Players, with Path of Exile 2 1.0 approaching, the development team has been releasing several key balance adjustments and design changes. These changes not only affect skill feel and damage systems but also the difficulty of endgame content and trading issues.
Let's take a look at the balance changes in PoE 2 1.0 that we should be most concerned about.
Attack Time Adjustments
Currently, there are issues with Base Skill Attack Time in the game, mainly with Mace and Quarterstaff skills. Some skills do indeed have a fixed time penalty of +1 or +1.5 seconds, making them feel sluggish in the later stages.
According to the latest news, the development team is seriously considering completely changing this mechanism in 1.0 - either significantly reducing the additional time value or allowing Skill Speed attribute to directly shorten this fixed time.
Sword-type skills are also under consideration for adjustments, as Sword skill system also has a similar additional time, so uniformly modifying this mechanism would be the right decision.
This means that in Path of Exile 2 1.0, most physical melee skills will have a faster attack speed, and combos will be smoother.
When players enter Atlas Map, they will still strive for efficient map clearing, so accelerating the combat experience is an inevitable trend.

Bleed Mechanism Enhancement
Although the development team hasn't explicitly stated what specific enhancements will be made to Bleed, some players have already discovered differences while experiencing the new patch.
Besides extending the base duration from five seconds to eight seconds, the damage per tick has also increased from 15% to 30% of the physical damage dealt. This is a significant sustained damage boost for boss fights in PoE 2.
However, for mobs, direct damage is usually enough to kill them; Bleed will primarily serve as a supplementary means against high-health enemies.
Furthermore, there is more potential for synergy between Bleed and some skills, passives, and potentially future Uniques. The specific effects will be revealed in the official 1.0 release.
Duelist Skill Design
Next, let's discuss the new class coming to Path of Exile 2 1.0: Duelist, and its skill system design.
Duelist's skill system is like a highly automated combo system - using one skill automatically connects to subsequent skills without requiring complex pre-combat maneuvers.
Parry and Stances do unlock higher levels of power, but the triggering mechanism is almost automatic, preventing any lag or clunking.
More importantly, the development team plans to allow players to directly enter enhanced stances or unlock advanced skill states through charging methods such as Endurance Charges, Frenzy Charges, or Power Charges, while also providing more avenues through Uniques.
This clearly learns from the lesson of Huntress's over-reliance on Parry to reach her full potential in Patch 0.2, avoiding a similar poor experience for players in 1.0.

Crafting System
In Patch 1.0, crafting top-tier gear will still heavily rely on Omens obtained from Ritual gameplay. This isn't a temporary setting, but rather a design direction explicitly continued by the developers.
The development team's philosophy is that each league should have its own unique and irreplaceable rewards, and Omens and a large number of Uniques are the exclusive value of Ritual.
They want players to play multiple leagues to craft truly top-tier gear, collecting rare materials from different gameplay modes and combining them.
Therefore, from this perspective, if Ritual feels like a must-farm, then Ritual design is successful. If no one wants to even touch a gameplay mode, then its rewards are problematic.
However, this system, continued in Patch 1.0, is not friendly to ordinary players.
Currently, the drop rate of most Omens is quite low; even mid-tier Omens are hard to find, let alone top-tier ones. This means that for ordinary players, crafting high-quality gear in Path of Exile 2 through their own efforts is often impossible because of the high cost of materials.
Those who can actually afford to craft are primarily hardcore players or those skilled at farming PoE2 currency, significantly limiting the crafting experience for ordinary players.
High-Difficulty Bosses
Regarding whether more tough bosses will be added to PoE 2 1.0, the official response is: first, the issue of polarized character strength needs to be addressed.
Because there are overly powerful builds and overly weak ones in the game, they worry that adding a more difficult final challenge would lead to all builds shared online being judged solely on their ability to easily defeat the boss, thus stifling gameplay diversity.
Therefore, they are not promising to add more tough bosses for the time being, but instead are focusing on fixing the imbalance in build strength.
Despite this, Patch 1.0 will still include over 100 bosses, more than 600 unique monster types, and nearly 100 campaign areas. The development team is also very proud of the quality of the boss battles, so we can still look forward to them.
Overall, the adjustments the development team plans to make in Patch 1.0 will address players' demands for endgame efficiency while adhering to the design philosophy of making each league's content more meaningful.
Before the official launch of PoE 2 Patch 1.0, further balance adjustments are possible, but the above direction is basically clear and worth considering when planning your starting class and build strategy!
