Diablo 4 Season 15 Bug Wipes Loot Filter Rules on Xbox: Custom Affixes and Item Level Triggers Broken

Fourteen custom rules carefully configured across two profiles, wiped clean overnight.
A Diablo 4 player on Xbox Series X logged into Season 15 on October 14 only to discover their endgame loot filters were completely gone. Every single custom setting had been stripped bare, leaving raw, unconfigured placeholders in place of precise affix triggers and item level cutoffs.
The report, originally posted on Blizzard's Console Bug Report forum, highlights a fresh nightmare for players grinding high-tier content in Season of Hell’s Legacy: spending hours fine-tuning filters to isolate high-value gear, only to have the system forget every rule you set.

How the Filter Wipe Plays Out
The issue wasn't immediately obvious in the menus. It started in the field when lower-tier Diablo 4 Magic and Rare items—which should have been hidden—began cluttering the ground during runs.
After toggling the loot filter off and on failed to fix the display, the player opened their rule settings. The damage was total:
-
Default Naming Overwrite: Custom names for all 14 rules were replaced with generic labels from "Rule #1" through "Rule #14."
-
Erased Conditions: Specific target affixes, stat priority checks, and item level restrictions vanished, displaying "No Conditions Added."
-
Color Schemes Reset: Color-coded highlights designed to identify target Greater Affixes, Ancestral items, and rings were reset to default visibility settings.
-
No Client Recovery: Relaunching Diablo 4 and rebooting the Xbox Series X had no effect; the stored data on the server side remained blank.
Selective Data Loss: Older Filters Survived
Oddly enough, the wipe did not affect all saved filter profiles equally. While both Season 15 Druid filters were erased, older filter profiles carried over from Season 13 and Season 14 remained intact with their full configurations.
- Season 13 Filter (Warlock) ==> Intact
- Season 14 Filter (Paladin) ==> Intact
- Season 15 Filter #1 (Druid) ==> WIPED (Reset to blank rules)
- Season 15 Filter #2 (Druid) ==> WIPED (Reset to blank rules)
This points away from a generic storage corruption bug and suggests a localized save issue specifically affecting active Season 15 profiles.
Broken Rebuilding: Affix Cutoffs and Item Levels Fail to Save
The problem extended beyond losing saved data. When attempting to rebuild the Druid filter from scratch, the player ran into major functional bugs within the filter UI itself:
-
Affix Logic Failure: Setting up specific affix checks on rings failed. Even when toggling between Required and Optional parameters, equipped rings with matching affixes refused to highlight or recolor properly on drops.
-
Item Level Filtering Broken: Rules created to hide low-iLvl gear (specifically items below 900 Item Power) failed to register. Common, Magic, and Rare gear continued dropping on screen regardless of settings.
-
Save Loop Glitch: Modifying the corrupted Season 15 slots directly or attempting to duplicate them resulted in broken parameters that refused to save.
The Temporary Workaround
The player eventually found a partial fix: duplicating an untouched Season 14 profile and manually editing it for Season 15.
While this bypasses the broken save slot and allows Diablo 4 items to be filtered again, it requires having an uncorrupted legacy profile available to copy. Anyone starting fresh in Season 15 without old profiles has no clean base to duplicate.
Season 15's Rough Start
This filter glitch adds to an already turbulent launch for Diablo 4 Season 15. The "Season of Hell’s Legacy"—intended to anchor the franchise's 30th anniversary featuring Deckard Cain—faced immediate delays due to launch-day server instability.
Since launch, the community has worked through several technical hitches:
-
Rebirth Gold and Paragon Carryover: An early bug allowed Rebirth characters to retain gold and Paragon Board progression that should have been wiped for the seasonal start.
-
Disabled Features: Solo Self-Found mode was briefly pulled offline at launch for hotfixing.
-
Reward Drops: Forum reports continue to document missing Exquisite Sparks and lost Mythic items tied to server-side desyncs.
While Blizzard has not yet officially confirmed the root cause of the loot filter wipe, players managing complex filter setups for Pit farming and Helltides should back up their rule structures immediately. Taking screenshots of your affix cutoffs, color tags, and item level thresholds ensures you won't have to reconstruct your entire filter layout from memory if your save profile resets.
