ARC Raiders Bastion Snowball Challenge Guide: Stop Missing! The Easiest Way to Earn 4,000+ Points!

Category: ARC Raiders Posted: Jan 09, 2026 Views: 2990

Greetings, Raiders! Have you completed this week's trial? To be honest, the overall difficulty of this week's trial is not high. If there's one part that might be a bit challenging, it's probably the "Throw snowballs at Bastions" task, which might take you some time.

This task might look familiar if you participate in the trials every week. That's right, there was also a snowball throwing challenge last week, but the target was Rocketeers.

However, attacking Bastions with snowballs in ARC Raiders is significantly more difficult than attacking Rocketeers. The former are large, heavily armored, stationary targets that require precise hits to their weak points to inflict effective damage; while the latter, although mobile, are easier to take down. A precise shot to their thrusters can disable them, making their movements less unpredictable and easier to hit with snowballs.

Therefore, compared to temporarily disabled Rocketeers, Bastions' massive size and continuous firepower make them a more difficult target, especially when using short-range snowball attacks.

But don't worry, because here we'll share some effective game strategies and techniques for throwing snowballs at Bastions that we've already tested.

ARC Raiders Bastion Snowball Challenge Guide: Stop Missing! The Easiest Way to Earn 4000+ Points!

How to get three stars?

First, we need to understand that the threshold for achieving a three-star reward in the "Throw snowballs at Bastions" task is 4000 points. Since the three-star reward is one of the most reliable ways to obtain Epic items, or even legendary blueprints, we need to aim for the highest score possible.

Each time you hit a Bastion with a snowball, you get 100 points. It's worth noting that under certain special map conditions (Electromagnetic Storm, Cold Snap, and Night Raid), the points you receive can be doubled, meaning you get 200 points per hit. This means you only need to hit Bastions 20 times to get 4000 points. Of course, if you want to climb the leaderboard, the higher the score, the better.

How to improve accuracy?

To increase the probability of hitting Bastions, we need to utilize their weakness - they can only shoot in a straight line. You, however, can throw snowballs in a parabolic trajectory. This means we only need to actively seek cover, especially in high places, so we can safely throw snowballs. Even if Bastion shoots at us, it can only shoot in a straight line, hitting obstacles instead of us.

However, I want to remind you that if you want to climb the leaderboard and get promoted, you should form a three-person team to complete this challenge. This is because you can carry three fully loaded snowball backpacks at once, and even if you run out of snowballs, you can replenish them indefinitely until the timer ends. So you can rack up a very high score.

Best Locations

Spaceport: Rocket Assembly

One of the best places to safely throw snowballs is Rocket Assembly building in Spaceport. This is because there are three snowball piles in the building, meaning you can collect snowballs and attack Bastion without taking cold damage.

There's also excellent cover here, so you can lure Bastion from one of its spawn points to this location, then trap it with obstacles, keeping it inside the building, quickly collecting snowballs and bombarding it. More importantly, there's a hatch nearby that allows you to retreat at any time. It offers both offensive and defensive advantages.

Spaceport: Container Storage

Another excellent location is Spaceport Container Storage, which is right next to a Bastion spawn point, so you can easily lure it into the warehouse. There are two snowball piles inside the containers, which you can collect in advance. If you're playing solo, you can use the containers inside as cover and take advantage of the elevation difference. This is one of the best places to throw snowballs at Bastion from a high position.

Dam Battlegrounds: Pipeline Tower Top

Another excellent location to fight Bastion is the top of Pipeline Tower next to the Power Generation Complex in Dam Battlegrounds. The advantage of this location is that there are no ladders to reach the top. So you have to use a Snap Hook or Zipline, but this also means you can easily avoid attacks from other players.

You can collect a full backpack of snowballs, then quickly reach the top of the tower using a Snap Hook and start attacking Bastion. However, please note that if Bastion is angered in this location, it will be a bit difficult to continue attacking it because there is a lot of space below for it to move and hide.

So, don't rush to attack. Pause for a moment and lure it to one side of the building. On the other side of the building, there's a protruding ledge where Bastion will take cover, but it can't completely conceal itself. Therefore, you can throw snowballs at it from an arc angle, while it can only shoot in a straight line, allowing you to complete your challenge quite safely.

Other Locations

If you find these popular locations too crowded on weekends, you can try attacking Bastion that spawns next to Parking Garage in Buried City, or the one that spawns below Checkpoint at The Blue Gate. These are suitable for solo challenges and are not too crowded.

Equipment Selection

Next, the equipment you need for this challenge is basically just an Anvil, as any weapon that can hit Bastion's leg joints can be used to slow it down or even completely disable it, and the higher the damage, the better. However, to be honest, this isn't strictly necessary. If you find excellent locations like these, you can even throw snowballs directly at an undamaged Bastion, as you don't need to worry about it hurting you.

In addition, you can bring a Photoelectric Cloak in case you need to move to better cover; and a Raider Hatch Key, because during Cold Snap weather, it's best not to risk using public elevators for extraction. Extracting through a hatch can help you avoid the last bit of risk and successfully earn your trial points.

However, what ARC Raiders items you carry isn't really important; you can even complete all of this with free equipment, because as long as you collect 20 snowballs and hit Bastion with all of them, you can easily get 4000 points.

Of course, if your goal is to leave your name on the leaderboard, unlock cosmetic rewards, win valuable in-game loot, and ultimately reach the Cantina Legend rank by improving your ranking, then you won't be content with just 4000 points. But with these tips, reaching the top is only a matter of time. Go ahead and throw snowballs like crazy before the trial ends and show off your skills among the players in your division!
