  • WOW Classic SOD: 6 Issues That Desperately Need Change In Phase 2

    Posted: Feb 29, 2024

WOW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2 has begun for a few weeks. For many adventurers, reaching level 40 is quite a journey. We need to get runes, participate in Blood Moon Event, and even Gnomeregan.

Personally, I had a really great time at Season of Discovery. But unfortunately, the new phase also has some flaws that deserve improvement.

Here, I would like to talk about the six problems we currently encounter in Season of Discovery Phase 2. Because even if people don’t really say it publicly, many people are complaining quietly. If we can all offer some solutions, maybe we can solve some of these problems before they become enormous problems!

    New Player Experience

First, let’s start talking about new player experience. What should new players do first? What runes should they get? What activities should they focus on in the game?

For one thing, there’s really no clear path to what to do first. Maybe that’s a good thing, because then you can do almost anything you want. On the other hand, you might worry about missing out on various aspects of the game being promoted and discussed.

Therefore, my initial hope for SOD Phase 2 is that the leveling system will finally allow new players to join and catch up at an easy pace, without pressure, and ensure that some players have a wonderful experience with the game. Luckily, there are actually some big changes happening right now with leveling up, with there now being a 100% XP bonus all the way up to level 39.

    Class Balance

We’ve talked about the new player experience, let’s talk about classes.

Almost no one wants Rogues anymore at the moment, as many players have expressed how difficult it is to obtain raid locations as a Rogue. This also reflects the current status of classes in SOD Phase 2. One week your class might be super popular, and then suddenly you can’t even pay people to find raid locations.

    Rune Balance

Admittedly, Rune is still one of the most interesting abilities in the entire game. But by the end of the game, I expect to have a full skill bar of four runic abilities weighing on my rotation, which is just too much.

The game started out balanced, but as later expansions kept stacking more and more abilities, at some point, the game became completely unbalanced and completely different from the original vision.

    Arathi Basin

Is Arathi Basin still worth doing now? Many players believe that if you do anything other than Blood Moon Event to gain your reputation and honor, you’re wasting your time.

And there’s no real reason to do Arathi Basin alone, unless you’re really looking for some way to level up your character between Blood Moon.

But for me, I kind of like the intense battle atmosphere, and felt like this phase didn’t fully explore PVP outside of Blood Moon.

    Lag & Layering

Speaking of Blood Moon, we must discuss the issue of lag and layering.

Overall, the problem is that the developers have crafted a very interesting event in Blood Moon. But as more players reach level 40, events become increasingly lag and worse during peak hours, with delays between actions often four seconds or more. This feels completely unacceptable in a modern game.

Then we also have the layering issue, where you go to Blood Moon and half your team ends up on a different layer. You can never play together, which is the exact reason your team gives up and does something else, ultimately it all comes down to the layering system.

    Economic Issues

In Phase 2, you must obtain 100 WOW Classic SOD Gold to obtain the mount. You then have to get full Pre-BiS in many cases, which requires crafted gear, and you also have to get consumables for raiding.

Those groups that wipe more often end up burning more money. But the problem is that after level 40, gold production doesn’t magically quadruple in missions, and profits don’t increase significantly.

Although the developers have added more gold coins to the game, such as Epic Helm quest line. Of course, you need to buy all these extra recipes from the supplier as well. As a result, the economy now feels a bit broken.

A big attraction in this mode should be equipping your character and really enjoying the endgame PVP feel. And farming gold is not an endgame that most players want to play, unless you’re a Scrooge.

    Outro

Overall, the developers really put a lot of effort into Season of Discovery and tried to recreate RuneScape style feel. Despite its minor flaws, if we complained enough in many cases, anything in the game could change, at least for the long-term health of the game, and the developers know better than we do.

Here are my top six concerns about SOD Phase 2. I’d also like to hear your thoughts. I look forward to Season of Discovery getting better and better.

  • WOW Classic SOD: A Step-By-Step Guide To Get This Cozy Sleeping Bag In Phase 2!

    Posted: Feb 17, 2024

With the launch of Phase 2, a lot has changed in Season of Discovery. Besides new Runes, Raids, Weapons, and Gear, Phase 2 also introduces a new item, Cozy Sleeping Bag, which increases your XP gain by a small amount.

