WoW TBC Classic Anniversary 7 Quality-of-Life Improvements Players Want to See
Category: WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Posted: Jan 08, 2026 Views: 2136
TBC Anniversary pre-patch is scheduled for release on January 13th, and we hope it's not too late to discuss these things. Today, we want to take some time to talk about some quality-of-life improvements that are worth adding before it's too late.
However, please note that our intention is not to turn The Burning Crusade Anniversary servers into an upgraded version of Retail or Classic. We simply hope that the developers will listen and improve some of the pain points that countless players encountered in the original TBC to provide a better gaming experience.
These features don't require a massive overhaul of the game's core mechanics; they only require small additions or adjustments that could perhaps be completed in an afternoon. Therefore, we hope the development team will consider some of these suggestions.

1. Increase the Drop Rate of Legendary Weapons
First, and what we believe is the most important change needed in WoW Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, is the drop rate of legendary weapons like Warglaives of Azzinoth and Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury, or the addition of some kind of guaranteed drop mechanism.
The most direct way to adjust this is to change the drop rate. Currently, most legendaries have a 5% drop rate. I believe that the acquisition rate of these items in WoW TBC Classic Anniversary should be at least tripled to 15% to maintain the high attention, rarity, and legendary feel of these weapons.
They shouldn't completely eliminate the randomness of drops, but at least make it easier for guild members to obtain them so that their excellent effects can be put to good use.
Of course, if they could add some kind of guaranteed legendary drop mechanism or a shard system, that would certainly be something every player would be very happy to see.
2. Remove PvP Faction Restrictions
Secondly, players are requesting the removal of Alliance and Horde faction restrictions on PvP servers. This restriction is clearly outdated, limiting player choice and hindering server population balance, especially since there is usually only one PvP server, and players are permanently locked into one faction.
Although developers previously maintained faction balance by restricting character creation, players still want the flexibility to play both Alliance and Horde characters on the same server.
I know there will be some hardcore players who disagree, believing that this would destroy their faction identity. Because this is a very important motivation for PvP participation for some players, they strongly identify with the sense of faction conflict in the original TBC Classic.
However, in this TBC Classic Anniversary version, these boundaries have become blurred, with Alliance now having Shamans and Horde having Paladins. Therefore, it's harder to have a strong sense of faction identity compared to before.
So, if there's ever a time to balance PvP servers, it's now. They should remove these restrictions and allow players to freely choose where and with whom they play.
3. Remove Summoning Restrictions
The next issue we'll discuss is one you've likely encountered. Suppose your guild is challenging Serpentshrine Cavern (SSC) raid, and you're in Shattrath City. If they want to summon you into the instance, they must use a Meeting Stone outside the instance or have a Warlock outside the instance summon you so you can join the fight.
However, the problem is that if guild members are already deep inside the instance, especially in Serpentshrine Cavern or Black Temple, leaving the instance to find a Meeting Stone or summon others is very difficult and time-consuming.
Therefore, to avoid raid interruptions, Warlocks should be allowed to summon guild members from outside the instance to inside the instance.
4. Balance Epic Flying Mount Prices
I believe Epic Flying mount is a topic many are interested in, but their prices are very expensive, and because the developers have banned GDKP system, the economy on Anniversary servers is currently quite chaotic.
For new players who only play Classic TBC, they may be very short on money, and obtaining an Epic Flying mount will be very difficult. If their other characters also cannot obtain these mounts, it will increase the difficulty of leveling alt characters and reduce their interest in leveling, because leveling is much slower without Epic Flying.
Therefore, I strongly hope that the developers will allow all our characters to use account-bound Epic Flying mounts, or significantly reduce the price of the mounts, because currently, accumulating enough WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold to obtain an Epic Flying mount is very difficult.
5. Add Ranged Taunt Abilities for Tanks
If you've played a tank in WoW Burning Crusade Classic, you'll know how clunky they are to play, especially Bear and Warrior Tanks, whose taunt abilities often require being in melee range to be effective.
I think it's not a pleasant experience for anyone when your tank has to be in melee range to taunt mobs, or when their taunt abilities are too clunky to use properly. And that's precisely where the tanking experience is at its worst. Therefore, it's crucial that all tank specializations have a ranged taunt ability.
All these improvements to taunt abilities would make the game experience smoother, safer in Heroic dungeons, and easier in clearing mobs and raids. This applies to tank players, DPS players who struggle to press their abilities when the tank charges in, and even healers who might accidentally pull aggro from a missed mob.
6. Directly Challenging Naxxramas Bosses
We all know that Naxxramas in WoW TBC Anniversary is a significant source of high-end Tier 3 gear and Marks of the Champion, items that are very useful for many classes for a long time, thus motivating players to return to Naxxramas and other Classic Vanilla content.
However, there is no mechanism in TBC similar to the one in WotLK Classic that allows players to skip the earlier parts and directly challenge Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad. This means you have to complete the entire raid to reach the ultimate bosses.
Therefore, adding a feature to the game that allows players to teleport and skip earlier parts to directly challenge Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad would clearly meet the needs of most players who prioritize efficiency and want to upgrade their gear for future content.
7. Automatic Weapon Skill Leveling by Attacking Training Dummies
Finally, one more thing I'd like to add is the hope that they will add a feature to level up weapon skills by attacking training dummies. Currently, TBC Anniversary does have training dummies, and all players can use them to practice spells, but this doesn't improve your weapon skills.
However, this doesn't make sense from a role-playing perspective or considering the existing weapon skill leveling mechanism, as there's not much difference between this and attacking non-aggressive monsters in the wilderness.
More importantly, the early game grind of constantly killing unchallenging mobs to level up weapon skills is a very tedious part of the game. Automatically leveling weapon skills by attacking training dummies would easily solve this problem.
In any case, we hope that the developers will adopt these quality-of-life improvements, address the pain points in the original TBC, and make the game experience smoother and more enjoyable without losing the essence of the original game, thus reducing frustration.
