  First, use Anarchy Scarabs and specific Atlas passive nodes to flood your maps with Rogue Exiles. Pair this with Trarthan Scarab of Surprising Alliances, which gives these Exiles a 50% chance to bring a Wild Mercenary along with them.

  Next, add Trarthan Scarab of Infamy; this converts the primary mercenaries that spawn into the Infamous variant and increases the number of random mercenary encounters within the map.

  • Mesa: A top choice. The map structure is very simple, with the boss mostly located near the center. Short routes and high clearing efficiency make it ideal for strategies requiring repeated map runs.

  Scour and Go

  The safest option - roll the map to a clean slate, don't pursue extra affixes, and quickly clear the map. While the number and rarity of maps are relatively low, the core benefits of this strategy come from Mercenaries and Rogue Exiles. Some of the rewards they provide don't entirely depend on map rarity, so even plain maps still offer decent base rewards.

  Alch and Go

  A recommended compromise - use the Orb of Alchemy to unlock yellow map and start farming immediately, without spending a lot of time selecting affixes. The rewards are higher than plain maps, and the difficulty is usually acceptable, suitable for most established builds.

  8-Mod Maps

  A high-difficulty approach - 8-mod maps further increase map rewards, but also significantly increase monster strength. It's only worth using if your character can consistently handle high-damage, high-health Mercenaries and Rogue Exiles.

  In general, this playstyle is characterized by a high skill ceiling and high volatility. Its true value lies in constantly finding rare and high-value mercenaries and equipment. Early on, some maps may have less than ideal rewards, but as you farm more maps, the chances of encountering top-tier mercenaries or rare drops will increase.

  These mechanics were originally designed to provide a guaranteed minimum return, ensuring you walked away with a certain amount of loot each time you engaged with them. However, they have arguably morphed into a primary source of loot rather than just a baseline safety net.

  Consequently, the plan for Path of Exile 3.30 is to optimize these systems and return them to their original purpose.

  In practice, this may mean reducing the amount of loot obtained directly from these tile systems in certain situations. However, this is expected to be balanced by an increase in loot drops from killing monsters.

  What can you do in the meantime?

  Regardless of the final release date, there are still at least two months to go before Path of Exile 3.30 arrives. So, rather than expending extra energy focusing on uncertain details, it is better to concentrate on the current 3.29 league.

  To select players for the race finals at ExileCon 2026 in November, PoE 2 ExileCon qualifiers began on August 6th (held weekly), with the last round kicking off yesterday. Now, the schedule for PoE 1 qualifiers has also been confirmed!

  Path of Exile 1 Qualifier 1 begins on September 3rd at 2:00 PM; subsequent rounds will follow every other week, concluding on September 24th (PDT):

  • Qualifier 1: Sep 03, 2026 2:00 PM
  • Qualifier 2: Sep 10, 2026 2:00 PM
  • Qualifier 3: Sep 17, 2026 2:00 PM
  • Qualifier 4: Sep 24, 2026 2:00 PM

  Participation requirements and final rewards are expected to mirror those of PoE 2 qualifiers, though there is a difference regarding the platform: Path of Exile 1 is PC-only.