The sooner you get Cozy Sleeping Bag in SoD, the more valuable XP boost you get. But some areas this questline will take you through can be tricky for lower-level players.

This questline is well worth completing as soon as possible, not only because of what Cozy Sleeping Bag does, but also because of the other rewards you can earn along the way. Here, I will detail the step-by-step guide to get this Cozy Sleeping Bag in Phase 2.

What Does Cozy Sleeping Bag Do?

Cozy Sleeping Bag is a permanently reusable item in SoD, but has a cooldown of nearly 3 hours. When used, your character summons a Sleeping Bag at the feet of the game world. When you step onto Sleeping Bag, your character will automatically fall asleep after a second or two.

If you stay in Sleeping Bag for one minute, you’ll gain Well-Rested buff. This increases XP you earn by 1%.

This effect stacks up to three times, giving you a total of 3% bonus XP after three minutes of rest. The buff lasts for two hours and starts counting down when you leave Cozy Sleeping Bag.

While this isn’t a huge XP boost, it’s better than nothing. Also, if your party or raid members don’t have their own Cozy Sleeping Bag, they can still get this buff by walking onto any other party member’s Sleeping Bag.

    Questline Rewards

It’s worth noting that Cozy Sleeping Bag Questline has many other bonuses.

First, each of the tasks in this series will award a flat amount of XP, so the earlier you start, the more you can earn.

Each step of the quest chain also provides WOW Classic SOD Gold and material rewards. Includes some decent potions, materials, weapons, a 12-slot bag, quality ammo suitable for the character going into Phase 2, and something called a Student Fodder.

Student Fodder is a new item that is consumed when used. In the process of this quest line, you will get eight Student Fodders to help you level up quickly. It gives you about 20% of your Rested XP bar, which will increase XP you get from killing mobs by 100%.

It’s important to note that the later you use Student Fodder, the more useful it becomes. Because generally leveling up after level 30 takes longer than early leveling, but Rested XP bar buff you get remains the same.

How To Get A Cozy Sleeping Bag?

Alliance and Horde players will start Cozy Sleeping Bag quest in different locations, but will eventually converge on the same quest line.

    Start Locations

For Alliance players, head to Alexton Farmstead in Westfall and find Charred Remains in its northwest corner.

For Horde players, you’ll need to head to Barrens, then south of Camp Taurajo, and interact with Charred Remains.

Alliance and Horde players will need to complete the other factions’ starting quest.

    Heading To Stonetalon Mountains

After this first step, both factions will visit the same locations from now on.

For Alliance players, you will need to head to Stonetalon Mountains. Although the area itself isn’t particularly challenging, there are Horde guards on the northwest border of Barrens.

Horde players can easily access Stonetalon Mountains without too much worry unless you are on a PVP server.

Anyway, head north along the main road in Stonetalon Mountains until you reach above Sun Rock Retreat on the world map. Looking to the southwest, you can see an alternative path leading to the mountains. Follow the trail for a few minutes until you find another camp and note.

Then head northwest and to the edge of the cliff where you can look for a small mound of dirt on the hillside. Carefully climb Cliffside to reach the mound and interact with it to get the last note of Cozy Sleeping Bag quest.

    Find Stonewrought Dam

Next, comes the most hard part for Horde players. Because not only does it require entering enemy territory, it also requires them to travel to one of the most heavily fortified areas in the region.

Alliance players simply head to the center of Loch Modan and Stonewrought Dam to find a new platform on a ledge with a telescope and a makeshift camp. Jump over Dam’s ledge and interact with the note here to continue the mission.

Horde players should do whatever they can to find their way to Loch Modan. Once you’ve passed through Dun Algaz from Wetlands and crossed the border, head east to Dam. There are a lot of guards and other players here, so be prepared to run if you can’t easily avoid them.

Head to the center of Dam and jump from the north side to the new ledge, interact with the note here to continue.

    Jump On Thoradin’s Wall

For Alliance and Horde players, this last step in the quest chain isn’t particularly bad.

Players need to travel to Arathi Highlands or Hillsbrad Foothills to reach the center of Thoradin’s Wall. Then, head north until you see an enormous gap in the wall with a cart next to it.

