In Aion 2, the pet system is not only part of the game's collection and display gameplay, but also closely related to character growth and combat power enhancement. From pet collection and mount usage to attribute bonuses, players can gradually improve their pet development system by continuously unlocking and raising different pets.
For players who want to deeply experience the game's content, understanding how the pet system works and how to effectively utilize related resources will be an indispensable part of their adventure.
How to Obtain Pets?

In Aion 2, there are various and unique ways to obtain pets. The most basic way is to collect Pet Souls by defeating specific monsters in the open world.
When you defeat a monster, there is a chance to obtain its soul. Accumulating 5 souls will unlock the corresponding pet. After unlocking, the pet can not only be used for visual display, but also directly as a mount, allowing you to ride it to travel in towns and the wild.
If you wish to acquire pets faster, you can do so through the following methods:
- Completing All Geared Up Episode quest will allow you to choose one of three initial pets as a reward;
- Unlock pets at Black Cloud Merchant using Aion 2 gold;
- Obtain them through pet selection chests, event rewards, etc.
The game currently features over 200 collectible pets, scattered throughout the world, ranging from adorable little creatures to massive beasts. Each pet belongs to one of five races: Fera, Cogni, Natura, Varian, and Special, with different races providing different types of attribute bonuses.
Owned Effects Stacking Mechanism
The core value of pets lies not only in their riding appearance but also in the unique owned effects each pet provides.
These are permanent passive attribute bonuses, and importantly, you don't need to constantly equip a specific pet to gain its owned effects. Once a pet is unlocked, its attribute bonuses are permanently active and stack with the owned effects of all other pets.
This means that collecting a wide variety of pets is itself a form of character development. Each pet's owned effects may seem small, such as 1 point of Mount Ground Move Speed or 3 points of Stamina, but when the effects of dozens or even hundreds of pets are stacked together, the overall boost to a character's combat power is considerable.
In the global version, the pet level cap is 3: collect 5 souls to unlock level 1, collect an additional 25 souls to reach level 2, and collect another 75 souls to reach level 3.
A total of 100 souls are needed to level up from level 1 to level 3. Each level up unlocks a new owned effect; for example, a Cogni pet might provide 10 HP at level 1, an additional 1 critical hit at level 2, and an additional 1 might and 2 critical hits at level 3.
Genus Insight Cultivation System
Genus Insight is the most in-depth development mechanism in Aion 2 pet system. Each of the five races has its own independent Insight level, and players gain Genus Insight experience points by collecting pets of specific races and increasing their Insight level.
Unlocking a new pet grants 500 Genus Insight experience points. Reaching pet Insight levels 2 and 3 each grants 250 experience points.
As Genus Insight levels increase, new attribute slots are unlocked. Players can use Analysis function to roll attribute effects. Genus Insight has a maximum level of 10, unlocking one slot per level, resulting in a total of 10 attribute bonuses.
Regarding attribute quality, different levels unlock attributes of varying rarities. Level 1 only grants Common quality attributes, level 4 introduces a chance of Epic quality, level 7 unlocks Unique, and level 9 unlocks Heroic quality attributes - the highest quality attribute bonus in the game.
When all five types of Genus Insight reach level 10, the Unbound by Genus title is unlocked, providing a 4.5% PvE damage bonus, a 34 attack bonus, and a 68 critical strike bonus.
Analysis Strategy

As mentioned above, Genus Insight's Analysis function can roll for attributes, but the results are random and cost Soul Crystals and Kinah. Therefore, mastering the correct Analysis strategy is especially important for every player in the early stages when resources are limited.
A key strategy is: don't rush to lock attributes when your Genus Insight level is low. This is because early Analysis only yields low-quality attributes, and locking these attributes is a waste of resources.
A wiser approach is to try your luck with free batch Analysis at lower levels, saving the locking strategy until Genus Insight reaches level 9. Only at level 9 do you have a chance to obtain heroic quality attributes. Many players invest heavily in locking epic or unique attributes early on, but as the level increases, these attributes are eventually replaced by heroic quality, resulting in a wasted investment.
Furthermore, Genus Insight Analysis supports preset schemes. Players can try different attribute combinations using different presets during leveling, and then concentrate resources on optimizing the main preset once the target level is reached.
Summary
Aion 2's pet system is far more than simply collecting pets to use as mounts. From basic soul collection to in-depth attribute development through Genus Insight, the entire system progresses layer by layer, providing players with a wealth of long-term development goals.
The permanent stacking mechanism of Owned Effects encourages players to collect extensively, while Genus Insight's analysis and locking strategies require players to make wise decisions in resource allocation. As you collect more and more pets, you'll find that your character's overall combat power has significantly improved without you even realizing it.
