Dune Awakening Server Migrations on May 26: Don't Lose Your Base! A Guide to 100% Asset Backup & Free Transfers

    Posted: May 20, 2026Views: 237

With the official launch of Dune: Awakening The Water Wars DLC, the developers have finally unveiled the long-awaited server migration and consolidation plan. To make room for the brand-new 1.4 update and DLC, and to optimize the overall server ecosystem, the developers will be shutting down and consolidating underperforming servers.

Whether you are a veteran player returning to Arrakis or a steadfast survivor who has remained since the beginning, this major server reshuffle directly affects the survival of all your assets and your base. Below, drawing upon the latest information and practical migration experiences, we present the most comprehensive preparation guide available to ensure your base remains exactly as you left it.

Dune Awakening Server Migrations on May 26: Don't Lose Your Base! A Guide to 100% Asset Backup & Free Transfers

    Migration Schedule and Affected Servers

First, please note that all affected Dune: Awakening servers will officially shut down on May 26. However, not every player needs to take action regarding this server migration.

The developers have explicitly stated via Twitter that worlds scheduled for closure have been clearly marked within the game client. The servers affected by this process span multiple major regions, including Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America. If your current server does not appear on the shutdown list, no action is required on your part; simply sit back and prepare to welcome your new neighbors!

To compensate players who are compelled to migrate, the developers are offering a special Free Migration benefit: starting with version 1.3.20.0, players migrating away from a world scheduled for closure will not consume any Transfer Tokens to do so.

We strongly recommend that all affected players perform a manual migration as soon as possible, rather than waiting for the system to process it automatically. The sooner you act, the faster you can secure a prime location for your base on the potentially crowded destination servers! Time waits for no one!

    How does migration work?

Depending on the status of your current server, the migration process generally falls into one of the following three scenarios:

    Server Safe: Rest Easy

If your primary server is not listed on the shutdown list, you do not need to make any preparations. Your gaming experience will not be interrupted in any way; simply continue playing as usual.

    Migration Between Official Servers

When players from an affected world access Server Browser, the system will prompt them to select a new destination world. You will be able to back up and reconstruct your Dune Awakening Solari, resources, base, and vehicles using a dedicated tool provided by the developers. If you haven't acquired the necessary tools yet, head over to Claim Rewards menu to pick them up!

Migrating to a Private or Self-Hosted Server

If you've grown weary of the conflicts and strife on official servers, you have the option to migrate your character to a private server. However, please take note: this is a one-way street. Simply put, once you transfer your character to a private server, you will never be able to transfer them back to any official public world again.

How to Package Your Assets before Migration?

To ensure that not a single brick or beam is lost during your journey across worlds, players must personally package their items while still on their original server.

    Claiming Your Migration Tools

First, upon entering Dune Awakening, press ESC key on your keyboard to open Claim Rewards menu. Here, all affected players can claim two crucial items completely free of charge: Base Reconstruction Tool and Vehicle Backup Tool.

    Dismantling and Backing up Vehicles

Transferring your vehicles in their entirety can be tricky; since Vehicle Backup Tool has limited storage slots, we recommend prioritizing rare vehicles, such as Scout Ornithopter, for storage within it. More importantly, any vehicle stored in this tool will perfectly retain the fuel currently in its tank, allowing you to seamlessly resume your exploration of the new world.

What about the vehicles that don't fit into the tool? Instead of simply abandoning them, you can manually dismantle them into their component parts and store them inside your base's storage containers.

It is worth noting that vehicles dismantled in this manner will have their fuel tanks emptied upon reassembly; therefore, be sure to stock up on Fuel Cells in your inventory or storage containers beforehand.

    One-Click Base Packaging

Once your vehicles have been sorted out, it's time to pull out Base Reconstruction Tool and use it to save your base. Acting like a snapshot, this tool will package your entire architectural structure, along with all internal Complex Machinery, Refineries, and Storage Containers (including the resources stored inside them), directly into your character's data.

    Arriving in the New World

Once you return to the server list with your packaged character data and select a new destination world, the real challenge of establishing a new home begins.

Upon entering the new world, all players will spawn in Haga Basin region, located in the southern part of Dune Awakening. You are free to switch between different Sieges (starting zones) without consuming a Transfer Token. You can utilize this mechanic to pilot your vehicle back to your original base coordinates for an on-site reconnaissance mission.