You need to jump into the middle of the car and then follow the sloping side of the car to the top of the wall. Then turn south and prepare to jump up the wall to reach the end of the wall.

This is where you get your Sleeping Bag. Enter the tower, look to the right, interact with the bag here, and find that all the notes have been used up. You can then pick up your Cozy Sleeping Bag below the mission submission and don’t forget to use it as much as you can!

  • WOW Classic SOD: The Best Leveling Tips For Phase 2!

    Posted: Feb 16, 2024

Whether you’re doing dungeons or quests, leveling will never be boring. Here I will explain the best leveling tips for WOW Classic SOD Phase 2.

If you level up quickly, you can maximize your raid lockouts. You can also take part in STV events and dominate at level 40. Of course, this also means you’ll be able to earn more WOW Classic SOD Gold than anyone else in the game.

In this guide, we’ll discuss everything from buffs and consumables to runes and everything you need to level up as quickly as possible.

    World Buffs

For buffs, regardless of your level, you’ll need Boon of Blackfathom.

What I like about Boon of Blackfathom is the increase in spell hit chance, which really helps when you’re fighting higher level enemies. Another substantial reason is that it increases your movement speed by 20%, which can really help with your missions.

Another buff you definitely want is a Spark of Inspiration. You can get this buff in Оrgrіmmаr or Ironforge. This is an insane buff, especially for a caster who gets a 4% increase in critical strike chance and a 42% increase in spell damage.

Besides these two World Buffs, you can’t forget Darkmoon Faire buff, which increases damage by 10% for 2 hours, which is a huge leveling speed increase.

    Consumables

In addition, there are many new consumables here to help you level up faster. For example, there is Lesser Wizard Oil that everyone forgets about. For this Wizard Oil, the 16 spell damage buff lasts for death, which is a tremendous boost to kill speed.

We also have new potions, such as Lesser Arcane Elixir. The last consumable to discuss is Enchant Boots’ 8% Minor Speed. This is expensive now, but I highly recommend getting your best pair of boots on top of these buffs.

    Get XP Buff

For XP Buffs, the biggest priority you can get is Cozy Sleeping Bag quest line, but this quest only took me about 30 minutes.

As a reward, you’ll receive a Sleeping Bag, giving you up to 3% XP bonus.

You’ll also get eight foods that will give you four Rested XP bars. This is added to your XP bar while you’re offline, which increases XP you gain from killing mobs until the bar is depleted. I recommend saving these foods until level 38 to maximize Rested XP earned.

    New Runes

In order to get the maximum leveling speed, the next thing you need to do is pick the best runes.

As a Priest, he has always been known for his healing abilities, and this is no exception in Season of Discovery. If you are playing Healer Priest, you could choose Empowered Renew Rune.

As the name suggests, Empowered Renew enhances your Renew spell. This is the belt engravement, and after using it, the spell will be restored immediately for an additional time.

Also, whenever it heals from your additional healing, it gains an additional 15% bonus. Best of all, Empowered Renew works on targets affected by another Priest’s Renew. This makes it a must-have rune for endgame content.

You can learn Empowered Renew by using Prophecy of the Quickened Path. This is an item that’s actually pretty easy to get early in Phase 2.

To get Prophecy of the Quickened Path, head to Thousand Needles or Alterac Mountains. These areas are inhabited by Grimtotem Tribe and Crushridge Ogres, respectively. Non-elite creatures of every faction drop Prophecy of the Quickened Path, and it doesn’t take long to get it.

Monster levels in Grimtotem Tribe range from level 26 to 30, while Crushridge Ogres are usually around level 34. Therefore, if you are at the beginning of SOD Phase 2, we recommend heading to Thousand Needles first.

    Maximize Your Leveling Speed

At this point, we have our buffs, consumables, and runes, and we have to decide how to maximize our leveling speed. According to my experience, using a really good route to complete tasks will make our leveling process twice the result with half the effort.

We chose dungeons as our primary leveling method, with the biggest issue being PVP ganks. Therefore, we prioritize running RFK until level 29.

Then after level 29 we started spamming Scarlet Monastery after hit. Around level 31, we alternate between Scarlet Monastery and SM Library.

