energy you can access and the more rewards you can claim. You can then transfer valuable resources from your Alts to strengthen your Main.

Transferable Items

You can select any item in your inventory and check the small icons in the bottom-right corner. Different items have different numbers of icons. For example, equipment may have five, while gold usually has only three.

The icon showing a person and a chest indicates that the item can be stored in character storage. The icon showing a cloud and a chest indicates that the item can be stored in server storage and Account Storage. A lit icon means the item can be placed in the corresponding storage, while an unlit icon means it cannot.

Players who purchase a Founder‘s Pack also receive Membership, which comes with a small benefit that's easy to overlook. Open your inventory and look for a glowing chest icon in the bottom-right corner. Clicking it allows you to access your storage remotely. This feature also affects the transfer methods discussed later.

How to Transfer Kinah?

Gold is the game's primary currency and comes in two forms:

  • Unbound Kinah: Represented by gold coins, this currency is account-bound and can be used by all characters on the account. It's suitable for transferring resources from Alts to your Main.
  • Bound Kinah: Represented by silver coins, this currency is character-bound and can only be used by the character that owns it.

Server Storage is shared among all characters on the same server. Unbound Kinah can be deposited directly into Server Storage and then withdrawn by another character.

Another way to transfer Kinah from an Alt is to sell items that can be traded on the market and then transfer the resulting Unbound Kinah to your Main.

You can also list an ordinary item on the market using your Main and set a relatively high asking amount, then use an Alt to complete the transaction. Although you'll lose some Kinah to taxes, this effectively lets you buy Aion 2 gold from your own Alt.

Monolith

If you've collected Empyrean Traces on your Main or any Alt, you can share that progress with your other characters.

Look for Sync Empyrean Traces option in Monolith. This feature combines Empyrean Traces collected by your Main and Alts, allowing you to fully level up your Monolith progression.

Any excess Empyrean Traces can still be converted into Power Shards through Substance Morph. In other versions of the game, excess Traces could also be converted into Enhancement Stones, but this conversion option has been removed from the global version.

Exploration and Conquest

You should also understand the difference between rewards from Exploration and Conquest.

In Exploration, Kinah earned after defeating all the bosses in a run is Bound Kinah. This applies to every Dungeon available in Exploration.

In Conquest, Kinah rewards are Unbound Kinah. Therefore, your goal should be to start running Conquest as soon as possible. Of course, you'll generally need to reach Level 45 and obtain a higher Gear Score before you can do so effectively.

How to Use Bound Kinah to Enhance Your Main's Gear?

Bound Kinah and Enhancement Stones are both character-bound. However, equipment obtained by your Main can be transferred to an Alt. Although the Alt cannot equip that item, it can still enhance it.

Select the equipment and open Enhance Item menu. You'll see Enhancement materials and Bound Kinah available to that character.

Click Enhance, and the game will consume your Alt's Kinah and materials to upgrade the equipment. Once the enhancement is complete, return the item to storage and switch back to your Main to retrieve it. The equipment will retain its upgraded state, allowing your Main to equip it normally.

Therefore, when enhancing equipment, consider using your Alts' resources to upgrade gear for your Main if you're not planning to focus on developing those Alts yet. You can redirect your resources toward your Alts later when you're ready to progress with them.

Ascension Trials

Ascension Trials are another high-reward activity available to both your Main and your Alts. When you open Ascension Trials menu, you'll see that your Main has three attempts per week. Since these attempts are tracked per character, each Alt also receives three attempts of its own.

This activity rewards large quantities of Enhance Stones, Growth Pet Chests, Amplify Stone Fragments, and Ascension Binding Chests. The latter contain Mana Stones and Soulstones.

Enhance Stones cannot be transferred, but you can use them to upgrade equipment as described earlier. Amplify Stone Fragments and Ascension Binding Chests can be transferred through Server Storage. Mana Stones and Soulstones obtained from these chests can then be passed to your Main to further improve its equipment.

Pets and Closet

In Pet System, Pet Souls collected by your Alts in Open World also count toward your Main's Pet Collection. Another shared progression feature is Closet Collection System. Skins unlocked by your Alts can contribute to your Main's overall collection progression, even if your Main hasn't unlocked those skins itself.

Shops

As you progress through a season and earn Seasonal Tokens, your Main will generally want to prioritize obtaining Wings, while your Alts can help you make progress toward collecting skins and acquiring growth materials.

Other shops worth checking include:

  • Abyss Shop: Includes the Trade Shop, where you can obtain Growth Materials, Skins, Wings, and more.
  • Nightmare Shop: Offers Wings, Skins, and other rewards.
  • Arena Shop: Features its own selection of Skins and Wings, with rewards related to those available through the Battlefield.

There are many different shops to explore. You can earn their respective currencies on both your Main and your Alts, allowing all your characters to support one another in unlocking the items they need.

Alts aren't essential in Aion 2, but if you have enough time to develop additional characters, they can provide plenty of benefits and make progression on your main account much easier.
