Is Combat Rogue Still the Best Leveling Spec in WoW Forever?

    Published: Oct 19, 2026Views: 58

In WoW Forever, Rogue class hasn't been completely overhauled; instead, it retains the familiar stealth and burst-damage gameplay that players know and love, while receiving a number of quality-of-life improvements that make the experience feel much smoother.

Friends, with the beta phase still underway, let's take a comprehensive look at how Rogue class performs in this new environment!

WoW Forever Rogue Guide: Best Spec, Talents & Leveling Path

    Core Mechanics

The most immediate change for Rogue in WoW Classic+ concerns Energy system.

In the original Vanilla version, Energy regenerated in chunks of 20 every two seconds. Now, it regenerates continuously every 1.1 seconds.

This results in a much steadier combat rhythm - the need to pause and wait for a specific regeneration tick is significantly reduced, making the overall gameplay feel more fluid.

Furthermore, Combo Point system has become more forgiving: when you switch targets, Combo Points on your previous target do not vanish instantly.

This allows for much greater flexibility when shifting focus between enemies or maintaining crowd-control effects.

Poisons also deserve special attention; their maximum charge count has been increased by roughly 50%, and they can now coexist with temporary weapon enhancements like Windfury.

More importantly, Poison damage now scales with Attack Power rather than remaining a fixed value, significantly increasing its contribution to sustained damage output.

Rogue abilities related to Stealth have also been adjusted: Sap no longer breaks Stealth, allowing for safer, more reliable crowd control when initiating encounters in dungeons.

Meanwhile, Distract now lowers Stealth level of enemies, making it easier to flush out opposing Rogues in PvP.

Finally, Rogues can now wield axes. This expands the range of available weaponry, offering more versatility for different talent builds and combat scenarios.

If you plan on maintaining multiple sets of weapons for various playstyles, stocking up on WoW Forever gold in advance will make it much easier to acquire the gear you need.

    Talent Trees

In the game, Rogue's three talent trees - Assassination, Combat, and Subtlety - each offer distinct characteristics, leading to fundamentally different playstyles.

Talent Trees of Rogue in WoW Forever

    Assassination Rogue

In WoW Forever, Assassination Rogue functions as a system built primarily around the use of Poisons and Daggers.

Vile Poisons increases poison damage, reduces the chance of poisons being dispelled, and boosts their proc rate, while Improved Poisons gives poisons a chance not to consume a charge.

Together, these talents transform poisons from a mere source of bonus damage into a fundamental pillar of Rogue's combat rotation.

For Assassination Rogue, Mutilate serves as the primary combo-point generator. It strikes with both weapons - dealing increased damage to poisoned targets - and, since it has no positional requirements, offers greater flexibility in combat.

Seal Fate grants additional combo points on critical strikes, further accelerating the rate at which Mutilate builds resources.

Furthermore, Rogue's finishing move, Venom, increases both poison damage and proc rates for its duration, creating a direct synergy with the aforementioned poison-related talents.

Combined with Slice and Dice, Assassination Rogue's gameplay revolves around maintaining buffs while using Mutilate to generate combo points; while the rotation is not overly complex, it demands a high level of focus when engaging single targets.

    Combat Rogue

Next, let's look at Combat Rogue path in WoW Classic Plus, which remains largely similar to the original Vanilla version.

Endurance reduces the cooldowns of Sprint and Evasion, allowing for more frequent use of these essential survival abilities.

Precision provides hit chance while requiring fewer talent points, offering greater flexibility in how you allocate your points.

Flawless Execution lowers Energy cost of Eviscerate, making it easier to weave finishing moves into your rotation.

Blade Flurry remains the core talent for Combat Rogue's offensive output, enabling your attacks to strike multiple nearby enemies.

Finally, you should also focus on Weapon Expertise and Adrenaline Rush, which improve hit consistency and provide a significant, short-term boost to Energy regeneration.

