WoW Midnight Alt Leveling to 90 Guide | The Fastest Route Before Raids Open

Category: WoW Midnight Posted: Mar 03, 2026 Views: 7413

WoW Midnight is now officially open, but there's still some time before large-scale raids open. Top players are racing against time to level up and compete for world first kills.

However, there's a limit to what an account can do in a day, and many players are leveling alts to acquire more gear and resources. So, let's look at how to efficiently level up an alt to 90 and get suitable gear, including several speed-up tips.

WoW Midnight Alt Leveling to 90 Guide The Fastest Route Before Raids Open

Quests And Reputation

If you're a brand new alt, the most reliable way to level up is by following the main campaign. Completing the main campaign will usually get you to around level 87. From level 87 onwards, you'll need to do some side quests to fill the experience gap.

So, why is doing side quests so recommended? Because side quests provide reputation. In the current version, reputation is crucial; it's a prerequisite for obtaining Champion-level gear. Champion gear has far superior stats compared to the old Veteran gear you get from Mythic 0 dungeons, so you'll see many players diligently grinding reputation.

Boosting Character

If you have a character boost service that allows your alt to instantly reach level 80, what should you do? Continue questing? Not necessarily. The system will prompt you whether you can skip the tedious intro quest chain. It's strongly recommended that you skip it, saving you a precious 40 minutes of life.

If your alt's gear isn't very good, for example, with an item level of only 60 or 70, leveling will be extremely painful. You can first acquire some basic high item level Uncommon gear from the auction house in the main city, which will greatly improve leveling efficiency.

Sojourners

You need to understand an achievement series called Sojourners, which is account-wide. Once one character completes Sojourners achievement for a specific map, all your other characters will automatically inherit the progress from that map.

Sojourner achievements require you to complete a specific chain of quests that reward reputation with the corresponding faction. For example:

  • Sojourner of Eversong Woods: Rewards Silvermoon reputation.
  • Sojourner of Zul'Aman: Rewards Amani Tribe reputation.
  • Sojourner of Harandar: Rewards The Hara'ti reputation.
  • Sojourner of Voidstorm: Rewards The Singularity reputation.

How to Find These Quests?

You can use addons to track quests you haven't completed yet, which is more efficient. Even without any addons, quests marked with a yellow exclamation mark on the map are usually key reputation-rewarding quests and should be prioritized.

Once you follow Sojourner achievement quest chain, the process is very fast; about five to six quests should get your alt to level 90. Additionally, you'll gain a significant amount of reputation, allowing each of your alts to easily obtain four or more items of 246 item level gear. This will greatly benefit your profession upgrades or the acquisition of better equipment.

Other Leveling Methods

If you haven't completed Sojourner achievement or want to try other methods, here's an efficiency analysis of several leveling methods in WoW Midnight:

Farming Dungeons

This method is not recommended, especially for solo players and DPS classes. Dungeon experience has been nerfed by Blizzard in this expansion. Worse still, many tanks are unfamiliar with the routes, pulling only two or three mobs at a time, potentially taking 30 minutes to complete a dungeon – extremely inefficient.

However, dungeons with quests are worth doing. Most maps have quests pointing to a specific dungeon. Completing these quests for the first time rewards a large amount of experience, gear, and a onetime reputation boost (account-wide). Doing them while leveling is definitely worthwhile; if you don't do them, you can do them when you reach max level and run Mythic 0.

Delves

Delves used to be the most efficient way to level up, and some players still use them for fast leveling. Although the developers have nerfed them somewhat, it's still a good option if you just want to grind.

When you reach around level 87-88, you can start focusing on Delves quests. Most Delves contain a onetime quest that grants 85,000 to 90,000 XP upon completion. Utilizing these quests effectively can help you quickly skip the last few levels.

Adventure Mode

After completing the main campaign, all your alts will unlock this mode. It's the fastest option for solo players. It mixes main, side, and regional quests, allowing you to freely choose which areas to explore. You can reach max level in about four or five encounters.

Professions

The first crafting of any profession grants a massive amount of experience. Therefore, you can learn a profession and then use materials obtained from Auction House to craft everything you can. Forget the profession after crafting and learn the next one.

This will take you approximately 20,000-30,000 WoW Midnight gold, but a character can gain over 575,000 experience. With Darkmoon Faire buff, you can even get 650,000 experience, and since each level from 87 to 90 requires 500,000-600,000 XP, this is more than enough to level you up.

Leveling Buffs

Warband Experience Bonus

For every level 90 character you own, your Warband gains a 5% experience bonus, and this effect stacks! Multiple max-level characters can increase your new character's leveling speed by 15% or more.

Darkmoon Faire buff

If Darkmoon Faire is open, don't miss it! It provides a 10% experience boost buff. This buff stacks with Warband bonuses, reaching an astonishing 15% or even 25% or more! Remember to have the buff active before turning in the quest.

War Mode

War Mode provides a bonus to kills in the open world, so it's also recommended to start. You don't need to worry about being killed in PvP; at least at this stage, very few players will actively attack you. Furthermore, this XP bonus stacks with the Warband and Darkmoon Faire buffs.

If you're aiming for efficient leveling of your alts, using the method above, you might only need five or six hours to level one to 90. If your gear is good, this time will be even shorter.
