WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7 Brings Major Housing Upgrades Players Have Been Waiting For

Category: WoW Midnight Posted: Jun 05, 2026 Views: 12

World of Warcraft Midnight: Revelations European servers on June 17, 2026 and North American servers will launch on June 16, 2026. This update is packed with content, including new raids, new zones, and a new story, but many casual players are most excited about housing system update.

This article will provide an in-depth analysis of housing system update in WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7. Let's take a look.WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7 Brings Major Housing Upgrades Players Have Been Waiting For

Outdoor Lighting

Since housing system's launch, the most requested feature from players, outdoor lighting, has finally been officially released. This feature was initially disabled due to severe performance issues during the initial housing system launch, but the development team has successfully resolved these technical difficulties. Now, you can place outdoor lighting fixtures on housing plots.

However, there is an important limitation to understand. Outdoor lighting differs from indoor lighting; the illumination radii of two outdoor light sources cannot overlap. When you attempt to place a new light source too close to an existing light source, a red radius indicator will appear on the ground, preventing you from placing it.

Decor Budget Increased

Outdoor decorating budgets have been significantly increased, fundamentally changing how players design their homes. When your home reaches level 5, the decorating budget will increase from 250 points to 300 points. At the maximum home level 7, the decorating budget will jump from 250 points to a remarkable 350 points. For players wanting to fully upgrade their homes, this means a full 40% increase in budget, allowing them to acquire far more decorations.

The lead home systems developer for WoW Midnight explained that this change was implemented after extensive PTR testing of the outdoor lighting system. Testing confirmed that even on mid-range PCs, the game engine can handle the significantly increased variety of decorations without any noticeable performance degradation.

This directly addresses one of the long-standing complaints from the player community: feeling overly restricted when building complex outdoor areas, especially those with dense gardens, winding paths, and numerous decorative elements.

New Decor Items

WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7 adds over one hundred new decorative items, all available from decor vendors at Razorwind Shores and Founder's Point, priced from 10 to 125 WoW Midnight Gold each. Details are as follows:

A new outdoor decor collection includes stone lanterns of various heights and styles, creating layered lighting effects even with radius limitations. Three sizes of wooden garden bridges can span streams or connect different areas of your patio.

Four different colored flower pots are available, along with various sizes of square and rectangular potted hedges for creating formal garden layouts.

A cobblestone path kit featuring straight, curved, and intersecting paths helps create natural walking routes. Bird baths, weather vanes, and a complete set of wooden picnic furniture (including a table and bench) complete the outdoor decor options.

The indoor decor collection is equally rich in new additions. Three types of bookshelf inserts that can full wall recesses are available, along with two heights of glass-door display cases and a brand-new collection of rugs in seven colors and three shapes.

In addition, there are wall-mounted candlesticks with dynamic flame effects that not only save floor space but also provide illumination. Finally, side tables, coffee tables, and a modular shelving system that can be combined in any way complete the interior furniture selection.

Known Issues Tracking

The development team has released a list of known issues that players may encounter after the release of WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7. The details are as follows:

Some outdoor lights, particularly Night Elf Moon Lantern and Goblin Arc Lamp, are currently displaying incorrect radius indicators, making them appear larger than their actual limits. The light placement system still works, but the visual indicators are misleading.

Additionally, a small number of players on PTR servers reported that their house grades did not immediately update to reflect the new budget cap. Reloading the housing system or logging back in resolves this issue. The team anticipates fixing both issues via hotfixes within the first week after launch.

Future Developments

A WoW Midnight representative briefly mentioned what players can expect after Patch 12.0.7: Guild housing system is currently under active development and is expected to launch in Patch 12.1.5. Guild housing will use dedicated large plots separate from individual houses and will share decorating budgets and permissions.

Furthermore, the first house-specific world event is planned for Patch 12.2.0, tentatively named Grand Neighborhood Decorating Contest, where the entire community will compete in a collective decorating theme to win cosmetic rewards.

That concludes the update to housing system in WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7. Many players are eagerly anticipating the outdoor lighting and new decorations. Let's wait for June 16th. Before then, you can make some plans and preparations in advance.
