Players, many are currently grinding tirelessly in Diablo 4 Season 14 for Amethyst Fragments, but Flawless Horadric Amethyst seems a long way off.
Don't worry, there's a hidden shortcut in Season 14's Escalating Nightmare Dungeons - by mastering a clever affix selection and reset cycle, you can craft this top-tier gem in under an hour.
Preparation
Our sole objective is to craft a Flawless Horadric Amethyst within an hour to socket into equipment for Shadow Resistance.
To achieve this, we need to acquire 25 million Amethyst Fragments in Diablo 4 Season 14 beforehand, as this is essential for obtaining Grand Gems in the crafting path.
In other words, crafting a Flawless Horadric Amethyst starts with 25 million Amethyst Fragments, which are used to obtain 25 Grand Gems. These are then combined to create 25 Horadric Gems, ultimately resulting in the desired Flawless Horadric Amethyst.
Before crafting begins, players must ensure they have unlocked Branching Pathways node in Nightmare Dungeons Tree in War Plans. This node grants the ability to manually select subsequent affix levels in Escalating Nightmare Dungeons and is a crucial prerequisite for the entire process of selectively selecting Amethyst-related affixes.

Affix Selection
It's important to know that not every affix in Escalating Nightmare Dungeons needs to be strictly selected. For example, you can choose the affixes in the first and second layers according to your other needs to ensure a quick pass.
The key is the Level 3 affix selection screen, as we must simultaneously obtain two specific affixes.
Amethyst Reserve
Amethyst Reserve ensures all chests in dungeons drop Amethyst Fragments, and at Torment 12 difficulty, it increases the maximum drop rate per chest to 270,000 fragments, making it one of the affixes we absolutely must farm.
Dark Omen
The second affix we must farm is Dark Omen, as it triggers additional boss ambushes in dungeons (such as Butcher or X'fal). Each boss kill guarantees a drop of approximately 750,000 Amethyst Fragments, a key source for significantly accelerating fragment accumulation.
It's important to note that if the third tier of dungeons doesn't simultaneously display both of these affixes, we must abandon the current escalating sequence, restart a new round of Escalating Nightmare Dungeons, and repeat the first two tiers until both affixes are successfully matched.
While this affix selection process may be time-consuming, even exceeding the actual time spent farming Amethyst Fragments, once successful, it guarantees our subsequent efficiency.
Core Operation
Once we successfully farm Amethyst Reserve and Dark Omen, we can begin a looping process to infinitely reset this layer of dungeons without losing affixes.
Initial Clearance
First, upon entering the third layer of dungeons, open all the chests (each containing a maximum of 270,000 fragments) and defeat the boss summoned by Dark Omen to obtain 750,000 Amethyst Fragments.
Players must be extremely careful during this step; absolutely do not kill the final boss of this layer, otherwise our escalating sequence will end.
Return to Town
After clearing the third layer of dungeons, teleport back to town and walk into any nearby normal dungeon, such as Seer's Reach.
Reset Trigger
Upon entering the normal dungeon, players need to immediately open the map, switch to Sanctuary global view, and then teleport back to Escalating Nightmare Dungeons.
At this point, the most important chests in dungeons and the boss summoned by Dark Omen have already been refreshed, and the two ideal affixes we painstakingly matched earlier have also been completely retained.
Repeat the Loop
Now you should understand this loop - what we need to do is clear the chests and boss in this level of the dungeons again, then repeat the process of returning to town, entering a normal dungeon, and then teleporting back to Escalating Nightmare Dungeons.
You don't need to clear them when entering a normal dungeon, because the benefits you gain from it are incomparable to those from Escalating Nightmare Dungeons. Therefore, you should only use the normal dungeons as an important transition point in our loop.
We can execute the above loop an infinite number of times. After each reset, Amethyst Fragments we obtain will be the same as at the beginning, and there will be no limit to the number of escalating layers.
Final Efficiency and Crafting
If players follow the above cycle in Diablo 4 Season 14 starting with almost zero Amethyst Fragments, it will take less than 40 minutes to reach 27 million Amethyst Fragments, far exceeding our target of 25 million.
Then, players can consume Forgotten Souls and a large amount of gold to craft Amethyst Fragments into 25 Grand Gems, then into 25 Horadric Gems, ultimately obtaining a Flawless Horadric Amethyst.
It's worth noting that while the above cycle can be completed in less than 40 minutes, the initial selection of suitable affixes may take several tens of minutes.
If the entire selection and cycle process is still too cumbersome, you can simply buy Diablo 4 Flawless Horadric Amethyst from IGGM.com, eliminating the need for further crafting!
Expanding Potential
While this guide focuses on Flawless Horadric Amethyst, this cycle mechanic also applies to other gem types or materials (such as gold, Obducite, etc.).
For example, if you ultimately want to craft a Flawless Horadric Skull, then in the third-tier dungeons, change the affix to Skull Reserve corresponding to the gem fragment you want to obtain.
Once you successfully match the desired affix, you'll no longer have a headache crafting Flawless Horadric Amethyst in Diablo 4!
