Black Ops 7 Zombies Astra Malorum Easter Egg Guide | Full Walkthrough & Bosses

Astra Malorum, the biggest zombies Easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, is not easy to complete.
This Easter egg introduces a mysterious and powerful character that can sense the player's presence and actively track them. Whether you hide deep in the ruins, in an underground bunker, or try to use the terrain to avoid its sight, it will turn up at the edge of your vision and attack you.
Moreover, this boss cannot be truly eliminated. Even if you use all your resources and unleash your strongest firepower to take it down, it will still respawn in the next round, reappearing in an even more brutal and swift form.
This immortal state poses a constant threat to players in the game, greatly increasing the difficulty of completing Astra Malorum. If you want to complete all the tasks on this map, please follow this guide, which will lead you through the process.
1. Turn On The Power And Pack-a-Punch Machine
Like all Black Ops 7 Easter eggs, before starting Astra Malorum mission, you must first restore power and unlock Pack-a-Punch machine.
First, you will see a directional marker in the northwest of the area. Follow the direction it points to reach Luminarium. You will need to spend 1,250 Essence to open the door. You will find a Harmonic Component here; its location is randomly generated, so be sure to search carefully.
Next, you need to go to Machina Astralis, where there is another Harmonic Component. Collecting both Harmonic Components will allow you to repair Harmonic Oculus located in the observatory dome.
After repairing Harmonic Oculus, Pack-a-Punch machine will automatically unlock and the power will be officially activated. However, during the activation process, you need to protect Harmonic Oculus from zombie attacks for about 45 seconds. If you fail to protect it, you will need to return to the first step to continue unlocking it.
2. Get LGM-1
Now that you have restored power, you must kill the boss O.S.C.A.R. to obtain the powerful LGM-1 weapon. This character is the unkillable boss mentioned earlier. You need to find four necessary items on Astra Malorum map and design a trap to kill O.S.C.A.R. Required Items:
- Car Battery
- Aberrant Wiring
- Damaged Drone
- Absolute Zero Fragments x3
To obtain Car Battery, you must first go to Crash Site and shoot Ol' Tessie's car hood with an upgraded weapon; the battery is inside.
Aberrant Wiring can be obtained by finding a blinking light post and shooting it with an upgraded weapon.
Damaged Drone requires you to find O.S.C.A.R. and attack one of its small UFO drones; the dropped Damaged Drone is what you need. Remember, we don't need to kill O.S.C.A.R. yet, as we'll need it in the next few rounds.
Once you have the first three items, you only need to find 3 Absolute Zero Fragments. You must first purchase and assemble Cyro Freeze Ammo Mod from Arsenal for 500 Salvage. Then, find and shoot three glowing purple crystals to obtain Absolute Zero Fragments.
Once all items are collected, you can set a trap to kill O.S.C.A.R.
First, go to Observatory Dome, interact with Harmonic Oculus, and shoot the five smoking devices that appear. Next, find the sun in the telescope and aim at it. A bright orange beam will appear in the room, attracting O.S.C.A.R. This is the best time to kill it.
To obtain LGM-1, you need to kill O.S.C.A.R. three times. This time, go to Luminarium and use the projector to attract O.S.C.A.R. Once it enters the room, the room will lock down. Now, simply keep shooting the surrounding drones that are powering it up, and wait for Battery Overcharge bar to fill up; O.S.C.A.R. will then be automatically destroyed.
If you are unfortunately eliminated by O.S.C.A.R. or other zombies in this round, you can buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobbies from IGGM.com to train your shooting and weapon handling skills, allowing you to better attack O.S.C.A.R.
Finally, at Museum Infinitum, we defeated O.S.C.A.R. After activating the rocket trap, Absolute Zero Fragments will generate a white frozen trail. When O.S.C.A.R. walks into the frozen area, it will take damage. So in this round, you should try to make it walk into the frozen area. After O.S.C.A.R. dies in this round, it will drop LGM-1.
3. Solve Planets Puzzle
In this step, O.S.C.A.R. will revive. What you need to do is avoid being detected by it and follow it.
After following it for a while, O.S.C.A.R. will start playing a recording. When you hear Doctor Thurston's name, listen carefully to the following content. It will mention the names of three planets. You need to remember the names and order of these three planets. Based on this information, you will get a 3-digit password.
4. Getting Perfusion Machine
After obtaining the password, you need to return to Observatory Dome and enter the password into the device on the pillar near the south gate. An elevator will take you to an undisclosed location. You will obtain Cryo Chamber Key next to a body on the ground.
