ARC Raiders Stella Montis Loot Guide: Best Map for High-Risk & High-Reward Farming

Currently, ARC Raiders features five main playable maps: Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate, and Stella Montis. These maps offer diverse PvE/PvP environments and provide players with valuable resources to fight against ARC forces and continuously build their bases.
Each player prefers different maps for farming depending on their playstyle and how much they prioritize loot. Dam Battlegrounds is a vast swamp and lakeside area; Buried City, as the name suggests, is a completely buried city; while Spaceport and Blue Gate boast breathtaking remnants of humanity's past grandeur.
The latest map, Stella Montis, is different from all of these, as it's a purely indoor map consisting of a series of underground tunnels and facilities.
Perhaps because of the confusing and oppressive nature of the map itself, or the surprisingly high probability of encountering PvP battles due to its narrow corridors and enclosed rooms, Stella Montis is rarely the first choice for new players looking to scavenge resources.
However, many players overlook the extremely high loot potential of Stella Montis map because of its high-risk PvP elements. Especially after completing an Expedition and resetting your progress, effectively farming Stella Montis can definitely help you recover your gear quickly. If you're still not convinced, then take a look at this guide, and you'll believe us.

Why is Stella Montis worth looting?
We say this because Stella Montis is designed with a high-risk, high-reward philosophy. This is easy to understand; you can see it in the extremely dense distribution of loot on the map, as well as the map's size and the probability of encountering other raiders.
In most cases, if you encounter other players, a PvP battle is almost inevitable, especially if you're playing in a team.
All of this is reasonable because ARC Raiders needs a serious gear depletion mechanism, giving you the chance to lose all your equipment. If you're unfamiliar with extraction shooters, you need to know that this is a crucial part of this genre.
Otherwise, as the game progresses, everyone would have a massive amount of loot with nowhere to use it because they would never lose their equipment. Therefore, the key loop in extraction shooters revolves around losing loot and then collecting it again.
This is precisely why Stella Montis is an excellent map, allowing you to find almost any ARC Raiders item you want. Once you start exploring this map and become familiar with it, you'll find that it has almost everything you need, whether it's medical supplies, industrial supplies, or everyday items.
It's worth noting that, perhaps because of the underground tunnel theme, this map is very small, much smaller than you might expect. This means you can often reach any point on the map in less than a minute.
So, if you plan to scavenge for specific resources, such as needing medical supplies to craft more bandages, and you go to Medical area in Stella Montis, but unfortunately it's already been looted, that's okay, because in most cases, you should be able to find those resources in other areas within a few minutes to fill your backpack and extract.
And because the resources in Stella Montis are so abundant, it doesn't matter when you spawn. Be aware that the high, medium, and low-tier resource location markers on the map are completely misleading. The entire map is full of abundant resources, and these are high-value resources, meaning it's not like other maps where if you spawn late, your chances of getting anything decent are slim. You almost won't encounter this problem in Stella Montis.
How to reduce risk?
I know many people will say: Why do I get shot every time I travel to Stella Montis? The resources I painstakingly collected are often looted halfway through!
I must reiterate the biggest characteristic of this map: high risk, high reward. If you want to safely extract with your loot, here are some tips worth considering.
Play solo and without any equipment
First, don't go in a team, go solo. Because if you team up, there's a very high probability of encountering a gunfight, which is something that happens on any map when playing in a team.
Remember, go in solo, and don't bring anything, including your shield, weapons, and all other equipment, because this will give you a Safe Pocket. Just go in, pick up whatever you can, and even if you get shot, so what? You haven't lost anything. If you're lucky enough to find some ARC Raiders blueprints, put them in your Safe Pocket, and even if you die unexpectedly, your loot won't be lost.
Adjusting Matchmaking Mechanism
If you usually enjoy PVP, you might find yourself consistently matched into rooms with more PVP players for a period of time. However, if you get killed many times without retaliating, you'll notice a change in the player pool you're matched with. Simply put, you'll encounter more friendly players. The developers have basically confirmed the existence of a behavior-based matchmaking mechanism, and many people have tested it.
So, after doing this a few times and starting to encounter more friendly players, equip a basic Looting Mk. 2, a basic shield, and some random low-level weapons, as this will allow you to carry more loot.
Carrying a Raider Hatch Key
Raider Hatch Key is almost a must-have item for every raider when making a safe extraction. It helps you open secret, faster, and quieter emergency escape hatches, allowing for safer extraction and avoiding the noisy public elevators that are easily ambushed by other players, especially when you're carrying valuable loot you don't want to lose.
However, these keys are consumable and single-use, so don't forget to bring one when exploring Stella Montis map to provide a tactical advantage when standard extraction methods are too risky.

In short, Stella Montis map is fantastic! Whether you're specifically planning to do other things on this map, just playing for fun in PvP, or farming for gear and blueprints, spending time here is worthwhile.
Don't be afraid of dying, don't be afraid of losing some things, because ultimately you'll successfully extract far more often than you fail, and you'll acquire so much loot you won't know what to do with it all. Good luck!
