  FC Pro Open is not the only path to World Championship. The new season will also feature three FC Pro Open Cups, where players accumulate Circuit Points through Ladders and Playoffs, ultimately generating 28 World Championship Play-Ins slots.

  In addition, some FC Pro Leagues and Last Chance Qualifiers will also offer qualifying opportunities. Ultimately, 64 players will qualify for Play-Ins to compete for the remaining World Championship spots.

  FC Pro 27 season ends with a 36-player World Championship field. Eight spots are reserved for FC Pro Open qualifiers, while FC Pro Leagues and Play-Ins will determine the rest of the lineup.

  The 36 players will first compete in League Stage, with the top 24 advancing to the knockout stage, and the top 8 directly qualifying for Round of 16. After that, a Single-Elimination format will be used, where losing a single match results in elimination.

  The total prize pool for the entire FC Pro 27 official tournament system is $2.5 million, with World Championship alone offering a $1 million prize pool.

  The most noteworthy aspect of FC Pro 27 isn't just $2.5 million prize pool, but also the fact that ordinary players can still climb their way up to the world championships from Open Ladder.

  Even if they fall short on the main qualification path, Open Cups, LCQ, and Play-Ins offer further opportunities to advance. As long as the entry points remain open, the next player to step onto the world stage may not be a familiar professional player.

  Lengthy Mechanic

  The official team also introduced Lengthy AcceleRATE style, with the goal of giving tall, strong, but relatively cumbersome players an advantage during long-distance sprints, compensating for their slower turning and lower agility. The conditions for triggering Lengthy usually include:

  • Height ≥ 185 cm
  • Physical attributes significantly higher than Dribbling
  • Higher body weight

  These players are typically center forwards or wingers who are around 85 kg and 190 cm tall. Although they can be fast in a straight line, their greater mass and higher center of gravity naturally make them slower when changing direction, stopping suddenly, or turning. This is itself a natural form of physical balance.

  However, the vast majority of female players are only around 165–172 cm tall and weigh approximately 60–65 kg. In EA FC 26, they could still obtain the Lengthy style through the adjusted thresholds introduced by official.

  This means they could simultaneously have the agility and flexibility of smaller players while also benefiting from the extremely high straight-line sprinting speed provided by Lengthy mechanic.

  This combination completely goes against the original design logic behind Lengthy. Female players do not have to deal with the physical drawbacks associated with larger players, yet they can still enjoy the long-distance acceleration benefits.

  These female wide players have therefore become part of the meta because their speed allows them to leave the vast majority of ordinary players completely unable to catch them.

  The Official Response

  In FC 26, the official team previously introduced more specific AcceleRATE variations, including Controlled Lengthy, Mostly Lengthy, Controlled Explosive, and Mostly Explosive. This was actually a relatively reasonable way to fine-tune the system.

  However, without making any announcement or providing an explanation, the official team later removed these subcategories in subsequent updates, leaving only the three basic styles of Lengthy, Explosive, and Controlled.   This does not mean female players should not be strong, but it does affect genuine game balance. If a female player becomes part of the meta, it should be because of player control, tactical combinations, or card rarity, rather than because of a structural flaw in the game mechanics.

  If the official team ignores this issue, it could significantly reduce the viability of male defensive and midfield players, leading to increasingly similar squad choices. Players may have little choice but to use their FUT 27 coins on these players, otherwise their squads could end up with obvious weaknesses.

  Separate Matchmaking

  The official team could easily take inspiration from the existing Cross-play toggle. If players can choose whether they want to match against PC or PlayStation players, why should they not also be able to choose whether they want to participate in mixed-gender matches?

  The official team could add the following options to improve fairness in FC 27:

  • Men's Matches Only
  • Women's Matches Only
  • Mixed Matches

  This kind of setting would better accommodate different player preferences while making the overall gameplay experience more reasonable.

  Strengthening the presence of female players in EA FC 27 is reasonable because it can bring more attention to women's football. However, the game is still highly competitive, so maintaining gameplay balance should remain one of the official team's highest priorities.