    Subtlety Rogue

According to the development team, Subtlety Rogue in WoW Forever is designed with a greater focus on PvE, centered on the use of daggers, Ambush, Hemorrhage, and similar mechanics. Key talents you should focus on include:

    • Improved Ambush
    • Ghostly Strike
    • Serrated Blades
    • Hemorrhage
    • Cutthroat
    • Dirty Deeds

For a Subtlety Rogue, your damage output relies on Hemorrhage and Serrated Blades to bolster the damage of Rupture. Since Rupture can now land critical hits, its damage-over-time (DoT) potential has become significantly more substantial.

Building on this, Cutthroat talent gives Backstab a chance to allow your next Ambush to be used without requiring Stealth, effectively enabling a seamless transition between Backstab and Ambush.

Other related talents serve to make the ability rotations of a Subtlety Rogue smoother and provide greater flexibility in crowd control.

    Leveling Paths

In WoW Classic Plus, the leveling experience for a Rogue is more flexible than before, with viable options across all three talent trees.

However, a Combat Rogue remains a reliable choice; thanks to talents like Blade Flurry, it can handle multiple targets with ease - making it highly effective in areas with high enemy density and helping to speed up the leveling process.

In contrast, both Assassination and Subtlety Rogues rely on maintaining specific buffs, which can make gameplay feel less fluid when you are frequently moving or switching between targets - a factor worth considering when choosing your leveling path.

In short, while the changes to Rogue class in WoW Forever are relatively minor, the excellent feel of the gameplay makes it well worth experiencing.

Does Diablo 4 Have a Future after D5's Announcement?

    Published: Oct 19, 2026Views: 373

Diablo 4 Season 15 is the biggest and widely regarded as the best season the game has ever had. Meanwhile, Diablo V has been officially announced and is expected to launch in 2.5 to 3 years, provided there are no further delays. In addition, the next new class, Amazon, has been confirmed to arrive as part of its own Class Pack.

However, the developers have confirmed that no further major expansions are planned for Diablo 4. Although more characters and Class Packs will still arrive in the future, the era of large-scale expansions is over. Does this mean Diablo 4 will no longer be a major focus for future updates?

Diablo 4 Future Roadmap after Season 15 | New Content without Major Expansions

    Class Packs

One of the most noteworthy upcoming additions is Amazon Class Pack, expected to launch in the first half of 2027. So far, the developers have only announced Amazon itself.

However, Amazon Class Pack section in the official Diablo news center's information sheet explicitly states that additional features included in the pack will be revealed in the future.

This suggests that the pack will offer more than just a new class and could introduce other systems or features. In that sense, it could be considered a mini-expansion.

This approach is similar to Class Pack model used in Diablo III, where Necromancer, for example, arrived alongside several additional systems.

Future Diablo 4 Class Packs could be much larger than many players expect. The key assumption is that most of the content that would previously have been included in a major paid expansion will instead be delivered through seasons and Class Packs. However, the game will no longer feature massive campaigns that require extremely high production costs.

    Main Story Campaigns

A typical campaign involves expensive CG cinematics, extensive voice acting, environmental set pieces, one-off boss encounters, and large amounts of content designed for a single playthrough.

Most players skip the campaign after completing it once, making the return on investment for this type of content less attractive.

However, this does not mean the game will stop telling stories. Future seasons will still follow an interconnected narrative, but their scope will be closer to Season 5: a handful of quests, some voice acting, and a storyline that unfolds throughout the season without being particularly lengthy.

The resources saved by scaling back campaign development will likely be redirected toward Diablo V. Meanwhile, Diablo 4 will continue receiving content that would traditionally have accompanied an expansion beyond its main campaign, including new classes, systems, balance changes, endgame content, Diablo 4 items, and potentially smaller areas or more replayable dungeons.

    Diablo 4 campaign update

    The Focus of New Seasons

In developer interviews around BlizzCon, the future of Diablo 4 was a recurring topic. Brent Gibson, one of the leaders responsible for Diablo 4, stated that Diablo is a universe spanning multiple games. The developers are even continuing to expand Diablo II through Warlock class.

As long as the community continues to support Diablo 4, the team intends to support its seasons over the long term, just as it has with Diablo II and Diablo III.