Around level 34 to 35, we also started attacking Armory and removed Graveyard from our rotation. Then, to end our rotation, we alternate runs between Armory and Cathedral to get to 40.

Although this is somewhat contrary to the spirit of Season of Discovery, it is indeed very useful for leveling up.

With the new 50% XP bonus, leveling is much faster and you can actually get into RFK at level 8, or even into Stockade at level 15. Of course, Sleeping Bag can also be used in conjunction with your boost to speed up leveling.

I don’t want to spoil your Phase 2 leveling experience, but have to say, this will be a powerful option for your alt leveling.

Regardless, the tips and tricks shared in this guide are designed to help you progress quickly, ensuring that your adventures in WOW Classic SOD are not only memorable but also filled with the thrill of rapid progress!

  • WOW Classic SOD: What Consumables Do You Need For Your Phase 2 Gnomeregan Raid?

    Posted: Feb 04, 2024

Season of Discovery Phase 2 is launching in a few days, and it’s time for us to discuss what consumables you should be stocking up on now to be ready for Phase 2 and dominate Gnomeregan from day one.

So we’re going to review all the consumables. We’ll start with the best buffs consumes and then move into the best AOE consumes. Of course, Engineering will play a very important role in this part.

We’ll also cover all the new Enchants and Buffs announced by the developers that you can’t miss. Also, we’ll cover the best Trinkets and Gear, which can provide powerful buffs on their own.

    Popular Consumes

Let’s get into popular consumes first. We’ll start with Mana Potion and Healing Potion.

The best mana potion you can use will be Greater Mana Potion. These will be much cheaper than Phase 1 Mana Potions. You can craft them with Khadgar’s Whisker instead of buying them from camping vendors. Khadgar’s Whisker can be found in all upgraded areas.

We also can’t forget about Superior Healing Potions. These will be much more expensive since the crafting material Sungrass is mainly found in high-level areas. Of course, there are some good vendor camp spots here too.

Phase 2 will also add a potion that may be exclusive to Alchemy. This will be Mildly Irradiated Rejuvenation Potion, which will give you an average of 400 health and 350 mana. But it also gives you 40 AP and 35 Spell Damage every 2 minutes for 15 seconds.

The developers stated that this will be an Alchemy-specific potion so that Alchemy can be more competitive in DPS metrics instead of being forced to become Engineering. But since it’s still up in the air, we also have to discuss Phase 2’s BiS Buff Consumes.

    BiS Buff Consumes

Now, for most spellcasters, Sagefish Delight will be the best buff food. The best thing about it is that you get 6 MP5 from the fish. While these are very easy to fish, especially in places like Alterac Mountains, the best stats would be 12 Stamina and 12 Spirit.

There are five different food options to choose from, including Heavy Kodo Stew, Spider Sausage, Monster Omelet, Tender Wolf Steak and Spiced Chili Crab.

The easiest of these to farm and probably the cheapest is Spider Sausage. These materials are all farmable at around level 36. About 30% of the time, they drop White Spider Meat.

Another relatively simple option is Heavy Kodo Stew. But I’ve found that it’s much less popular than other recipes because the creatures it requires to be farmed are usually level 40 or higher.

    Damage Amplifiers Consumes

We also have Damage Amplifiers Consumes. For physical DPS, Scroll of Strength III will give you the most power. It gives you 13 points of strength and covers the cheaper Elixir of Ogre’s Strength. Unlike the previous Scroll, Elixir of Ogre’s Strength only provides 8 points of strength.

It’s really difficult to get these things from vendors or mobs. Because they primarily drop from high-level enemies, the best way to get Scroll of Strength III is probably from a repeatable Water Pouch Bounty Quest. This quest has a high chance of rewarding many scrolls.

You’ll definitely want to use Elixir of Agility as well, which does give you 15 points of Agility, so you won’t need any Scroll of Agility at this stage.

    Warrior Only Consume

We also can’t forget the only consumable a Warrior needs, Great Rage Potion, which generates approximately 45 Rage points peruse on a 2-minute cooldown. This is probably one of the most expensive consumables in the game.

