Patch 1.12 Addresses Map Glitches in ARC Raiders | Player Patience Tested by Slow Updates!

ARC Raiders released Patch 1.12.0 on January 20th, primarily focusing on bug fixes. While the official team remained efficient, players were generally dissatisfied with this update.
The main reason for dissatisfaction was the lack of content, especially since Cold Snap event ended and the official update plan for the next phase was delayed, causing some players to feel impatient.

Controversy And Background of Patch 1.12
Patch 1.12.0 did include some important fixes, particularly addressing critical bugs. For example, it resolved the unfair issue of players exploiting bugs to duplicate items and safely kill players inside the map from outside the boundaries.
The development team's solution was quite ingenious; instead of directly removing the bugs, they implemented restrictive measures, similar to their previous handling of Lock Rooms bug. Now, in certain areas of maps like Stella Montis, if a player glitches out of the map and attempts to shoot another player inside, bullets will no longer penetrate walls.
This is a decent fix, though not perfect. Players can still glitch out of the map, and the issue isn't completely resolved on maps with significant problems, such as Dam Battlegrounds. New methods of glitching are likely to emerge in the future, but the team is working to address it.
Last week's patch 1.10 also included some balance adjustments, such as reducing the potential of maximizing Kettle's rate of fire via macros and finally fixing the overly powerful Trigger 'Nade.
Currently, the development team's approach seems like a quick band-aid fix. Clearly, completely resolving the issue of glitching out of the map is more complex and requires time. Therefore, they implemented the immediate solution of preventing shooting through walls.
Why Are Some People Disappointed?
Since the update addresses some important issues, why are some players still disappointed? On one hand, the developers promised to nerf Stitcher, but this update failed to deliver. On the other hand, the player community's over-reliance on data mining information has led to unrealistic expectations.
Previously, data mining revealed a new map condition called Toxic Swamp in the game files, leading many to speculate that it would be released this Tuesday. While this anticipation is understandable, treating data mining information as an official promise is unwise.
The development team has clearly stated that they will accelerate the pace of content updates after the game's official release and stabilization. In fact, the official update speed is quite fast; in November, they brought a new map, community unlock content, a new ARC unit, and accompanying items and quests. In December, they updated Cold Snap map condition, impacting both trials and PvP.
Based on this pace, many players expected a similar content update in January. Coupled with the developers having discussed many exciting future plans, and everyone waiting for a new roadmap to understand the specific content and timing, this feeling of waiting was particularly pronounced at the end of January, causing anxiety among some players.
Do Not Rely on Data Mining
While data mining information can attract player attention and excitement, information not officially confirmed is inaccurate. Toxic Swamp may indeed exist and be coming soon, but the release method and timing are entirely up to the official decision. Little is currently known about Toxic Swamp. It's likely a new map state, logically corresponding to swamp terrain, with the large swampy area in the northwest of Dam Battlegrounds map being a possible location.
Its mechanics will likely be similar to the Snowfall state, where survival within the swamp will be challenging. New items or consumables like gas masks to combat toxicity might be introduced, and new natural or ARC threats, along with related items, could be introduced, allowing players to collect toxic substances to combat ARC or other players.
Known Updates And Future Plans
Since we're not relying on data mining, we should focus on official announcements. While the official 2026 roadmap hasn't been released yet, they recently revealed update plans and addressed player expectations in a media interview.
ARC Variants
To address players' increasing proficiency with existing ARC threats, the developers plan to introduce ARC variants with different abilities to increase difficulty and fun. For example, a Bastion might be equipped with a grenade launcher or rocket launcher, and have different movement patterns or weakness settings.
New Maps
The official announcement states that several maps will be released this year, with the volcano map currently confirmed to be under development. Players have high expectations for it. Furthermore, the developers also mentioned plans to create a walkable Speranza for player interaction. Players hope the quick shop access function in the menu won't be removed for this.
Combat System
The developers acknowledge that the current skill tree has issues in some aspects, with some skills even they themselves don't use. Therefore, a rebalancing is planned. They also intend to introduce a more convenient equipment configuration system to simplify the battle preparation process.
Balance Adjustments
In addition to the promised nerfs to Stitcher, they are considering careful adjustments to weapons of different rarities. One approach is to adjust weapon rarity, for example, downgrading an epic weapon to rare, thereby reducing its crafting and upgrade costs as a balancing measure.
Second Expedition Plan
The developers have expressed regret over the format of the first expedition, as its resulting gameplay clearly deviated from the core fun of the game. They promised future expeditions would be designed differently, ensuring the rewards remain attractive, but with more engaging gameplay.
Overall, players who have already fully experienced the game's content should perhaps consider taking a break or accepting that the actual update pace may be slower than expected. You can still look forward to the future of ARC Raiders. Once these updates are on track, the game experience will undoubtedly be even better.
