  Likewise, you will not find yourself trapped in a situation where a monster hits you repeatedly. In melee or high-frequency attack scenarios, 90% Evasion means that damage will occur only after a fixed number of intervals, providing excellent defensive consistency.

  It is worth noting that Entropy System is calculated independently for each attacker. Therefore, when facing multiple monsters, each monster has its own accumulator, meaning you can still be hit by different monsters in succession during actual combat.

  Deflect

  In PoE 2, Deflect applies when Evasion fails and an attack hits, reducing the damage of that attack by a fixed percentage. Unlike Armor, which provides dynamic damage reduction based on the incoming damage value, Deflect has a constant damage reduction ratio, making its defensive benefit extremely consistent.

  If you can raise your Deflect chance to 90% while also reaching more than 50% damage reduction, then even when Evasion is occasionally bypassed, nine out of ten such attacks will deal only half their normal damage.

  This is because when balancing the game, developers assume all players have reached the resistance cap based on this calculation mechanism. To avoid taking massive damage, you must prioritize maxing out your resistances as early as possible.

  Chaos resistance is not a priority

  As mentioned earlier, the key to handling resistances in PoE 2 is to max them out. However, achieving this is tricky; there are many damage types involving resistance mechanics, and maxing out every single one requires a huge investment of time and resources.
