EA FC 26 Path to Glory Team 1 Squad Revealed: Don't miss out on the massive World Cup Upgrades!

The 2026 World Cup kicks off in less than a week, but the excitement is already building in the virtual soccer world of FC 26!
Whenever a major soccer tournament takes place, EA FC series rolls out in-game updates to celebrate. The World's Game Update, launched on June 4th this year, is one such example.
Beyond gameplay changes, this update introduces a series of new promos starting June 5th. Released every Friday, with intervals ranging from one to two weeks, these events give you the chance to earn new player items based on the real-time progress of the World Cup.
Here, we introduce the first promo event: Path to Glory. Make sure you grab the players you want before time runs out.

Path to Glory Schedule
The event is split into two teams, each running for one week. The schedule is as follows:
- Team 1: June 5-12, 2026
- Team 2: June 12-19, 2026
Although the event spans two weeks in total, Team 1 player cards are only available during the first week and do not carry over to the second. Be sure to keep an eye on the specific lineups so you don't miss out on your favorite players.
It is worth noting that Path to Glory is just the first installment of Festival of Football World Cup celebration series. Four more promos will follow in succession after it concludes:
- Greats of the Game: June 19-26
- Glory Hunters: June 26 - July 10
- Phenoms: July 10-17
- Summer Stars: July 17-24
Note that the World Cup tournament itself concludes on July 19th, not the 24th, so be careful not to confuse the tournament's end date with Summer Stars event schedule.

How to get these players?
While Path to Glory players have the potential to become very powerful, the methods for obtaining them follow standard promo mechanics: opening packs or trading on the transfer market.
Packs are primarily unlocked by completing SBCs, Objectives, or participating in other events. If the packs from this source don't yield the players you want within the allotted time, you can also consume coins in the in-game store to unlock extra packs.
A quick reminder: while the packs themselves don't expire, you must open them during Path to Glory event period to have a chance at getting these specific players. So, make sure to time it right.
What makes these players so valuable?
Beyond their already impressive base stats, players from both Team 1 and Team 2 will receive additional boosts based on their national team's performance in the upcoming World Cup:
- National team scores 3 goals in the group stage: Card OVR +1
- National team advances to the Round of 32: PlayStyle+ +1
- National team advances to the Quarter-finals: 5/5 upgrade & +1 Alt Position with all Roles++
- National team advances to the Semi-finals: PlayStyle+ +1
- National team advances to the Final: Card OVR +1
- National team wins the Final: Card upgrades to 99 OVR and gains Icon Chemistry
This event not only commemorates the 2026 World Cup but could also land you an incredibly powerful card, ensuring a smoother FC 26 gameplay experience in the months ahead. Of course, that depends on the team your player represents performing well!
While the game applies these upgrades in real-time based on match results, you can check the schedule below (all times in Pacific Time) to stay up to date:
- Group Stage: June 11-27
- Round of 32: June 28 - July 3