It is worth noting that many players construct their bases to conform to specific terrain features or unique structural formations. If your intended location on the new server has already been claimed by another player, you can try your luck by switching to a different Siege, or simply look for a new spot elsewhere.

If the terrain is unoccupied, but an in-game NPC camp has spawned there during your absence, do not panic. You can utilize Snap to Origin tool to force your base to snap back precisely to its original coordinates and orientation; doing so will automatically displace and despawn NPC camp.

Once the reconstruction process is complete, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that your water reserves, fuel supplies, and all the rare resources stored within your chests remain completely intact. All that remains is to reassemble your vehicle at your major base, allowing you to seamlessly resume your quest for dominance on Arrakis.

All in all, server migrations and mergers inevitably come with some growing pains; however, for Dune: Awakening, this process is a necessary step toward expanding the game with the brand-new The Water Wars DLC. Therefore, before making your move, we recommend visiting various community forums to gather intel on the factions and general atmosphere of the different new worlds, ensuring you choose a new home that best suits your needs. The sands stretch endlessly, and dangers lurk around every corner, so pack up all your belongings and get ready to write your own legend on a new server!

Dune Awakening The Water Wars Update 1.4 Adds Decent Gear but Meta Remains Broken | You won't believe which weapon just got buffed again

    Posted: May 19, 2026Views: 242

Dune Awakening The Water Wars DLC is set for release on May 19. To be honest, many players are quite disappointed with this update. The development team has not delivered the large-scale expansion they had promised; much of that content has been pushed to the end of the year. This is merely a modest update package.

That said, looking purely at Update 1.4 content included, the studio has added not only a range of cosmetic items but also some new weapons and armor. So, how effective are they? What kind of impact might they have on the game's meta? Let's dive into their strengths and weaknesses.

Dune Awakening The Water Wars Update 1.4 Adds Decent Gear but Meta Remains Broken | You won't believe which weapon just got buffed again

    Melee Weapons

The newly introduced melee weapons are not without conceptual highlights, but due to current version stats and mechanics, their overall performance is middling at best.

    Leech's Maw

This weapon can drain energy from a target, enough even to break shields. However, its base damage is low, and its shield-breaking efficiency isn't high. Its advantage lies in not applying DoT effects, so it might see some use in dungeons where you want to avoid knocking enemies out of stun or stagger states.

    Serpent's Fang

Serpent's Fang applies a poison effect on the target. But DOT effects in the current version lack effective scaling; often the target falls before the poison can finish them off. Overall, it offers little practicality.

    Eel's Tooth

Each hit from Eel's Tooth restores 5 points of battery energy. At present, 5 points is an extremely low amount. Considering that just one hit from any ranged weapon can deal enough damage to require roughly a dozen hits with this melee weapon just to recover the lost shields, it is likewise nearly useless in practice.

    Prescient Edge

This rapier causes the target to bleed upon a successful parry. The damage numbers still seem low. This weapon might have some niche potential in PvP, but in PvE it remains entirely irrelevant.

    Branding Blade

This weapon inflicts burning on targets with each attack. Since the burn damage does not scale with stats, its power is fixed. It probably won't shine in PvP, but it might be somewhat usable in PvE.

    Ranged Weapons

Compared to the melee options, the ranged weapons are far more interesting and could genuinely affect the meta. You can invest your Dune Awakening Solari into whichever appeals to you.

    Spitting Cobra

Spitting Cobra is a toxin-based SMG whose attacks apply a poison effect on top of normal damage. Its attack damage isn't high, and since poison DOT is not particularly threatening, you may want to temper your expectations for this weapon.

    The Angry Adder

This unique full-auto assault rifle also deals toxin damage. Its drawback is a somewhat short effective range of just 48 meters. On the plus side, it has very low recoil, making it easy to handle, and its damage is high. It might just become a new top-tier choice.

    Hell-Fury Pistol

Hell-Fury Pistol holds 6 rounds, fires single shots, has minimal recoil, and features extremely fast reset speed, offering excellent handling. Though it also comes with fire DOT, that is not the main selling point. If equipped with Heavy Caliber plus two or three damage mods (or two damage mods plus Extra Capacity), it becomes an outstanding sidearm.

