  To craft this build, you first need to unlock Void Sphere skill available to Wild Speaker. It manifests as a sphere you can throw onto the ground; it pulls enemies toward its center while dealing minimal damage.

  Its key function relies on linking it with Enhance Support to gain cooldown recovery speed; additionally, you should prioritize increasing its duration and skill AoE.

  To avoid excessive mana consumption, you can pair your setup with Inspiration Support or other cooldown recovery-related supports, such as Exceptional support gems introduced in 3.28 league.

  Additionally, you can incorporate Pacifism jewels to utilize their chance-to-flee effect on enemies, though this may not be effective against every enemy type in Trial of the Ancestors.

  Trial of the Ancestors Mechanic Rewards

  Before each battle, you choose your opponent. Each opponent offers different amounts of Favor and various currency rewards.

  Favor serves as a temporary currency that remains valid only throughout the current tournament. Once the tournament ends, all accumulated Favor resets to zero. You use Favor to recruit new troops, upgrade them, and acquire items, with these options spread across different Ancestors.

  The total Favor you gather directly influences your chances of winning the tournament - to secure the final victory, you will need a substantial stockpile.

  You need to weigh Favors against regular currency rewards. However, each Ancestor's reward is relatively small; you can buy PoE currency in IGGM. Choosing opponents based on the amount of Favors you accumulate will help you win more matches.

  Acquiring and Managing Favor

  Totem Mechanics

  When you assign a unit to one of these positions, you are actually placing a totem. That totem serves as both the unit's starting point and its respawn location after defeat. The leader of each squad cannot have their starting point manually set - that is automatically assigned.

  Victory Conditions

  The core objective in every battle is to reach the enemy's side and destroy their totems. You do not destroy totems by dealing damage; instead, you channel them. Click on an enemy totem and hold the button - its life bar will deplete quickly. When it reaches zero, the totem collapses, and any enemy unit bound to that totem is eliminated as well.

  If you are hit by any enemy attack or spell while channeling a totem, you will be stunned for five seconds. Conventional anti-stun mechanics cannot shorten this duration. Damage over time does not trigger the interruption.

  This five-second stun is extremely dangerous because you are completely defenseless during that time and can easily be focused down by the enemy team.

  Note that dying in TotA does not count as a true death for your character - so the usual death penalty does not apply.

  If an enemy channels your totem, you may find yourself suppressed for a long stretch, and by the time you finally respawn, your own totem positions might already be thoroughly destroyed.   Tattoos System

  Return of the Ancestors introduces a major system that has a profound impact on endgame character optimization: Tattoos. While casual players may rarely engage with them, hardcore min-maxers absolutely adore these modifications.

  Tattoos allow you to alter the small passive nodes on Passive Skill Tree that typically provide only basic attributes. Red tattoos can convert Strength nodes into Fire Resistance or Life Regeneration, while blue tattoos can transform Intelligence nodes into Lightning Resistance or Energy Shield Recovery Rate, among other options.

  The variety of tattoos is extensive, and some are extremely rare and powerful. Certain tattoos, for instance, can grant you an additional projectile, which is an incredibly potent effect.

  In Return of the Ancestors event of Mirage League, many brand-new tattoos will also be introduced that replaces an original Ascendancy Notable (not Phrecian Ascendancies Notable). Additionally, during the event, tattoos will not be obtainable through Kingsmarch shipping system.

  Phrecian Ascendancy Classes

  During the event, the original 19 Ascendancy classes in Path of Exile 1 will each have an Alternate Ascendancy version. Among them, Reliquarian Ascendancy does not have a corresponding Phrecian Ascendancy, so it will be temporarily disabled in Return of the Ancestors.

  Scavenger Ascendancy has received minor adjustments in relation to the tattoo system: its Tabula Rasa Notable node allows you to apply one additional tattoo, though the node itself does not provide any inherent bonus.

  Return of the Ancestors Rewards

  During the event, players will automatically receive a Return of the Ancients Mystery Box upon completing the final boss of Act 10, Kitava, meaning they have finished the entire campaign. This reward is guaranteed, but each account can claim it only once during this event. Completing the campaign with multiple characters will not award additional Mystery Boxes.

  PoE Mirage Return of the Ancestors also incorporates elements from Legacy of Phrecia activity, so the experience will be quite distinctive. Moreover, the official team has a tendency to port well-received mechanics from PoE 1 over to PoE 2, so we might well see a similar system appear in Patch 1.0 for the sequel.

