Social interaction is an essential element of ArcheAge Chronicles. It's not just about making friends; it also allows you to quickly assemble a team when you want to tackle dungeons or raids.
ArcheAge Chronicles system that best leverages this social aspect is the guild. Guilds not only bring together players who would otherwise be scattered, but they also offer various potential bonuses and rewards.
While you could simply join an existing guild, creating your own gives you full control over member management, the social atmosphere, and more.
Below, we'll outline the requirements for creating a guild, based on the features currently available in ArcheAge Chronicles early access, as well as the benefits you can enjoy by doing so.
Prerequisites for creating a guild
In short, to create your own guild in ArcheAge Chronicles, you must first join Blue Salt Brotherhood and reach the rank of Pioneer Operative to unlock the guild creation feature.
To achieve this, you need to complete a series of main story quests and promotion quests for the brotherhood. The key steps in the main storyline are as follows:
- Travel to Silent Crossway and defeat the designated enemy, Malchuk, to complete the quest A Reason to Believe.
- Accept and complete the quest Settling a Debt.
- Follow the instructions to travel to the tavern at Seaclass Hub and locate Antaniel.
- Accept and complete the quest An Offer You Can't Refuse.
- Follow the instructions to travel to Pioneer's Assembly Hall, officially join Blue Salt Brotherhood, and attain the rank of Pioneer Operative.
Once you have completed these steps, the guild creation feature will be unlocked.
How to build your guild?
You can customize your guild in ArcheAge Chronicles by setting its name, description, and entry requirements, including a minimum level threshold for new members (ranging from level 5 to 30). Additionally, you can define specific ranks, such as Trainee, Pioneer, or Senior Operative.
Currently, the only available method for joining a guild is automatic entry. This means that anyone who meets the requirements can join immediately, without the need for you or other administrators to manually approve their applications.
To be honest, this setup is a bit odd, though that may simply be because the game is still in Early Access and not yet fully polished. Given the current cap on guild membership, it would be wise for the developers to make some adjustments down the line.
That said, if you hit the member cap and find that certain players are no longer a good fit, you can always remove them from your guild.
Looking ahead, we hope to see more customization options for guilds, such as the ability to set a unique emblem or flag, allowing players to consume ArcheAge Chronicles gold to select or design their own preferred imagery.
More tips on guild management
Once your guild is created, you can locate it under the community tab in-game. From there, you can view and edit your guild's settings.
Guilds start at Level 1 with a maximum capacity of 10 members. You can view detailed information for each member, including their class, last login time, and their contribution score.
Beyond waiting for players to join on their own, you can also actively invite others, either by inviting friends directly or by clicking the Invite to Guild button when viewing another player's profile card.
Additionally, as the founder, you can manage member ranks and assign specific titles.
To increase your guild's member capacity, you'll need to upgrade the system. All guild members can contribute to this by completing quests to earn XP required for upgrades.
You can travel to Pioneer's Assembly Hall and check the guild quest board for available daily tasks; each character can complete up to five quests per day.
These quests are generally straightforward, usually involving the delivery of common ArcheAge Chronicles items, and currently grant 10 XP each.
Therefore, to accelerate your guild's growth, you should prioritize recruiting players you trust, people who will consistently complete their daily guild quests.
According to rumors, the maximum possible guild size is 41. Given that the game features 20-player raids and various PvP activities, this cap seems quite reasonable.
However, reaching that maximum capacity will likely require a significant amount of effort.
Benefits of joining a guild
Whether you create one yourself or join an existing group, being part of a guild, especially one with a decent number of members, offers clear and significant advantages, primarily by boosting the efficiency of team-based combat.
With the exception of some simpler dungeons or quests, most combat scenarios in ArcheAge Chronicles are best tackled through team cooperation.
While you could use public chat channels to form groups with strangers on the fly, being in a guild saves you that time, allowing you to assemble a team and jump into the action much faster.
Furthermore, a consistent guild group makes it easier to develop stable combat synergy; should any adjustments be needed, communication among members is also far more convenient and friendly.
Additionally, ArcheAge Chronicles features a rent guild settlements system. In short, these are private residential areas exclusive to a guild, where members can collaborate to construct buildings and various production facilities.
However, as it stands, the resource investment required for construction within these settlements is disproportionately high. According to the development team, this is because the feature is still a work in progress and not yet fully refined.
That concludes our guide to creating a guild in ArcheAge Chronicles, based on the information currently available. As the game continues to receive updates, this system is expected to become even more polished and comprehensive!