    Blind Fury

Blind Fury is a five-round sniper rifle with a firing pattern similar to Dunewatcher – single-shot. However, it boasts a faster rate of fire, shorter reload time, a larger magazine capacity of five rounds, and very low recoil. Provided you have good aim, its effective range surpasses that of current assault rifles. With high single-shot damage and easy control, it is well suited for long-range headshot-focused playstyles.

    The Hateful Barker

This is a unique LMG whose defining trait is extremely low accuracy, but in exchange it offers a 25% damage bonus. All LMGs are in a weak spot in the current environment, and this one is no exception. Its shield damage has not been improved either. These flaws make the weapon very niche. It might only reach its full potential in coordinated team play, where teammates draw aggro or use crowd-control abilities to cluster enemies.

    Armor

A few new functional armor pieces have been added.

    Phantom Whisper Chestpiece

This chest armor's special effect reduces enemy (PvE monster) detection speed by 5%. A mere 5% reduction is not significant. Considering that most enemies take only 2–3 seconds from spotting a target to opening fire, such a minor reduction in detection speed is unlikely to make a real difference.

    Phantom Whisper Helm

This helmet pairs with the chestpiece, also reducing detection speed by 5%. Wearing both together gives a 10% reduction in detection speed. This stat is only useful in PvE, and in PvE more practical choices tend to be survival-oriented affixes like poison medication. Thus, these two armor pieces are of limited utility.

    Combat Exoskeleton Chestpiece

This is a heavy armor piece that provides roughly 10% bonus melee damage. Currently, melee damage bonuses can already be stacked very high; if you push for the extreme, achieving near one-hit kills is not difficult. So this 10% extra damage is quite substantial. However, melee combat relies heavily on stamina regeneration, and heavy armor further exacerbates stamina consumption. In boss fights, this drawback is likely to outweigh the benefit of the damage increase.

    Weapon Mods

A fair number of new weapon mods have arrived with this update, but most of them are not very appealing.

    • Scattergun Rampage-Enhancement: Increases damage and magazine capacity but reduces critical hit damage.
    • Blade Blood Grooves: Lowers stamina cost per attack and melee weapon weight at the cost of reduced damage.
    • Heavy Metal Blade Coating: Boosts damage in exchange for increased melee weapon weight.
    • Pyrocket Decimator: Improves damage against shields but reduces magazine capacity and accuracy.
    • Flamethrower Decimator: Enhances shield damage while lowering rate of fire.
    • Missile Launcher Obliterator: Increases shield damage and recoil control, but reduces accuracy.
    • Lasgun Concentrator: Raises weapon power and precision, at the expense of rate of fire and magazine capacity.
    • Rafiq Snubnose Marksman: Extends range and improves recoil control, while cutting magazine capacity.
    • VULCAN GAU-92 Accelerator: Improves accuracy, recoil control, and reload speed, but reduces shield damage.
    • Disruptor M11 Personnel-Buster: Increases critical damage and rate of fire, but lowers shield damage, range, and recoil control.
    • Maula Pistol Antipersonnel Rounds: Adds damage and critical damage, while reducing shield damage, range, and recoil control.
    • Drillshot FK7 Spray-and-Pray: Improves reload speed and rate of fire, but reduces range, recoil control, and magazine capacity.
    • Karpov 38 Sniper Barrel: Extends range and boosts accuracy, at the cost of slower reload speed.
    • JABAL Spitdart Ranger: Increases reload speed and range, while reducing rate of fire.

Judging by the content of this update, melee gameplay still cannot rise to prominence. As for ranged weapons, although there are more options now, shotguns have not been nerfed – in fact, they have been buffed. The various playstyles remain far from balanced.

Dune Awakening Chapter 3: Taxes Finally Removed! Has Funcom Caved to Player Demands?

    Posted: Jan 31, 2026Views: 2116

On February 3rd, Dune: Awakening will receive its highly anticipated Chapter 3 update. To be honest, for those of us who have been grinding through Chapters 1 and 2, this update feels less like a "content expansion" and more like a long-overdue "apology."

If, like me, you're tired of having your hard-earned resources drained by ridiculously high upkeep taxes, or weary of being chased across the map by overly aggressive NPCs, then Funcom's latest update list has a few points worth noting.

Dune: Awakening Chapter 3: Taxes Finally Removed! Has Funcom Caved to Player Demands?

