Players, WoW Forever Beta will open to us following the Q&A session at 10:30 AM (Pacific Time) today, so keep an eye on the game around 11:00 AM. While the new content is finally playable, rather than just rushing to level up, consider exploring and verifying game mechanics to prepare for the official launch.

Before You Hit Level 20 in WoW Forever Beta: The Complete Guide to Professions, Dungeons & PvP Testing

Don't Rush to Level Up

Vanilla WoW-style content everyone has waited years for is finally here. Your primary goal should be to enjoy the experience - exploring, grouping up, running dungeons, or even challenging Hogger at a low level and getting beaten up - all of which are more meaningful than mindlessly grinding levels.

You can handle testing tasks while you play, provided you are having fun.

At the same time, try out every race in World of Warcraft Forever beta; it's hard to judge right now which race will ultimately be the strongest, as the differences between them might be minimal.

Players should be aware that during the initial phase of the beta, the maximum character level will be 20; it may take several weeks before the level cap is raised to 30.

Level your preferred races to 20 to experience different starting zones and observe how they differ from the original content; this will also help familiarize you with the game before the official launch in November.

Reaching level 20 is fast - taking about a day - so trying out a few different races won't be too much of a burden.

Don't rush to level up in WoW Forever beta

Professions

WoW Forever profession system has undergone significant changes, but we currently don't know the difficulty of leveling them up or whether certain professions require pairing with specific gathering professions.

If you plan to level a specific profession before the official launch, you should figure out WoW Forever gold costs, material sources, and other requirements now.

Additionally, you should verify whether leveling a profession at a low level is cost-effective, as reputation gains at higher levels might offer better returns.

Dungeons

Players should also document new dungeon mechanics, loot drops, XP gains, quest rewards, and overall difficulty during WoW Forever beta.

Will a level 15 group get crushed in Deadmines, or clear it easily? We need to test this in the beta, as the results will directly influence our leveling routes.

We also need to test whether the new dungeons are harder than the old ones, if the gear is better, and if the quest XP justifies the travel time. If dungeon rewards accelerate character leveling, it will probably affect our progression pace when the game officially launches in November.

PvP

Regarding PvP, characters have limited abilities at low levels; Warriors, in particular, struggle around level 20, possessing almost no instant attacks other than Overpower.

When allocating talent points, you might prioritize Deflection and Improved Overpower, then use Cruelty to boost your critical strike chance.

Acquiring dungeon gear and a two-handed weapon will significantly improve PvP experience.

However, it is crucial to verify whether WoW Forever PvP system allows for meaningful progression at low levels, or if it is better to wait until level 60 to invest time in it seriously.

In the past, players would head to Alterac Valley at level 51 to farm both Honor and Reputation simultaneously; we need to confirm during the beta if similar strategies exist and whether new battlegrounds are available.

Buffs and Camping

To ensure smoother group operations when World of Warcraft Forever officially launches, we need to verify one by one which buffs stack during the beta.

We need to know if Battle Shout and Blessing of Might can coexist, whether Gift of the Wild and scrolls conflict, whether Shaman totems affect the party or the entire raid, and what the range of Battle Shout is; all these factors will influence team composition.

The same applies to Camping mechanic.

Will the buffs provided by the camp conflict with class-specific buffs? For instance, will the attack power bonus from sharpening stones conflict with Battle Shout?

If they do conflict, it raises the question of whether melee groups should even include a Warrior.

Additionally, we need to confirm whether the camp can be deployed inside dungeons or raids; if it can, team composition becomes much more flexible. If it is restricted to outdoor use, the impact will be far less significant.

New Racial Abilities

Players shouldn't forget to thoroughly test the new racial abilities during World of Warcraft Forever beta.

For example, determining whether Human critical strike bonus applies only to spells and abilities or includes auto-attacks will directly determine the race's overall strength.

We also need practical testing to see if Night Elf's Shadowmeld threat-reduction effect functions like Warlock's Soul Shatter, and whether threat levels return to normal after exiting Shadowmeld.

Furthermore, the interaction between Gnome's abilities and Execute cannot be tested until level 30; this could impact Rage consumption and damage output, making it a priority for us to examine in World of Warcraft Forever when the time comes.

Once we reach the latter part of the level 20 bracket in the beta, you might want to push the limits by forming a group of level 20 characters to tackle Scarlet Monastery Graveyard and see just how far your character's power can take you.

However, since beta time is limited, recording your observations as you play will yield more valuable information for the official launch of WoW Forever than simply rushing to level up.
