EA SPORTS FC 27 will launch globally on September 25th, while the new FC Pro 27 season will begin even earlier on September 21st from FC Pro Open Ladder.
Ultimate Plus Edition and Ultimate Edition players can access the game from September 18th, meaning those who enter the game early will have almost no adjustment period before facing the competition for professional qualification.
Starting from Open Ladder, players can progress through regional qualifiers, Global Qualifier, and FC Pro Open to reach the world championships; even if they fail to qualify through the main route, Open Cups, FC Pro Leagues, Play-Ins, and LCQ offer further opportunities.
What stands out to me is how FC Pro 27 further strengthens the open qualification pathway, bringing ordinary players one step closer to the professional arena. With sufficient skill, even an ordinary Ultimate Team player can climb the online ladder all the way to the world championships.

About FC Pro
Starts
FC Pro Open Ladder will run from September 21st to October 3rd within EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team, with no additional registration required. Players who have reached Division 5 or higher in Division Rivals are eligible to participate, and the ladder system will be open 24/7.
However, only PlayStation 5 players are eligible to advance to Regional Qualifiers; Xbox Series X|S players will only receive in-game rewards. After the ladder system concludes, 1,376 PS5 players from ten regions will advance to the regional qualifiers, with the top 500 from each region receiving exclusive in-game rewards for FC Pro Open.
1,376 to 52
1,376 players advancing from Open Ladder will participate in FC Pro Open Regional Qualifiers from October 10th to 11th.
The first day of competition will use Swiss Stage, with the top performers advancing to Double-Elimination Bracket on the second day. Ultimately, only 52 players will qualify for Global Qualifier.
From this point onward, I believe the competition truly enters a professional-level phase. Compared to the 13-day ranked ladder, the regional qualifiers offer less room for error, making on-the-spot performance, adaptation to different opponents, and understanding of the current meta more crucial.
Before Regional Qualifiers begin, players can also use FC 27 coins to improve key positions in their Ultimate Team and build a more competitive squad for the current meta.
52 to 16
52 players who qualified through Regional Qualifiers will travel to London from November 5th to 7th, joining 12 invited players to form the 64-player Global Qualifier field.
The competition begins with five rounds of Swiss Stage, with the top 32 advancing to four Double-Elimination Brackets. Ultimately, only 16 players will qualify for FC Pro Open.
FC Pro Draft will also return at this stage, making squad building another important part of the competition. I note that in Global Qualifier, the competition goes beyond mere mechanical skill; understanding the current meta and team composition will directly influence advancement opportunities.

8 World Championship Spots
16 players who advance from Global Qualifier will join 8 invited players to form a 24-player FC Pro Open lineup, divided into four groups for a Double Round-Robin tournament.
The first-place player in each group will directly enter Top 8 and secure a World Championship spot.
The second and third-place players will advance to FC Pro Open Finals.
The fourth-place player will receive an invitation to Global Qualifier for the following season.
Ultimately, FC Pro Open will ultimately award eight World Championship spots.
This is what I find interesting about this format: group rankings themselves have value; even without the championship, a higher ranking will still affect World Championship qualification and the starting point for the next season.
For players preparing for these high-level matches, having enough FIFA 27 coins can also make it easier to strengthen key positions and adjust their Ultimate Team around the competitive meta.
More Paths to World Championship
FC Pro Open is not the only path to World Championship. The new season will also feature three FC Pro Open Cups, where players accumulate Circuit Points through Ladders and Playoffs, ultimately generating 28 World Championship Play-Ins slots.
In addition, some FC Pro Leagues and Last Chance Qualifiers will also offer qualifying opportunities. Ultimately, 64 players will qualify for Play-Ins to compete for the remaining World Championship spots.
For players still chasing qualification through these later stages, having enough FC coins can also make it easier to adjust their squads as the competitive meta changes throughout the season.
I believe the significance of multiple qualifying routes lies in this: a single loss doesn't necessarily end the entire season; even if a player misses FC Pro Open, players who hit their best form later in the season still have a chance to reach World Championship.
36 Players Chase World Title
FC Pro 27 season ends with a 36-player World Championship field. Eight spots are reserved for FC Pro Open qualifiers, while FC Pro Leagues and Play-Ins will determine the rest of the lineup.
The 36 players will first compete in League Stage, with the top 24 advancing to the knockout stage, and the top 8 directly qualifying for Round of 16. After that, a Single-Elimination format will be used, where losing a single match results in elimination.
The total prize pool for the entire FC Pro 27 official tournament system is $2.5 million, with World Championship alone offering a $1 million prize pool.
The most noteworthy aspect of FC Pro 27 isn't just $2.5 million prize pool, but also the fact that ordinary players can still climb their way up to the world championships from Open Ladder.
Even if they fall short on the main qualification path, Open Cups, LCQ, and Play-Ins offer further opportunities to advance. As long as the entry points remain open, the next player to step onto the world stage may not be a familiar professional player.