The Developers Finally Give In: Desperate Measures for Retention?

According to the latest official update details (see image below), Funcom is clearly feeling the pressure.

Dune Awakening Chapter 3: Return Package for Returning

The most surprising (or perhaps ironic) addition is a new mechanism called the "Return Package." The developers claim it will provide resource replenishment for players who have been offline for more than 28 days.

Funcom is packaging this as "helping veteran players catch up," but in my opinion, it's more like an emergency button pressed to combat the dwindling online player count. Why didn't they do this sooner? In previous versions, the abysmal mining efficiency of the MK6 cutting laser gun, and the weak, fragile, and expensive weapon system, drove away a large number of hardcore players. Now they're offering gift packages? Isn't that a bit arrogant?

Chapter 3 Core Update Overview: Substance or Just Hype?

Setting aside the developers' attitude, looking solely at the content of Chapter 3 (based on the official Patch Preview), it does address some key issues:

    • Quality of Life Improvements (QoL): Base Upkeep Taxes have been completely removed. This was the most complained-about feature, and it's finally gone. A "Base Reconstruction Tool" has also been added, which is good news for players who don't want to log in every day just to repair their base.
    • Endgame and Progression: New Specialization and Augmentation systems have been added, and the Tier 6 "Plastanium" progression path has been unlocked. For players who have already reached the maximum level, there's finally something to do.
    • Combat System Overhaul: The Rapier has been completely reworked, and Dual Blades and Pyrocket have been added. Hopefully, the weapon durability will be adjusted to be more reasonable this time, so they don't break after just a few hits.
    • New Map Mechanics: 10 new "Testing Stations" will be added to the map, offering not only high-level loot but also dynamically adjusting boss difficulty.

Competitor Comparison: ARC Raiders is already showing them how it's done

Funcom's biggest external pressure for this update likely comes from ARC Raiders.

The survival shooter market has changed. Look at ARC Raiders; they've already clearly laid out their 2026 roadmap, and the development team's attitude is significantly more sincere than Funcom's—faster patch updates, timely responses to community feedback, and most importantly, they don't have that arrogant "we're just going to drag our feet and not fix things" attitude.

In contrast, while Dune: Awakening has a strong IP behind it, if Chapter 3 merely fixes previous unreasonable settings without fundamentally improving gameplay, players will be hard-pressed to accept it.

Summary: February 3rd, the last chance?

This Chapter 3 update will officially launch on February 3rd. If you're a player who quit because of the frustrating tax system, it might be worth returning to take a look—even if it's just for the free "Return Package."

But Funcom needs to understand that players don't need handouts, but a respectful gaming experience. If the MK6's efficiency remains low, and if NPCs are still as unnaturally perceptive as if they had map hacks, then no matter how many gift packages they give away, players will ultimately gravitate towards games that respect them more.

Dune Awakening Chapter 3 Release Date, Major QoL Improvements and Endgame Expansion | The Update That Finally Saves Arrakis?

    Posted: Jan 29, 2026Views: 1429

After several months, news of Dune Awakening has finally returned, which is truly exciting, as many players thought the game had failed. However, the developers have released the third chapter as planned.

Dune: Awakening Chapter 3 will launch next Tuesday (February 3rd), marking the biggest update since the game's release. The developers have made many adjustments based on player feedback. Let's explore the changes together.

Dune Awakening Chapter 3 Release Date, Major QoL Improvements and Endgame Expansion | The Update That Finally Saves Arrakis?

    No More Taxes

First, let's address the issue players care about most: base rebuilding. Players have been absent for months. Due to unmaintained bases losing power and being destroyed by sandstorms, Hagga Basin has become a complete desert. If you plan to return, you'll have to rebuild everything.

After observing community feedback, the developers acknowledged that returning to the game after a long absence can be disorienting and even frustrating. Imagine logging in to find your base gone, power depleted, or taxes overdue—it would certainly discourage you from continuing.

Previously, the official team had taken several measures to improve the situation, such as base rebuilding tools, increased bank storage space, and the now-available character transfer function, to help players leave unattended servers. Chapter 3 will further introduce two major changes, significantly reducing the pressure to return.

    Tax Removal

Base taxes have been completely removed. Players no longer need to log in to hand in maintenance fees, nor will they be penalized for temporarily leaving the game. They can now freely build large or creative bases. This change will fundamentally improve the overall game experience.