With Diablo II: Resurrected serving as a reference point, future seasons are likely to focus on new classes, major new systems, endgame content, balance overhauls, new items, and similar additions.

New areas appear less likely. If any are introduced, they will probably be smaller zones or locations designed for repeatable dungeon content rather than entire new continents.

    Future Season Plans

The development team has stated that it has already planned content, systems, and overhaul directions through Season 18. This represents the portion of the roadmap currently planned, not a commitment to stop at Season 18.

Season 15 was made particularly substantial in part to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Diablo franchise. Even though Season 15 already offers a wealth of content, the developers have still held some additions back for release in future seasons.

These reserved additions could include other major antagonists from previous Diablo games. Based on the current seasonal storyline, Malthael could return in a future season. He might appear as a memory, spirit, or phantom and serve as an Uber Boss encounter.

    Class and Item Overhauls

BlizzCon also revealed that one of Diablo 4's biggest priorities going forward is giving players more ways to create builds.

The developers have mentioned introducing new itemization systems, attributes, and affixes, gradually building on the existing foundations to enable more complex and diverse builds.

Season 15 already reflects this direction. Splinter mechanic, combined with items such as Leoric's Crown, creates new opportunities for different builds. Meanwhile, Diablo II's unique Runes and Runewords have significantly expanded the possibilities for character customization.

The developers have also indicated that they will expand different aspects of the game, including overhauling Mythic Uniques and Paragon system, to keep the experience fresh.

In addition, the team wants to expand War Plans and endgame skill trees, giving players more options for endgame activities and character customization.

Games such as Path of Exile 1 and Torchlight: Infinite do not frequently release large paid campaigns. Path of Exile 2 also initially began as a new campaign for Path of Exile 1 before evolving into a standalone game.

Compared with large-scale campaigns, expanding endgame systems and build options is a better fit for the seasonal update model used by ARPGs.

At the very least, Diablo 4 will probably continue receiving new seasons until Diablo V launches. Even after the release, the game could continue with smaller seasonal updates if its player base declines, or bring back older seasons in a format similar to Diablo II. Overall, the future of Diablo 4 still looks quite bright.

How to Get Rainbow Prisoners, Manage the Prison & Maximize Rewards in Torchlight Infinite SS14 Tartarus

    Published: Oct 19, 2026Views: 149

Torchlight: Infinite SS14 Tartarus crams a complete prison management cycle into the rhythm of dungeon crawling and looting. Players are no longer just hunters, but take charge of a circular prison in Netherrealm as a warden, making trade-offs between hunting, taming, and suppressing prisoners.

The fun of this season's mechanics lies not in the instant gains, but in how each management decision cascades down to the final riot resolution.

    Acquiring Prisoner Nameplates

Torchlight Infinite SS14 Tartarus Guide: Build Stronger Prisoners for Better Warden's Caches

Tartarus cycle begins with regular Netherrealm dungeon crawling. Escaped prisoners will randomly appear on the map; defeating them will reward you with Prisoner Nameplates. The number of nameplates determines the management rounds that can be unlocked, essentially your ticket to Tartarus prison sandbox.

This design seamlessly integrates seasonal gameplay with daily dungeon runs: players don't need to specifically stop building progression to participate in seasonal gameplay; instead, they can capture and escort escaped prisoners back to prison while continuously advancing through Netherrealm.

Upon entering the sandbox, players face a circular prison with 16 cells and a management phase lasting 20 in-game days. Here, days refer to actions, not real-world time; each move, swap, or use of torture devices consumes days.

With limited time and a finite cap on prisoner rarity, the core challenge of the management phase is how to cultivate as many high-rarity prisoners as possible using the shortest path.

The core logic of Tartarus management: Rarity and the food chain

Prisoners in Tartarus prison are arranged from lowest to highest rarity:

    • Normal
    • Magic
    • Rare
    • Legendary
    • Supreme
    • Chromatic (Rainbow)

The primary means of increasing rarity is devour. When a prisoner's head displays a tooth icon, it indicates that it can devour a fellow prisoner of the same rarity below it in the food chain, thus increasing its own rarity level.