Meanwhile, all melees will be excited about Dragonbreath Chili. This is a 10-minute buff that has a 4% chance of dealing AOE damage to enemies with Cone of Cold. It only triggers melee attacks, and the faster your weapon is, the higher DPS.

This consumable and a few other Small Flame Sacs would make a great WOW Classic SOD Gold farm for caster classes.

    Brand New Potions

There’s also a new potion here called Lesser Arcane Elixir. It is said to increase your spell damage by 14 points for 30 minutes. But we’re not 100% sure if it will be in the game.

Also, the already popular Elixir of Firepower will be making a comeback. As a healer, I will also be bringing the new Scroll of Spirit III. Although it will be very expensive, it will increase your Spirit by 11 points.

    New Enchanting Buff

Before we go any further, we need to talk about the new Enchanting Buff effects coming to Phase 2.

Enchanter will have a new buff for both spellcasters and physical DPS, and this new buff is called Enchanted Sigil. It increases damage and healing by 20, as well as increasing attack power by 20. This is a 30 minute buff and 30 minute cooldown. So it’s basically a World Buff that you lose if you die.

    AOE Consumables

Now let’s get into AOE consumables. Oil of Immolation will be a new consumable you can run throughout Gnomeregan. It does 50 AOE damage every 3 seconds, but is very costly.

We still need to talk about Engineering, but there will be a lot of Specialization changes. Specialization will eventually enter Phase 3, which means no Goblin Mortar and probably no Goblin Sapper Charge, but Engineering will still be powerful.

There are two main options for using explosives on Trash Pack. The first is Solid Dynamite, which deals with 250 AOE damage after a 1 minute cooldown. Another new High-Yield Radiation Bomb that deals 200 damage plus 125 Nature damage over time.

For Non-Engineers, you have two options. You either go for Ez-Thro Dynamite II, which does about 250 damage, but has a chance of exploding in your face. Or the new Ez-Thro Radiation Bomb, which deals 150 flat damage plus 50 nature damage over 10 seconds.

There is also a long range explosive. The one I’m most looking forward to is Goblin Land Mine, which does 450 damage. It’s also great for boss fights. While this isn’t technically an AOE damage multiplier, high-level targets will be ridiculously overpowered. It is very useful for large Trash Pack as it has over 3,000 health.

    Defensive Consumables

Let’s move on to defensive consumables. First are Fire Protection Potions, which are just like Shadow Protection Potions in BFD. You’ll most likely be using Fire Protection Potion throughout Gnomeregan raid.

We also have Nature Protection Potion. We can’t guarantee nature damage in raids, but many new items have nature resistance. You can stock up on some Liferoot for these Nature Protection Potions ahead of time.

As always, we have more buffs to roll, like Elixir of Fortitude, which grants 120 health. There’s also Rumsey Rum Black Label, which gives you another 100 health points, and its price is going up.

    World Buffs

While we have to talk about all World Buffs, two key World Buffs, Boon of Blackfathom and Warsong Battle Drum, will not work after level 39. However, Darkmoon Faire buff will continue to work and can provide a 10% damage buff.

There’s also a new buff called Spark of Inspiration. It increases critical strike chance and increases attack speed for 2 hours. We don’t have full details yet, but it’s likely to work similarly to BFD buff. In particular, it doesn’t increase movement speed, so you’d better get your mount.

See More: What Are The Most Recommended Consumables For WOW Season Of Discovery Phase 3?

    Enchants And Buffs

Finally, let’s look at Enchants and Buffs.

There are at least two new Enchants coming in Phase 2. Retricutioner is a new tank enchantment that reflects 9 points of damage back. Dismantle gives you extra damage from mechanical creatures against physical attacks and spells.

Of course, we also have a bunch of new Buffs to choose from in Phase 2, the most noteworthy of which is Minor Speed buff, and of course the 8% extra movement speed.

More controversial is Sniper Scope, which will only be made by Gnomes. Or, if you can’t find Gnome friends, there’s Deadly Scope.

Of course, we also have new Stones such as Solid Sharpening Stone and Solid Weightstone. But as a spellcaster, I’m even more excited that the new Lesser Wizard Oil increases my spell damage by 16 points. Of course, Phase 2 will also introduce Shadow Oil and Frost Oil.

