ARC Raiders Patch 1.18.0 Means the End of High Blueprint Drop Rates | Hurricane Caches, Safe Pocket, and More Bugs Fixed

To promptly fix bugs and maintain the stability of the game environment and experience, ARC Raiders releases various patches periodically, in addition to major official updates.
In Update 1.17.0, which was released on February 24th, the February update, Shrouded Sky, went live as scheduled. A few days later, on March 3rd, ARC Raiders released several new changes with Patch 1.18.0 to ensure a smoother Shrouded Sky experience.
This article will provide a comprehensive overview of all content and changes in Patch 1.18.0 to prevent you from missing important information in future games.

Safe pocket bug fixed
The safe pocket in ARC Raiders is a more secure backpack; items stored inside will not be lost or looted upon your character's death. However, due to its limited size, it is primarily used to store high-value loot, such as hatch keys or blueprints.
Every character starts with a safe pocket. You can later exchange 6000 coins at vendors for one, or equip Looting MK. 2 Augment to increase your safe pocket count - so this augment is also known as Safekeeper Augment.
Before Patch 1.18.0, there was a bug in ARC Raiders that allowed you to put extra loot into your safe pocket without a Looting MK. 2. This has now been fixed.
It's worth noting that the safe pocket provided by Looting MK. 2 differs from the initial safe pocket; the former allows you to store rarer loot. Therefore, if this bug hadn't been fixed, it would have severely impacted game balance.
In addition, there was another bug with the safe pocket that allowed you to put it in your pocket while using Snap Hook. This tool is meant to throw a grappling hook to help you reach higher destinations faster.
This bug could cause the hook to suddenly become ineffective during climbing due to being retracted, ruining your gameplay and potentially leading to unnecessary losses from falls.
Hurricane Caches bug fixed
Hurricane is a new map event introduced in Shrouded Sky update, and the associated caches are additional treasures introduced for ARC Raiders.
These Hurricane Caches yield more and rarer loot than regular game containers, including ARC Raiders blueprints, which were difficult to get previously, as well as other high-tier items and weapons.
However, prior to Patch 1.18.0, the blueprint drop rate in caches seemed excessively high, making it too easy to find high-value blueprints and disrupting the game's item system, leading to criticism and dissatisfaction within the player community.
To quell the controversy, the developers have slightly reduced the drop rate of rare blueprints in Hurricane Caches in this update, but correspondingly increased the drop rate of other high-level materials.
Even so, compared to other gameplay elements, Hurricane First Wave Caches remain an effective way to obtain blueprints, although it won't consistently yield 3-5 blueprints per cache opening as before.
To find these caches faster, you must first wait for Hurricane map condition to appear on maps other than Stella Montis. Because this map is an indoor map, and these caches only spawn in the open world.
Generally, Dam Battlegrounds and Blue Gate are two maps with a higher cache density and a better looting experience. Once inside the map, you'll need to brave the strong winds and dust storms, using special sound effects to locate the caches.
Therefore, to avoid interference from other factors, it's best to wear headphones and farm Hurricane Caches in a sufficiently quiet environment. Alternatively, if you've already played several rounds, you can simply travel to familiar spawn points to find them.
Controlled Access Zone hot fix
This zone is also new content after Shrouded Sky update and is part of Dam Battlegrounds. The patch notes only mention adding a hot fix for it, without elaborating on the details; it should be a minor bug.
The value of Controlled Access Zone lies in its ability to provide more high-value loot, attracting many players, so minor issues are not surprising; they can be fixed promptly.
However, unlocking this area requires completing a prerequisite puzzle and cooperating with other players. To avoid unnecessary PvP combat, you can enter the map alone and use the close-range chat to find three partners willing to solve the puzzle with you.
This is because unlocking the puzzle requires pressing four buttons to open two doors, which cannot be done alone. If you and your friends aren't afraid of PvP conflict, you can also team up to enter.
Other minor bug fixed
In addition to the above bug fixes related to the main gameplay, Patch 1.18.0 also fixed some ARC enemies to address their appearance and performance drops that related combat could cause.
Furthermore, the previously added Worth Your Salt quest had a bug that prevented you from progressing if another player had already completed it in the same raid. This has now been fixed.
We mentioned this when introducing the walkthrough for all the new quests and suggested completing Worth Your Salt quest after the bug was fixed; now is the best time!
The last fix concerns the menu. Now, navigating to Player Proximity menu will no longer cause a crash.
That concludes everything in ARC Raiders Patch 1.18.0. Hopefully, our detailed guide will help you avoid unnecessary mistakes in the game. Have fun!