After obtaining the key, we still need to obtain Doctor Thurston's brain to activate Perfusion Machine. We need to go to the southwest corner of Museum Infinitum. There is a display case there; break it, and you will obtain Rock Saw. You need to use it to go to the bottom floor of Machina Astralis and find Cryo Chamber, where Doctor Thurston is located.
After obtaining the brain, we need to go to Luminarium again. On the east side of the
building, there will be a glowing purple machine; this is Perfusion Machine. Place Doctor Thurston's brain into it and complete a one-minute survival challenge to unlock Perfusion Machine.
We will place Perfusion Machine in an empty device in Machina Astralis. Press and hold the black interaction button until Perfusion Machine successfully connects to the device.
5. Solving Reading List Book Puzzle
After the device is successfully connected, the nearby computer will light up and display Dr. Thurston's Reading List. You need to write down the five book titles that appear, and then go to Archive of Orbis.
In Archive of Orbis, find the five books mentioned earlier and count the number of times these five books appear on the three bookshelves. Next, you need to rotate the busts on each bookshelf according to the number you obtained.
After correctly rotating the busts, the secret room will open. Climb the ladder next to it, and you will find the missing blue planet, Planet Neptune, at the top of the secret room.
After bringing it to the third floor of Machina Astralis, the metal rod will be suspended in mid-air. Interact with the metal rod, and you can place Planet Neptune into the solar system.
6. Aligning Planets
To proceed to the next step, you need to align the planets. On the map, you will find 3 notes containing clues about these positions. You can find these notes in the following locations:
- Planet Note Location #1 - Machina Astralis
- Planet Note Location #2 - Archive of Orbis
- Planet Note Location #3 - Luminarium
Once you have found all the notes and noted their directions, return to Machina Astralis and accurately shoot the planets in the directions you read on the notes to return them to their correct positions.
7. Surviving Mars
After completing a series of actions, return to Perfusion Machine and interact with it. A portal will open, and you need to wait there for about 2 minutes for the portal to reopen. During this time, you must protect the portal from O.S.C.A.R.'s attacks, otherwise you cannot reach Mars.
Upon arriving on Mars, pick up Perfusion Machine on the ground and insert the device into the giant machine at the top. You will then see four energy signal towers in the distance. You need to attack them in the following order: back right, back left, front right, and front left. After shooting the last tower, Ascendant Eye will fly here, and you need to grab it.
8. Solving Ascendant Eye Puzzle
After obtaining Ascendant Eye, you need to insert it into the large copper structure in the southeast corner and shoot the five rising energy towers with LGM-1 to activate them.
After activating the energy towers, you need to return to the Observatory Dome, interact with Harmonic Oculus, and obtain 5 symbols.
After mastering these symbols and their order, you need to return to Mars again and carefully check each activated stone pillar for these symbols. Then, interact with each stone pillar in the order the symbols appear. When the symbols on the stone pillars emit a blue light, it means you have successfully activated these pillars.
9. Caltheris
Finally, we arrive at the last step of the mission: defeating the final boss, Caltheris. This is no simple task; Caltheris is agile and can even move obstacles in the arena to prevent you from attacking. However, it will be easier to defeat it with teammates. The following are the four stages of attacking the final boss.
Phase One
In the first phase, Caltheris will float freely in the air and launch indiscriminate laser attacks. You cannot target it directly. To inflict damage, you need to kill all the zombies in the arena to charge the energy towers.
Once the energy towers are fully charged, Perfusion Machine will deplete approximately one-third of Caltheris's health. You can charge multiple energy towers to deplete the boss's health faster.
Phase Two
In this phase, Caltheris will transform into a stone giant and roam freely on the map. You must avoid it as much as possible, otherwise, its massive body will corner you against the wall, leaving you with no escape. You can use LMG-1 to destroy its shield, exposing its weak points, and then use M34 Novaline to inflict further damage.
Phase Three
If you successfully reach the third phase, you will see Caltheris in its enhanced form from the second phase. It will attack more fiercely, not only constantly throwing stones at you but also summoning many zombies to attack you.
All you can do is dodge as much as possible and use LGM-1 to shoot at it from a safe distance. Once Caltheris's health decreases, the mission will enter the final stage.
Phase Four
In this stage, planning a route and deploying a battle plan with your teammates is crucial. The stones Caltheris throws will be larger and will also generate an electric field. If you are unfortunately hit, try using a stimulant; it might save your life.
You can also find some gaps in the arena to hide. After ensuring your safety, fight alongside your teammates and attack Caltheris together. Once its health is slowly depleted, you will complete Astra Malorum Easter egg mission and receive the corresponding rewards.
The above is a guide to completing Astra Malorum Easter egg quest. We hope you can complete it and unlock the exciting final cutscene.