  This time, the team seems quite confident about the update schedule. Instead of giving a vague window, they have provided an exact date and time. Is that date reasonable, and what impact will it have on Path of Exile 2?

  

  Path of Exile 3.29 Release Date

  The development team has long finalized the release date for Path of Exile 3.29 internally, and they feel very confident about it. They have announced that the new league will begin at the following times:

  • PT: July 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM
  • ET: July 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM
  • BST: July 24, 2026, at 9:00 PM
  • CEST: July 24, 2026, at 10:00 PM
  • TRT: July 24, 2026, at 11:00 PM
  • AEST: July 25, 2026, at 6:00 AM

  It is worth noting that the official live stream event will take place eight days before the league goes live, specifically on July 16 at 1:00 PM PT. This differs from Patch 0.5.0 update, where the stream was held 22 days before the league start as a one-off special arrangement. Now, the streaming cycle returns to the familiar eight-day window that players know well.

  Special Event

  While waiting for the official launch of Path of Exile 3.29, the team will host a special event. Judging from the announcement, this is clearly an event exclusive to Path of Exile 1 rather than anything related to Path of Exile 2. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks, and the team sincerely invites everyone to watch the live broadcast then.

  Looking back at various special events the team has run in the past, some were huge successes while others received mixed reactions. These events are typically aimed at hardcore players.   Flashback

  Flashback is a very popular event type. It randomly combines mechanics from several past leagues into a single area, usually mixing three mechanics that rotate every hour. The event also includes league-specific modifiers from earlier leagues, such as Anarchy, Invasion, Breach, and Ambush. Event durations can range from 48 hours to a full month.

  Mayhem

  Mayhem takes Flashback concept and intensifies it. The core idea is to let a single past league mechanic appear on an enormous scale. For example, an area might have a multiplied number of exiles or breaches. This creates extremely high monster density and utter chaos, perfect for testing a build's limits. Mayhem usually lasts for one week or ten days.

  Turmoil

  Unlike Flashback's random combinations, Turmoil activates monster modifiers from all past leagues simultaneously. A rare monster in an area might carry both Nemesis and Bloodlines modifiers, which greatly raises the difficulty. The event also includes standard and hardcore modes, with durations often set at two weeks or ten days.

  Legacy of Phrecia

  Legacy of Phrecia league introduced 19 brand-new, limited-time Ascendancy classes that completely replaced the game's original ascendancies, and it was very well received by players. However, it already took place in early 2026, so another occurrence is unlikely.

  The team is unlikely to copy a previous special event exactly, as they like to make changes each time to keep things fresh. They might bring an entirely new event or combine elements from past special events. Which form this event will take remains to be seen.

  When does Mirage League End?

  Mirage Challenge League will officially end on July 20 at 3:00 PM PDT. You still have several weeks to farm PoE currency, level up your character, and complete all challenges.

  During the special event, Mirage League itself will continue as normal, so you can keep playing your existing league character. If you prefer a slower pace and need more time to progress, characters in Standard League are always available.

  Impact of PoE 3.29 Release Date

  The Mirage League began on March 6. Based on the team's usual four-month update cycle, the release date for PoE 3.29 would have fallen around July 6. In reality, the release has been delayed by more than two weeks.

  However, this is actually a wise decision. It not only avoids clashing with Diablo 4 League 14 but also does not draw players' attention away from PoE 2. Launching the new league on July 24 gives PoE 2 players about two months of time, while Diablo 4 players get roughly four weeks. Considering the content in both Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4, that amount of time should be enough for most players to finish the main campaign and the key challenges of the endgame.

  Another point to note about this timing is the release of Path of Exile 2 Patch 1.0. Within about four months after PoE 3.26 launches, the team is unlikely to issue any major updates.

  ExileCon is expected to begin in either November or December. Based on this schedule, that almost coincides with the release of PoE 3.30. If the team does not want the release windows of PoE 3.30 and Path of Exile 2 Patch 1.0 to collide, then the full version of PoE 2 will likely be announced at ExileCon, but its actual launch will be delayed by two months, landing around January or even February of 2027.

  What exactly PoE 3.29 will look like is unknown for now, as no details have been shared. Nevertheless, PoE 3.28 Mirage League is one of the best leagues ever. Enjoy it while you can before the next league arrives.
