Although the launch date for Diablo 4 Season 15 has not yet been confirmed, this standard season seems to be garnering more attention than previous ones, perhaps because further details might be revealed at BlizzCon 2026.
Barring any surprises, the most likely release date for Season 15 is around September 15th, just half a month away! In addition to preparing reliable builds, you should also map out your leveling route in advance.
Doing so will allow you to level up faster than others during Season 15 launch period, giving you a head start on all subsequent progression. Below, we outline a step-by-step leveling path.

Starting with War Plans
Since their introduction in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, War Plans have become a highly popular source of XP and loot due to their effectiveness.
Their strength lies in combining various endgame events; this not only yields greater rewards than before but also allows you to unlock additional buff mechanics that further boost farming efficiency.
To focus on using this mechanic for leveling in Season 15, you need to run missions back-to-back and complete as many War Plans lists as possible.
This approach lets you unlock massive rewards while rapidly accumulating points in various upgrade trees. By the time you reach max level, you will have unlocked multiple nodes and be able to enjoy their associated bonuses.
It is worth noting that the rewards for turning in a War Plans list include not only a significant amount of XP but also serve as an excellent way to acquire rare D4 items during the early stages of Season 15.
Prioritize Helltides first
If you focus solely on War Plans system, you may encounter unavoidable obstacles during leveling, such as objectives that take a long time to complete or unfamiliar events you are forced to tackle.
Therefore, if your primary goal is efficient leveling, we recommend prioritizing Helltides after completing a few lists and securing your initial Season 15 resources.
When your character is at a lower level, Helltides appear more frequently than other endgame events. At this stage, the farming strategy focuses on minimizing combat; you only kill enough monsters to open chests and gain the associated XP.
Even if you aren't aiming for maximum leveling speed, this method is faster than the standard War Plans route. Not only is XP yield substantial, but you can also acquire rare gear early from the various chests, and even cherry-pick specific items based on your needs.
Additionally, you will accumulate a vast amount of crafting materials, as Helltides are incredibly rewarding. Your potential gains could be even higher if Surging Ruptures mechanic from 3.2.0 PTR is retained in Season 15.
Once your character level and Helltide upgrade tree progress are sufficiently advanced, you can focus on farming the massive monsters known as Hellwyrms within Helltides.

Hellwyrms are huge creatures that emerge from the ground during Helltide events. Killing them grants significant XP, and they also spew out swarms of killable lesser monsters and experience orbs.
To get the most out of these monsters, you should first unlock Writhe and Rot node in the upgrade tree. This causes Hellwyrms to spew out more powerful maggots, or even summon a Pang of Duriel.
If you are up to the challenge, you can further unlock Hellmouth node. This grants Hellwyrm one of three random abilities upon spawning; one such ability causes them to spawn more maggots that drop additional experience orbs.
Switching to Kurast Undercity
As your leveling progresses, you might grow tired of Helltide strategy. If you haven't finished your final upgrades by then, consider switching to Kurast Undercity via War Plans.
The mechanics of this endgame event are engaging. Activating beacons grants various buffs, such as increased movement speed, casting speed, and resource regeneration.
This means that even if your Diablo 4 Season 15 character isn't fully optimized yet, these buffs make it feel as though you are leveling up with a complete endgame build.

To maximize XP efficiency in Kurast Undercity, focus on unlocking Jade Epiphany node through War Plans. This node rewards you with extra experience orbs based on the attunement level you achieve within the dungeon.
Therefore, when you first enter Kurast Undercity, there is no need to clear every monster along the way; instead, you should rush straight to the end to complete the run and quickly unlock Jade Epiphany or other key nodes, as the dungeon itself does not offer high XP yields.
Only after unlocking that node do XP gains from increasing your Attunement Level, earned by killing enemies and activating beacons within the dungeon, become truly worthwhile.
If you have the capacity, you can farm more Tribute of Growth by completing other Diablo 4 endgame events before entering Kurast Undercity; offering this at the brazier in Kurast will significantly boost your XP rewards upon completing a dungeon run.
Summary
As you can see, this Diablo 4 Season 15 leveling strategy relies entirely on War Plans. To use it, you must have Lord of Hatred expansion, and accessing Kurast Undercity specifically requires Vessel of Hatred expansion.
While it is possible to level up in the new season using only the base game content, doing so is far less efficient and enjoyable. Therefore, it is highly recommended to unlock the expansions and make the most use of War Plans if you can!