    Return Packages

For players who have been away from the game for a long time, Dune Awakening Chapter 3 will introduce return packages. These are customized resource packs designed to help players return smoothly. Any character who has not logged in for 28 consecutive days can claim this package through the rewards menu after Chapter 3 launches; however, the specific contents have not yet been announced.

    Endgame Gameplay

For a long time, players have often felt that their progression path becomes flat and limited after starting to collect Plastanium Ingot in Tier 6. The developers hope to add more diverse content in Chapter 3, allowing players to continue progressing.

    Landsraad Missions

The most important new addition in Chapter 3 is the new Landsraad Missions, which require you to join a faction-affiliated guild. This is very simple, as creating a solo guild only requires 1000 Solaris.

Once Chapter 3 launches and you reach faction level 5, you'll need to complete a new faction quest. This quest is key to unlocking Landsraad Missions and Specializations system. Completing the quest unlocks endgame content.

Completing all Landsraad Missions grants Faction XP. The faction level cap is increased to 20; leveling from 19 to 20 may require completing a final quest. Increasing your faction level not only grants substantial faction rewards but also unlocks higher difficulty levels in Testing Stations.

    How to Complete Landsraad Missions?

You'll receive 5 Coupons daily to claim rewards. Coupons can be accumulated up to a maximum of 35. Completing quests rewards you with faction experience, specialization XP, House Scrips, contribution, Solari, and XP.

Quests are divided into different specializations, such as crafting, combat, and gathering. The type of quest you accept determines the corresponding specialization experience you gain. Different Houses are associated with specific specializations each week.

Before choosing a quest, it's recommended to check the contribution rewards for each House; some rewards can be very generous. Also, consider gaining a strategic advantage for your faction. When accepting a quest, you can choose to represent a currently unlocked House, and your Contribution Points will be credited to that House.

Quest objective locations can be viewed in the quest log or highlighted on the world map using filters. There is a 16-hour cooldown after completing a quest before you can attempt the same quest again.

You can share quests with party members, completing them together or separately to improve efficiency. You can also abandon quests, but there is a 1-hour cooldown before you can accept them again.

Some quests require crafting specific items. These recipes will automatically unlock when you first enter a new area and can be found in the quick crafting menu.

    Specialization System

Specializations are permanent passive buffs, divided into Major Buffs and Minor Buffs. They require Spice Melange to level up; maximizing a single specialization requires approximately 750 Spice Melange, and maximizing all five specializations requires approximately 3750 Spice Melange.

Currently, there are 5 specializations, each with a maximum level of 100. Experience is gained by completing corresponding Landsraad Missions. Specialization progress is linked to faction level, meaning you need to play continuously daily to gradually level up. The development team states that maximizing all specializations could take up to a year.

Currently, the official details regarding specializations have not been released; the following are just their general functions:

    • Crafting: Improves the durability of crafted items, etc.
    • Gathering: Increases gathering speed and chance of obtaining rare materials.
    • Exploration: Increases inventory capacity and reduces stamina consumption.
    • Combat: Increases damage against enemies and critical hit rate.
    • Sabotage: Reduces enemy detection and increases stealth damage.

    Augments

Augments are modifiers that can be added to unique weapons and armor of MK6 and above. They provide passive attributes, but sometimes sacrifice other attributes for balance.

You can obtain Augment Schematics by completing new test stations or trading. The higher the difficulty of the test station, the better the quality of the drops. Excess Schematics can be recycled into Patterns of the corresponding level for crafting other Augments.

Crafting Augments requires a new resource, Regis Compound, which can be synthesized at Advanced Survival Fabricator or traded from merchants in Landsraad.

Enhancement modules have 5 grades, indicated by the number of slices on the icon. Higher grades offer better stats. However, during crafting, stat values are randomly generated within a certain range.

Each item has a fixed number of Augment Sockets, with more unlocked through crafting specializations. Equipping an enhancement module permanently reduces an item's maximum durability by 5 points, but this is worthwhile for the stat boost.

Note that once an Augment Socket is installed, it cannot be removed or replaced. To try new combinations, you'll need to prepare new unique items.

Much more will be revealed in the full update, but we can already tell this will be a substantial update, so make Arrakis noise again!