The food chain's rock-paper-scissors relationship is the underlying rule of Tartarus gameplay: Mammoth beats Lion, Lion beats Wolf, Wolf beats Rat, and Rat, in turn, beats Mammoth at the top.

In actual gameplay, you don't need to memorize this chain; the tooth icon on the prisoner directly indicates the target it can devour. However, understanding the rock-paper-scissors relationship helps in advance on the board, avoiding placing key prisoners in the wrong adjacent positions.

Each rainbow prisoner is removed from the sandbox and individually housed, simultaneously granting a permanent Warden's Collection buff to the overall management.

While this buff doesn't directly participate in subsequent battles, its accumulated collection progress is linked to the quality of the final Warden's Caches. Therefore, the earlier you plan the rainbow prisoner synthesis path, the greater the benefit at the end of the game.

    Torture Tools and Prison Incidents

In TLI SS14, prison management isn't limited to predation and evolution among prisoners. Torture tools and prison incidents are also crucial variables influencing the pace of prisoner development. Properly utilizing these mechanisms can improve cell layout, accelerate the development of high-rarity prisoners, and build an advantage for the final riot phase.

Torture Tools: Flexible Intervention in Prison Development

The value of torture tools lies not only in directly increasing prisoner rarity but also in breaking the limitations of the conventional food chain, creating new development opportunities on the board.

Some torture tools function around the swap mechanism, such as repositioning eligible prisoners or having a chance to directly upgrade prisoners below legendary rarity to legendary level.

The value of these torture tools lies in bypassing racial advantages - when there's a lack of suitable targets for consumption on the board, a successful torture tool trigger can directly create a usable high-rarity individual, opening a gap for subsequent chain consumption.

Another type of torture tools is triggered by devouring itself. Some have a chance to open random cells after consumption, making newly spawned prisoners available for consumption; others directly remove prisoners from the board and increase the rarity of remaining prisoners, but often come with the risk of accidentally harming high-value prisoners.

Prison Incidents: Choosing Between Random Gains and Development Efficiency

In addition to actively using torture devices, prison incidents can occur during prison management. Faced with different options in the interrogation room, players need to weigh the benefits based on the current situation.

    Incitement

Incitement focuses on triggering additional prison events, creating new variables for subsequent management. Its value depends on the specific effects of the event and whether the player currently has the ability to utilize the new opportunities.

When the board lacks effective predators, or when players want to gain additional development and resource opportunities, the potential benefits of incitement can be prioritized.

    Reward

Reward options focus on directly increasing prisoner rarity. When there are legendary prisoners on the board that are about to be developed, the random promotion of Reward may directly push them into the chromatic tier.

    Riot Suppression and Warden's Caches

    Torchlight Infinite Tartarus Riot

After the 20-day management period, the prisoners you've raised will become boss-level enemies. Once a riot breaks out, you must suppress three prison blocks in sequence, defeating prisoners to unlock the corresponding Warden's caches. Higher prisoner rarity offers greater potential rewards, but also means greater combat pressure.

Therefore, to balance high returns and efficient completion, you need to plan your prisoner development path and strengthen your character build in advance. To speed up equipment acquisition and improve overall combat capabilities, you can buy Torchlight Infinite Flame Elementium to prepare for the final suppression.

Followers: Additional Rewards from Prison Management

Tartarus doesn't only produce prisoners and Warden's caches. Letters of Introduction earned during management can be used to recruit followers in the interrogation room, converting the results of prison management into direct combat power.

Followers are divided into four groups: Lone Wolf, Mammoth, Witch Rat, and Lion Queen, each possessing unique Tartarus abilities that can provide buffs, protection, or debuffs to enemies within Netherrealm.

Followers do not occupy the player's original skill slots, and their skills drop with random auxiliary effects. Higher rank followers can equip more active and auxiliary skills.

In short, the core of Torchlight: Infinite Tartarus is to convert every hunt, instrument use, and event choice into long-term benefits within a limited number of management turns. A truly efficient warden not only needs to know how to cultivate high-rarity prisoners but also needs to find a balance between management costs, riot difficulty, and final rewards.