Regardless, being prepared for Gnomeregan will greatly enhance your raiding enjoyment. If you have the right buffs and consumables, you’ll be able to challenge anything throughout Gnomeregan raid!

  • WOW Classic SOD: 7 Quests You Should Prioritize In Phase 2!

    Posted: Jan 26, 2024

Here, I want to give you a short list of tasks to help you earn some sweet rewards in Season of Discovery Phase 2!

This list is in no particular order. It’s the quests that I think are worthwhile, as well as some that you may have accidentally missed while leveling up. These quests may be useful for you as you level up or reach the maximum level in Phase 2.

I decided not to include dungeon quests in this list because I don’t think they are necessary and the information for these quests is easier to grasp. I decided to focus more on quests that might otherwise be missed or lost in the pool of world quests that Phase 2 offers.

    1. Rescue OOX-22/FE Quest

Now let’s take a look at the list, starting with Rescue OOX-22/FE Quest. This is an escort quest that starts in Feralas and ends in Stranglethorn Vale.

This is a tough quest and you can start this quest at level 40. However, the recommended level is level 45, so I definitely recommend teaming up for this quest.

You can choose from one of two rewards for this quest. One is Cloak with +3 Intelligence, 10 Spirit, Chainlink Towel. The other is a Leather Shoulder with +10 Strength and 10 Agility, Failed Flying Experiment. This is huge for Feral and Rogue and the main reason we chose it.

    2. Big Game Hunter

The next quest on our list is Big Game Hunter in Stranglethorn Vale. Big Game Hunter Quest is the ultimate quest in Stranglethorn Vale’s never-ending Killing Spring series. You can start taking on this quest as early as level 28, but the recommended level is level 41.

There are two ranged weapons you can get from this quest: a bow and a gun. Both are very similar. The only difference is that the speed of the bow is 2.4 and the speed of the gun is 2.6. If you were very unlucky in Phase 1 and didn’t get a ranged weapon drop, these might make up for it at least a little.

    3. Panther Mastery

Our next quest is directly related to the previous mission, as you need to complete this mission to get Big Game Hunter, which is Panther Mastery.

This quest is available at level 28, but the recommended level is 38. Completing this quest will give you a nice pair of pants, Panther Hunter Leggings.

    4. Mazen’s Behest

The next mission is an Alliance-exclusive mission, which is Mazen’s Behest. This quest has become a little infamous for having so many adds. You can get this quest at level 37, but level 39 is the recommended level for this quest.

You can choose one of the two rewards. One is Cloth Armor with +1 stamina and 12 intelligence, Teacher’s Sash. The other is the +5 Strength and 10 Agility boots, Wanderlust Boots.

    5. Deliver To MacKinley

Next up is the mission on Tanaris, Deliver to MacKinley. This quest can be completed at level 40 and will give you some pretty decent loot and a generous amount of WOW Classic SOD Gold.

You can choose one of the two rewards. One is Cloth Armor with +10 Strength and 9 Stamina, Swashbuckler Sash, which might be good for a Warlock Tank. There is also a powerful pair of Plate Boots, Shinkicker Boots, which give you +10 Strength and 9 Agility, which is huge for DPS Warriors.

    6. Murdaloc

Now we have another Alliance exclusive mission. If you’ve played Season of Mastery, many of you may know about this quest, and that’s Murdaloc. This is a quest in Badlands. You can start this quest as early as level 30, but the recommended level is level 40.

However, if you find a group of people to help you early on, you can gain access to a powerful weapon, Rock Pulverizer. It has high top damage, slow swing speed, and a whopping 34 attack power. This is definitely the best weapon choice for Alliance players.

    7. Death From Below

For our last quest, we have Death from Below in Arathi Highlands. You can easily complete this solo at level 35, which is exceptional.

The reward for completing this mission is that you get to choose one of two rings. One is Coldwater Ring with +3 Intelligence and 9 Spirit. But what we want is the old Seafire Band, a Ring that provides 2 points of Strength, 2 points of Agility, and a whopping 10 points of Stamina.

These are some of the quest I think you should aim for in Season of Discovery Phase 2. These missions will bring you generous rewards and help you have an advantage over other players in the early stages of Phase 2!
